Love your positive attitude to every experience and the true sense of wonder and joy you bring to every new experience. That’s what travel should be about and it’s fun to see you looking for the best local experiences instead of the familiar. It’s also enjoyable to see something upscale being reviewed by someone relatable rather than a jaded travel RUclipsr who’s seen it all and doesn’t look at a “treat” hotel, restaurant or attraction the way us ordinary people would. It feels like you are giving it a realistic assessment and are still able to enjoy perks and acknowledge the flaws without losing sight of the big picture. You also have the same attitude towards people that I always have when travelling and, as you are finding out, it pays off more than any possible downside. You treat everyone with kindness, respect and a smile. You seem truly interested in meeting new people, getting to know locals and are open to recommendations. Some of my best and most unique travel experiences and friendships have come from simple, honest friendliness. Most people are good and those who live in touristy places are happy to meet visitors interested in learning about the real place & people with no condensation or agenda.

We have a thing very similar to that black sausage thing 😂.
It’s called Haggis. It’s made from the liver, heart, and lungs of a sheep (or other animal), minced and mixed with beef or mutton suet and oatmeal and seasoned with onion, cayenne pepper, and other spices. It’s one of my favourite dishes. Especially when it’s inside chicken which is what we call balmoral chicken.

I stayed in Krakow for a week & had another week In Sopot near Gdańsk it was over ten years ago when new flights opened up. You wont believe it but I paid just over €16 for the two return flights. I found the food to be rotten until I found a HardRock Cafe in Krakow and I eat there every day. In Sopot I eat cake most of the time because I couldn’t find any digestible food but then I found a shopping centre where you could get toasties ham & cheese was my staple diet. I moved out of my hotel & booked into a self catering apartment and thought I’d cook my own food but when I went into their Lidl is in no way resembled the ones in Ireland, they didn’t even have a ton of baked beans. If I went again I’d definitely pack a whole load of my own food 😉
