@Gs I can’t remember the battery I was running in this video…but I recommend the Onyx 4000kv motor and 70a esc….I run it in my 2wd Stampede….it come in around $80 which isn’t bad for both the motor and esc
I have just brought one of these, was great to see how well it did in that environment and the amount of punishment you gave it. Great work, you have a new subscriber.
I have badlands on beadlocks and my diff locked with epoxy for full posi. Yeah those tires rip hard. The big dirt pile disappeared at my favourite spot 😢. Great video, makes me wanna go find a new dirt pile.
I've considered a Rustler for about 25 years now. I love trophy trucks so style-wise the Slash is excellent! Watching this makes me wanna get a slash instead. Lol coming off an original Losi XX buggy i got in 94 I'm trying to get back into it but too much has to be done to the XX to bring it current.
I have a fully upgraded slash 4x4 ultimate with the center hoss diff, vg racing springs. You name it its on there. I still drive my 2wd slash i bought used on fb marketplace more often bc its just more fun. Its brushless with the high center chassis and the stock progressive rate springs. Only thing ive done to it is add a sealed diff
Hi mate great video and to see a 2wd slash go so well. I've got a 2wd slash that after watching your video I'm going to convert my brush system to a brushless system. Thanks mate keep them coming 👍🦘😁😁
Glad you liked it man! Yeah the 2wd Slash is actually more fun in the sand compared with the 4wd in my opinion…..can’t go wrong with brushless power either lol
@@RCKnockout thanks for the reply mate. You can't bet brushless system for power. I'm about to fit a brushless system in my wheelchair hahaha catch me if you can 👍🤪🤣🤣

Love your videos. Just bought a Slash VXL 2wd for my son and I. Total new to RC and we're having a blast. Wanted to ask how you clean your slash after a run? Do you use a chassis cover to keep out dirt and sand?
Thanks! That’s awesome you guys can share in the hobby! I have used dust covers before…but the electronics get pretty hot. I typically just use compressed air or use water if it’s super dirty…I make sure to spray wd40 on the bearings if I do wash it though
Do you have any clearance issues with the badlands tires? I’m running hot racing big bore shocks all the way around so I even have a bit more ground clearance then a normal slash but I’m still concerned. Great video my man!! Love this spot
I have the Traxxas slash brushless 2wd. I upgraded to 3s and added the drag bars on the rear to keep it down. Is it something else i could do it to keep it down? I really would like to take them off. To do some off roading as well .
I seen your video Ware you were driving that big truck RC on water. I heard that the Slashes can do that as well. Have you ever tested that? I was thinking about trying it out at pyramid lake but I'm gona wait till I have a set of sand paddles for it. Then I'd like to try it but want to be sure I don't screw up my Slash if she ends up sinking. Lol
i have a slash 2wd and especially in dirt doesn't seem to get any traction and very hard to control, you think upgrading the tires would make this better
Is this a good cheap truck for a beginner? I don’t need the best truck I just need a reliable tough truck. I’ll crash it and make some crappy jumps at my house. I what want something cool to mess around in my yard and camp sites. Please let me know. Thank you.
I love the video! that terrain looks like it would be a fun session with little to no breakage. If you don't mind a little positive criticism and I am not perfect myself and I do notice it on my videos also on my RC channel; i noticed that you pulse the trigger alot! Try using smoother flatter throttle inputs, I have noticed from personal experience that it improves handling quite a bit as well as makes a better smoother run. Its also slightly annoying hearing a constant pulse of the motor when it should be running at a steady pace... ok I said it and now I feel better lol. Where are you from man? my guess is Utah?
I can take positive criticism lol….yeah I usually don’t notice when I’m filming that I’m doing that so I need to remind myself to be smooth on the throttle rather than blipping….I’ve gotten so used to doing this kind of throttling with my gas powered machines that it’s transferred over to when I’m running electric ones too. Nowhere close to Utah actually…..Iowa
@@RCKnockout I was thinking to myself; I wonder if he had gas cars? Ha! OG RC Vet! Yeah that makes sense. Iowa is cool I never went there but I will someday.
@@McNewMotoTech yeah I probably am not supposed to blip the throttle with the gas powered either but it seems easier than trying to give it a gradual increased throttle….where about are you from?

Yeah it’s possible with a 4x4 slash……I’ve never tried it though…..maybe sometime
Honestly. It looks cooler when the sand is damp.
I prefer when it’s dry though….less mess on the machine
How do you fix it when the tires come un glued also does that happen often
It happens fairly frequently……you just gotta re-glue it
i have a slash 2wd and especially in dirt doesn't seem to get any traction and very hard to control, you think upgrading the tires would make this better
It could….but that’s always gonna be somewhat of a problem with a 2wd machine….you can never pin it on loose ground and expect it to get traction

Do you run a locked diff? If not what weight oil?
No…..I believe I’m running whatever comes stock in a Drag Slash
Awesome cad thinking about buying one I was just wondering how long will it last in a charge cause I haven’t really been able to find an answer

What is better the slash 2wd or rustler 2wd BL5
I’ve never had experience with a Rustler
Is this the stock motor or what kind of motor is it
It might have been the 3500kv Velineon motor…or it’s the 3200kv Castle 1412 motor….I can’t remember off the top of my head
What gearing are you running
This was filmed quite a while ago….I’ve changed the setup multiple times since then….if I were to guess I’d say probably 21/90
Is it normal for my slash 2wd to have its back side much more slanted down?
No not really…..it should have a pretty even rake from the rear to the front

I don't even have food most of the month
Do it hit top speed like the box say?
This one started out as a brushed xl5 model….it went 30+ with the high speed gearing right out of the box
so which is superior overall? 2WD or 4WD? as 2wd is easy to work on whereas 4wd is much better offroad. (looking to buy a 4wd slash soon)
