That is 100% correct! There IS a super wide spectrum of Jiu Jitsu. We see of course the more ground-based sport Jujitsu (BJJ, NoGi Grappling, etc.), more traditional Jiu Jitsu and modern "Street Combat" Jiu Jitsu. There are even schools that train for full contact Jiu Jitsu, which is like MMA, just with a Gi - btw as rare as full contact Jiu Jitsu is, it is somewhat comparable to combat Sambo, which gained more popularity lately, probably due to some famous chechen/russian MMA fighters in the UFC. Still Sambo took a lot of techniques from Jiu Jitsu and you won't find extensive ground fighting happening there, which is why I'd love to so see more of this very realistic full contact "corner" of Jiu Jitsu
