How much power is this making I have don’t the same modifications up to now but I can guess what it will be running at and brilliant video as well mate 👍🏻
From Orranje I have been told that to put the MTC intercooler you have to adapt the clamps and add sealant, and for this reason they do not sell it. Is this true?
Unsure why they would say that, the pipes are very snug fit but certainly no sealant is required. This sealed and past boost leak test right off the bat. The clamps as you can see in the video are the stock items too, you do need to make sure they are placed correctly but its an easy job.
I wish the intercooler I bought fit my mini , it hit the spark plugs and wouldn’t push down any further so I sent it back. Do you have a link for the one you bought
Sorry to jump on this post so long afterwards, but was it a pain to get the clamps back on over silicone couplers? I installed jubilees, but I'm getting a small vapour leak of oil on the large horn side so thinking about going back to the original clamps
@@reallybrokenalways Thanks for the reply mate, when the weather improves I'll give them a go. Just for peace of mind if anything as I can't get a perfect fit on the jubilee
Hello, I also have a r53 and I want to put MTC intercooler and pulley 17%, is this intercooler performing well? Are the oem injectors valid? Would it be better than 380cc or 550cc? Congratulations on this great car :D !
Cheers. 17% reduction pulley really doesn't need a remap unless you do change the injectors. at 17% the stock injectors are not exactly taxed as the AFR's are well under 13:1. Again if a road car, stick with the stock injectors as you wont be in boost for long enough to see a lean event.
Hiya bud. I'm in Northamptonshire and tuning ,modding an R53 too over the last year. Have got it booked into 1320mini on Monday for a custom map.....i,ll let you know how it comes up numbers wise. Mods in the engine Dept are 17% pulley, similar intercooler to yours, Catbat exhaust, Dave F style custom airbox, MSD coil with 10mm leads, optimized bypass valve and 380cc injectors. The injectors are the main reason for this message to ya as it seems they well worthwhile when you start pushing the breathing forward so ive researched, but it does now struggle to start..turning over a bit more so hope the map will sort. The 210 JCW flash apparently works ok too if you can source it. I'm planning to seal the intercooler under hood using a brush draft excluder off of eBay to act as an airtrap......sounds bollox I know, but the theory sound! Oh yeah....also I run an electronic throttle controller, Sprintbooster or similar....feels like 30bhp added.
@@reallybrokenalways will do. I've been told that horse power gains from the tune at this level are not always huge..told I may only see three or four over what it has now, but should be slot smoother and better fuel consumption ( it's way rich).some say that you don't even need too map but the over fuel on start up has forced my hand. For your information the boys there said that the standard cats on the R53 work quite well....they use them still on the downpipe swaps with milltek and janspeed manifolds. Some after market cats loose power...some manifolds snap.....but overall the standard manifold is not overly too bad hence why I've left it out of the breathing tune. I dont think after this I will be doing any more engine work.... considered a Newman Cam before the map but I think it will be fast enough. Target HP figure is 210..... Fingers and everything else crossed.
I've installed a temp senor now so I can at least get a feel for the improvement. In terms of size over the stock unit, it's much thicker so it should be a good improvement. We have a track day booked soon so that will be the telling time.
OK so had chance to compare, at spirited driving ;-) speeds there is a dramatic difference over stock. We did notice on stock with the reduced pulley an odd "limp mode" cough......not anymore, no matter how hard I drove. Summer months should show a drastic improvement.
@@reallybrokenalways be interested to hear about any suspension, brake mods buddy that you plan...I can share my experience if interested and be interested to hear what you know. Seems swapping the RARB for a much larger 20-22mm unit transforms the handling pre trackday and it's what's on the list next for mine......SPEND SPEND SPEND🙈
I am having so much trouble with mine 😂😂😂 I can't get the fucker to seal right I don't have the mtc boots but everyone said the stock ones are better 😂😂but you just put it on with them and it worked but mine is a bitch

That whine!!! Weeeeeehhh
Can you not get a diverter for this IC? Or maybe it doesn’t need it?
7:32 You can see it's still arcing.... I was seriously considering buying one of those as a GRS is too much, but after seeing that I'm not so sure...
Yes correct, we sorted the issue by replacing the HT leads as they were old and split anyway.

Not really they needed caressing a little to get right but nothing too drastic.

hey did you get the intercooler from ebay?
No it came from a company online, I will try and find the details.
What brand is this Intercooler ?

Cheers dude! 1320 are not too far from us and were our thought for the remap too! Yes please let me know the improvement.

how many hp you got? Does it worth the price?
An upgraded intercooler won’t add much power, if any, but will help you KEEP power after doing multiple pulls, by keeping your IAT’s down
Where can I buy this inter cooler from?
@@Saadbinfuad no its not
Does the arching happen with every mini with upgraded intercooler
😂😂 Thankfully this was sorted quickly with better insulated leads.
Where can I get one ?

that intercooler, is better than the stock?

Lame video why skip how u installed the red rubber brands ?
It's not exactly a hard component to install. Lame comment!
