Thank you for doing a video on the conversation with Hythlodaeus! It is such a huge lore bomb that is dropped right into your lap.

Also, god, that conversation with Hythlodaeus is always so wonderful. The tropes involved are so well hit. And I love the "We were... close friends" -- reminds me of "THEY'RE ROOMATES!"
I also love how he's so coy about things. Referencing how Emet would have certainly recognized the "hint of him" in us, and calling you the new old friend. He's implying that all 3 of you knew each other but he's only confirming that Emet and him were friends, completely leaving out who we were.

When even waiting at the DMV is fun. I do love how you get to talk to a projection that actually realizes what's going on and shares with you some more information. And yeah that reveal near the end I don't think was a surprise to most people but it's still nice that the game says "Yep it's what you think it is."
I'm waiting for when they realize that random seemingly unimportant lore bits that have been dropped throughout all the expansions are not unimportant.
That moment when a game can even make waiting at the DMV interesting. Alas we do not have the ghosts of dead ancients to sit with us and drop lore bombs on our heads in real life.

Hythlodeous means Speaker of Nonsense and is narrator of Thomas More's classic political and philosophical text, "Utopia" .... in Utopia btw everyone wears the same clothes
This segment is where I started wondering if FFXIV was the best game I'd ever played.

It's right after this moment that Preach went "Ok fck you win YOU WIN" and paid up free subs in chat cause Shadowbringers is the best expansion 😂😂 (we made him bet that he'll like Shadowbringers more then Heavensward and he didn't believe).
That "Hop on Pop" comment gave me firm chuckle
I do love Garrett's G-man voice.
I do think he may regret it later though. I'm not a fan of it personally for these characters, but that is likely because of what I know.

on the small rant about the Sylvanas arc at the end- You can track the exact point at which I unsubbed from WoW and decided to give FFXIV a try by just looking up what day the 'I will never serve' moment came out in LFR. The world/story is what gets me invested in games, and to see them spread the Sylvanas story so incredibly thin over multiple expansions only to completely blow it with a painfully out of character moment like that completely killed my interest in the WoW story. Though in retrospect it's the best thing WoW has ever done for me since FFXIV is where I always should have been.

Man shadowlands should be renamed to "plotpoint graveyard" from how many possibilities and mysteries they crushed into nothing just there

@@dafire9634 Its not just Shadowlands... Its all over the game: so many awesome, funny, beautiful stories... and they dont do *anything* with them. You accept quest, finish quest, and then you forget about it. You play the expansion, you finish it, and forget about it. Its always the same - and its a shame. So much wasted potential... They claim, DF will be different... The future will tell. Its the same team as before, so I'm not too optimistic... Not that I care for that matter... Even if they did all that I would hope they'd do, I still wouldnt go back.
@@markup6394 I certainly consider Shadowlands a point of no return where they have irrevocably screwed up their story so bad there's no point trying to save it. On the plus side, WoW crashing and burning got me to try FFXIV which is where I always should have been. So while I hope WoW gets better for the people who still want to play it, I will not be joining them.
