So many wonderful years of hearing the Romeros and now seeing the next generation of Romeros's will mean that this legacy will continue on for I hope, eternity. A beautiful family . . .
Thank you for uploading this. Los Romeros are swoon worthy. This is an excellent arrangement. I was lucky enough to see them in concert & I was blown away.
The song is written "Malagueña" with " ñ " and It is the toponym of the city of Málaga in southern of Spain. This piece is the sixth movement of the Suite Andalucía (1933) composed by Ernesto Lecuona (1895-1963), who also composed its lyrics in Spanish. This song has since been adapted to pop, jazz and musical bands (military and bugle and drum) and lyrics have been composed in several languages.
Malagueña is Spanish in origin, style and influence. The composer, Ernesto Lecuona, was Cuban; however, in 1924, he went to Spain to live and perform. In 1928, Lecuona composed Suite Andalucía, his homage to the southern region of Spain by that name. Andalucía includes the Province of Málaga. Malagueña is the sixth movement of Lecuona's Suite Andalucía.
Runaway; I am so grateful for what you have explained about Ernesto's past and how it is that he wrote so many songs that describe the geography and culture of Spain and the Iberian peninsula! The Moors being forced out of Spain in 1492...the year Columbus sailed "the ocean blue"...the Christian monarchs; Ferdinand and Isabella apparently didn't have the good sense to appreciate the fountains and architecture of "Granada"! My understanding of the term "Malaguena" is that it's a tribute to the beauty of the women who resided in Malaga, Spain!
Eh Pancake he dint go to live in spain in 1924, but much, much more later. He wrote most of hes work in Havana, he live and tour NYC form an Orquest "Lecuona Beach Boys" I think was the name, it was later with Castro that he went to live in Spain.
MegaMatojo Hey Mega - I think you're correct, sort of. He didn't go to live in Spain in 1924, but he did travel there (and other parts of Europe) in 1924, staying to perform and work for an extended period of time. In 1960, disenchanted with the Castro regime, he moved from Cuba to Tampa, Florida, USA, which was his principal residence until his death in 1963. Cheers.
Of all the music that has been written and performed there are four pieces that grip my soul - Johnny Be Good (Chuck Berry), Silent Night (sung in the original German language), Amazing Grace (played on bagpipes), and, of course, Malaguena (almost any version, on any instrument or arrangement). I do not know what grips your soul or caresses your emotions, but these are my selections. also Ghost Riders in the Sky (that makes 5 easy pieces)
romeros performed tarregas' piece recuerdos de la alhambre,,,a great performance of tremelo study, I think it is buried among wfmt archives of tapes in chicago,,,this lecuona item is a fire breather,,,, recuerdos perhaps more burning embers, ana vidic ( here on yt) did a beautiful job too,
A cuban composer. Ironically, created on the devastation of his country through the war. One of the all time, now even played at the olympic figure skating rings....
well, depends on what you're playing. electric guitar is just completely different. there are great guitarist for example buckethead. he is also a genius writer
Any quality electric guitarist with good control on chords can move to Spanish style. The difference is the right hand with so many variations that are constantly developed by these guitarists in their own style. The other is the feel unique to its genre that you need to develop. One way is to constantly listen to this music. Flamenco is wild that a player constantly improvises during a performance. Something that a jazz instrumentalist also does.
Cô ơi, video gốc cô có bản HD ko ạ? Cháu mê tiếng guitar gia tộc Romero gần 10 năm rồi, chủ yếu hay xem anh em Pepe và Romero, xem video của cô Hân chia sẻ mới biết có 2 anh hậu sinh chơi guitar bằng 1 tay nữa, ngoạn mục!
The Spanish guitar exudes in its notes the culture and soul of the Spanish people. We need not wait long, in its first notes there emanates a charm, a spell, a magic that tells in musical notes an ancient culture, an intellectual and artistic achievement dating back to pre biblical times. They carry it in their genes. It involves and penetrates the listener with a veil of mystery, fascination, enchanting and mesmerizing grace and allure. It is eminently popular and at the same time pure and classical where both elements mix together and it is extremely hard to sort out where the popular is overtaken by the classical or the other way around. Unique, unparalleled and incomparable.
So here they are 5 (not a quartet). Is this OK in order of appearance from left to right: Pepe, Lito, Celino, Celin, Angel? I am especially uncertain in the fourth guy right to Celino, if he is really Celin.
Actually, there originally were three sons and the father. One of the sons dropped out of the group and replaced by a grandson. Another grandson also plays. This must be the three brothers and two sons. the grandfather died.
A little over 24 hours ago I saw them in concert. The father and the three sons are the original quartet. Around 1995 father passed away. One of the sons, angel dropped out of the group to pursue other Maestro interests. So the vacant spots were filled In with lito who is Angel's Son and Celino who is Celine's son.. This must be one of those performance where they bring the brother on the stage with the quartet. Nice performance.

Greatest guitar virtuoso family of all time !
A Malaguena belongs to a branch of Spanish music known as Verdiales. Lecuona adapted this form to his composition.
A cuban composer. Ironically, created on the devastation of his country through the war. One of the all time, now even played at the olympic figure skating rings....
素晴らしい弾き語りです。
This happenen when one of the romeros wants to be an engineer and peer pressure just wont alllow him to be free..
ADORABLE,....GRACIAS !!
and that is how you put electric guitarists to shame...
A wild guess.. It's the first time you've ever heard this tune being played?
Volkan Özkan not even... I love this tune. This is like the 15th version. I am an electric guitarist and I feel small compared to those guys
well, depends on what you're playing. electric guitar is just completely different. there are great guitarist for example buckethead. he is also a genius writer
marino4691 well I am no Buckethead. I am trying to be a metal guitarist. However I really like classic guitar as well so right now I am conflicted

still amazing performance in 2022. Bravo~~~
My guitar teacher try to teach me this song, back in 1968. I didnt pay attention, Sorry Mrs taylor .
Wish someone would name them - left to right. This is amazing, I've seen Pepe play it himself, but this family arrangement is truly amazing. *S*
Super. What precision.
A Standing : Bravo!"

GREAT ARTISTS
Büyük efsane... Pepe Romero
Like the clowns in the circus, you have to be REALLY DAMN good at it to be able to twist it all around.
That ending!
FYI: the patriarch Celedonio Romero was born in Cuba of Spaniard parentage and brought his family to the U.S. in 1957.
EXCELENTE ARREGLO
First time I have heard Mallaguena sound like Zorba the Greek.
The effect is impressive.
cuando gravaron esto?
¿En donde dieron este concierto?

muito bom
Los Romero, en esta ocasión, interpretan malagueñas, no la "Malagueña" de Lecuona, inspirada en ellas.
If Los Romeros are normally a quartet who is the 5th man playing guitar? Is he a Romero who retired and came back for this special performance?
4 sons and the father
