"Two screws ought do it." 😆 I actually agree. That is a really good idea using saw horses. Good stuff, curious to hear updates on the blanket color in later episodes.
Great video , HBD too! Jean - Michael Basquiat was a famous NYC based artist that passed away in 1988 from an overdose. It seems like these recent years there's been a resurgence of his artwork and persona ( Jay Z growing his hair out like how Jean-Michael had it for example) Also you may want to get the Men's wear Manifesto if you don't already use it. It's helped me with learning brands and it's a great reference on the go .
I had my eBay store set at no returns …… it looks blue to me and I’m sure you put a ton of pictures in your listing. I think I would (just my advice) put a white blanket and if you have a white shirt then put the light grey one on. 🙏🏼🙋🏻♀️🧡
Hi Carrie, when you say you have a "Shirt Store", do you have a separate eBay account for this and another for your jeans? If so, can you have 2 accounts? I was under the impression eBay did not like this.
I see you started some of your lostings with "VTG." I watched your video about having the right order of your words used in your titles..... Brand, what it is, Gender, Size, then keywords. Do you always put VTG or Vintage at the start of your listing? I've been putting it after all the other info but then when i go to look something up, i always type "Vintage" first, lol. Thanks for your help! I love, love, love your content!
If majority of buyers are specifically looking for a vintage item from a certain brand, I’ll put VTG in the front. Like some buyers specifically want a vintage pair of Levi’s vs other buyers who are just looking for Levis. If the item is vintage but I don’t believe most buyers would be searching for it with the VTG keyword, I won’t put vintage in the title. Hope this helps!
Hey Carrie. I know you've said you have a thermal printer right? I live here in Texas and my husband said it wouldn't be a good idea to get a thermal printer because it would end up smudging the ink. Can you maybe verify if heat is not good for being in texas, or give us a different option on a printer?
Thermal printers don’t use ink they use lasers to etch into the label so you’ll be safe! Thermal is highly recommended due to its weather resistant capabilities :)
Question : when u sell an item Say number 1 so your first item in that box is number 2 , do you restock that box with number 1 again 🤔 as I see you re jigging the boxes when they get empty so I’m a little confused with the numbers .. hence the question . Great video by the way I wish we had those stores in the Uk …
Great video! Do you offer free shipping?I do calculated cost so if they do return I’m not stuck with that extra cost. Love the photo shoot area and inventory system!
Great video! I was wondering when you showed the comps at the end. For the Tommy Bahama shirt the title is super simple. And I usually try to fill up all 80 characters. Is that because there’s so many listings? I’m wondering if some brands do better with simplicity. I have a few shirts from Tommy listed and they lack views. Thanks
Hello, I have a question. Do you promote your listings? What percentage of promotion is good or bad? Promote your listings? I'm new to selling eBay. Thank you
I promote my listings but it’s at a rate that I can afford to promote at. Promoting should only be used as a tool not the cornerstone of your business. If I were you, I would see what your profit margin is after fees, shipping, buy cost, and other expenses and see if you have room to spend more money on promotions.
Just out of curiosity, can you please let me know the dimensions of that wooden board you have here? I picked up something from Home Depot but it's too large.
How do you get so much sales being a new store I have trouble selling my items I have about 100 items on there sometimes I go 2 weeks without selling anything.
For me, I make sure I’m putting up items that have a decent sell thru rate, priced at market or slightly below, make my titles SEO friendly, offer free returns, offer plenty of well lit photos, offer a flat rate shipping rate, and promote at a rate I can afford to spend on. That’s been the best formula I’ve used. It works really well!
I’m really curious what you do in your shirt store vs your jeans store for marketing? Do you have a store subscription for the shirts? Do you do promoted listings?
I don’t have a subscription for the shirt store but I do have one for my jeans store. I was waiting to run out of free listings with my shirt store before getting a subscription, but they upped my listing amount. Not sure when I’ll get a sub for the shirt store now 🤔
I see you number the bags the shirts are in. Do you put that number in the item description so you can locate the shirt or what do you do with that number so you locate the shirt once it sold?
I put it in the custom sku box that’s found within the listing creation and I also add a photo of the sku in the photo gallery of the listing. I show how to make the custom sku box appear in my inventory system video :)
@@carrieathomethx for replying. I’m using your challenge as a guide to start a secondary eBay store and see the same thing so it’s comforting to know I’m seeing the same results.
I want to put my listed clothing and things in polybags like you do, but there’s many times where someone will message me and ask for another measurement or ask me to take another photo of a part of the item. Have you had that happen a lot where you have to take the item out of the bag to answer a question? I put my items in Polly bags when I ship, but I’d rather do it right when listed.
I get asked for extra measurements periodically. I will generally go and get those measurements. If there’s a common measurement that’s been requested often, maybe consider going ahead and including it in the listing for every item. But that’s only if it’s a measurement being asked for constantly :)
I get 24x10x8 boxes from uline and they can totally be used for shoes. If I were you, I would measure how you’ll store your shoes to make sure what box width would be best.
8" work for me great..probably 75% clothes 25% jeans...get 30" and hold on average 25 items..more so with light silk or athletic and 15 for just jeans.
@foo446 I use 9x11 poly, I seal them before storage to avoid dust or creepy crawlies, some leave their's open but I'd be devastated if a customer got a bug freebie with their order
I have always been curious about items that are vintage or almost with holes or an extra amount of wear on them.... i have bought an older carhartt in this condition but some people will just badmouth if it is priced high and the holes etc. What are your thoughts behind when we decide to sell items like this? I live in an industial city in the energy sector so there are always lots of work wear in different conditions you can buy
It does depend on how much damage there is and what type of damage. Also depends on the item. If the damage is "cool" then I would price the same or higher as non-damaged items. If the damage actually hinders the durability or functions of the item, then I'd list it cheaper than the rest.
whats the size of the tshirt photo board? trying make new setup myself, also what lights using and what blanket? i picked one up from joannes fabrics and it was a weird color so wanted swap
I believe my shirt board is around 5ft x 5ft. I’ll add a link to the lights in the video description! The blanket is from Target. If you have Instagram, I have all the links in my backdrop highlight on my profile :)
Oh my gosh! I wish I had known about this return deal! I got my first return ever. It was as described The colors in my pictures matched her pictures. I refunded everything. 😢 I now know for next time. Thank you!!!
Now you know! There are times where I made an honest mistake and I’ll refund the buyer 100%. But generally, most of the issues are due to buyers not really looking or reading the listing before buying.
@@carrieathome Hi Carrie, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, I'm still very confused about the whole shipping charges, shipping returns, should shipping be included or not?
I’ve had a few viewers support the challenge of starting a new store with a handful of purchases, but other than that I don’t think it’s really benefited my store per say. If anything, I think the huge influx of views on all the items is a disadvantage to getting sales. I’m getting hundreds of views on items with no sales. eBay’s probably questioning what’s wrong with my items lol
