Excellent demonstration of Papillion’s capability and also terrific demonstration of what an extremely competent Captain and Crew can deliver. Well done.
Coincidentally I, too had gone to school there for a year, many years ago! Escola Secundária de Carcavelos… That short visit was quite nostalgic for me as well!
Dear Captian, your last advice about always creating and improving is exactly what I am doing. After a successful career as a chef/hotelier for the past 22 years. I retired only to become bored. I recently decided t open a tasting menu restaurant with ambitious goals. My desire to one day own a Bering 88 will be fulfilled with continued hard work and drive to express my passion for from my cultures of living. African, Middle Eastern, Cajun, Creole, then mixed with the many cultures that make up our worldly cuisine. Persian, Indian, Asian etc. Great video. Thank you for the jolt of inspiration. Oh, tell Aled as well. Bering knows of my hopes and dreams.
Dear Ian, thank you for your kinds words. You journey seems like an amazing one! I would love to have the opportunity to taste your food! I am sure, we will cross paths one day on the ocean, with your beautiful B88! take care!
Nos ultimos anos tenho refletido muito sobre a nossa vida no plante,as diversidades de possibilidades e a grande maioria de nós impossibilitados de percebe-las por estar "distraidos" com outras questoes que nem são tao relevantes no dia a dia.
LOVE THAT BAR. ROUTE 66 is an old highway in America that has created a cult following among travelers, foodies, and speedsters. Hearing The Rolling Stones in the background was relaxing. 'Back to the Bering,' I'll give you marketing rights for a nominal fee. (wink)
Enjoying the videos of the trip. One little thing, could you tell us what the object on the radar was on your way across , I don’t remember you telling us. Also the listing yacht in this video, what was the outcome? Thanks!
Glad you are enjoying them! The object was a loose buoy, floating in the middle of the ocean. Its pole was sticking out at least couple of meters. Hence the radar... The listing yacht was a false alarm as well, fortunately. That yacht, like some other racers, has a canting keel. The crew moved the keel deliberately to allow for drainage, I suppose. Not being sure that was the case, I had to inform the marina just in case. All ended with a good laugh and relief!

I love Bering yacht but I must admit, I am not a great fan of the Helm Station design or the Master State cabin and would be two thing that I would change

Would be good to know result. I am betting on water. In late 80's I was dismasted in Northern Pacific and was rescued by a Trawler but have seen more yachts go down at Dockside than I care to remember.
@@mervharris5183 Fortunately, that was not the case. That yacht has a canting keel. The crew did that deliberately. I had not known that at the time and wanted to make sure that the boat was safe.
Lose the music, its very irritating especially when someone is trying to talk in the video, It should be low in the background if you need it. Looks like your captain can barely see out the bridge windows!
wise words at the end, form the captain 100% better presentation than the nausea folks Alexie, i do not mind praise where praise is due, but the nausea folks would vanish up your backside if you let them time to get Nick on board

Love the cruising and liveaboatd videos, it shows the use of the vessel and how it would be living aboard while traveling to new destinations
Excellent de voir enfin des bateaux en situation ! Il m’avait semblé que papillon été vendu !?
Wow this bought back memories , I lived and went to school in Carcavelos when I was young, St Julians, ooh that took me back

The racing sailboat likely has a canting keel, likely set to port as its draft is probably greater than the harbor water depth - it is not sinking
Canting keel was the reason, yes. They were apparently trying to wash the bilge and listed the boat to help it drain
👍👍👍👍👍👍

How do I get to see more of your smaller craft Alexy
Hello! Please visit our Bering Yachts channel.
was that yacht taking on water?

Why 3.5 days for a 6 mile journey?
He should have said 600
Really enjoyed the content. Please have more videos without Victoria.
