This CR review is biased and unfair, and the entire tone is unreasonably negative. We have ten Impalas (2010 to 2012) in our motor pool, and they have been very reliable. I have taken several of them on several business trips, and I prefer the 2012 because of the stronger engine. These are not BMW's, but they cost far less to purchase and maintain. Also, this reviewer's comments about interior comfort don't match my experience--- The front buckets work fine and are comfortable. Handling? Well, it is not nimble, but it is a full size car. The steering and body motion are predictable and stable, unless you are racing in the Grand Prix in Monaco. These (especially 2012 and 2013) are nice cars and great value---and, I do not work for GM or any of its dealers or suppliers.
It takes a mature driver to appreciate this car. It's very comfortable and the button layout is very straightforward. This reviewer was driving it as if it's direct competition is a Mustang GT. He never mentioned how it rides over bumps or how well it feels on the highway. Instead he was cornering as hard as he could and then mentioning that it feels sloppy. Well...no duh because it's meant to be a comfortable drive and sorry but you can't have sporty handling without compromising comfort. This car was built for those who need a reliable and TRULY comfortable mode of transportation without pretending the car has some sort of racing pedigree.
No sports sedan? This guy is nuts as I have a 2012 3.6 Impala and it is crazy fast! Rides awesome with plenty of leg room. This guy must work for Ford!
No sports sedan. It’s meant to ride smooth and floaty. It does ride nice but very outdated in terms of ride and features. If anyone paid $30k new they got ripped off.
Love my 2012 LZ! This guy is crazy saying the cabin's too small. I weigh as much as a linebacker, and there's more than enough room for me! I guess he was mad he couldn't make pancakes in there while driving....
This guy is obviously biased for whatever reason, he knew he was gonna give a bad review before he even drove it. I have one of these and love it. The noise of the 3.6 that "comes through the cabin" is music to my ears, I love the ticking of the vvt and the engine sounds nice. Not very loud at all. This car was not meant to handle like a Camaro or Corvette, Impala's were not built to push hard around every corner. This car to me is incredibly comfortable to drive on long trips and there is more than ample room to fit 4 adults. Try saying that about a mustang or whatever else this guy is trying to compare it to. Trunk is huge and 300 hp with 30 mp highway can't be beat. You can find plenty of these used with low miles for under 20K. So I wonder what else you can buy for under 20K with a 6 speed, 300 hp, 30 mpg and very comfortable ride.... Maybe this guy can tell us? For this car being what it was designed to be which is a mid size family car not a sports sedan, I do not think there is a better deal out there. I do not understand why people hate on these maybe its cause they never owned one.
Just bought a Police 2012 today! with ONLY 27k miles & an amazing 15 idle hrs. It was owned by the Utah Motor vehicle dept. it has telescopic steering. Oil cooler upgraded electronics, Suspension, Transmission, roll cage, upgraded cooling system. I am replacing the Stereo with a 2G head unit that also has a Backup Camera, Apple, Google, Bluetooth, HD stereo.
I just bought 2012 , 3.6 VVT (300H.P.) Chevy Impala LT . I've drove cars from 80's , 90's and this car rides like a dream and was worth every penny I saved for it 😀
Very very poor report. I just bought a 2013 Impala and it is absolutely amazing. On the first day I took it on a long vacation trip and it performed fantastic in every given situation. Gorgeous vehicle!
I just bought a 2013 Chevy Impala and am completely happy with it. I am 7feet tall and with the wheel tilted I am very comfortable.Has Most room of any cars I test drove. This guy paid $29,000. I paid 15,000. They saw him coming. what a tool. It is decked out with everything I could want. It handles great too. Don't listen to this guy and go test drive one. You will fall in love with it.
I purchased a 2012 LS in January of 2013 for 15,700. It was fleet car, but it had been maintained well. I've got up to 34 miles a gallon on the highway and love how quiet it runs. The vvt engine sounds cool, and it provides a smooth ride. Go buy a sports car, and I'll keep my impala 8-).
I have an 09 Impala ls and it's amazingly indestructible I was in an accident where a mustang hit me in the front right fender and very little damage was done to my car but the mustang had it's front bumper eating the windshield. I've also outran a lot of vehicles in this car and it handles great this guy does not know what he's talking about this car is awesome. As long as u keep up w the maintenance it'll last a long time
I just sold a 99 Jeep Cherokee and got a 08 Impala LTZ. What an upgrade! The Impala rides and steers so smooth compared to what I was used to. It has a nice sound system, and I find the climate control easy to use. I love the heated leather seats, and my drivers seat back is powered. The seats don't seem very bolstered, but I can tell that I'm going to love driving long trips in this car. The back seat is comfortable and there is plenty of room. It's not hard to see why these are probably the most common car in my area. I think it's a good looking car too.
It's not that bad. I don't like my 2012 as much as I do my 2014 I had, but the 2012 is solid. It's powerful, and comfortable, and very reliable. And it has an angular, dignified sort of appearance; one you recognize from miles away, and one that seems confidently settled with itself. I like the way its good braking and old style hydraulic steering drive. And its excellent ride is COMFORTABLE; like luxury-nameplate comfortable. I totally understand that the new generation is technically better. And I totally plan to get back into one someday, once my current loans are paid off. But I don't live in a critic's world, where things like a telescoping steering wheel or a power seat recliner make or break a car choice for me. I have a well-maintained, spacious, confident car that's only five years old, and is affordable on gas for somewhere around $9,000. Actually, 4K after my last trade-in... I'm good with the 2012-2013 Impala.
I agree, I drove the 2012 Impala on a long distance trip and many shorter ones since. This is a great car, good on fuel, comfortable, very good acceleration. Yes, I am a GM Fan...
I just got a 2015 LTZ and it is awesome! Loaded w BOSE stereo and fast!!! For the price I paid w only 50k, it is a great vehicle! Rides great and great MPG's. Mine not so much because I love to feel the 300hp!
I own a 2013 Impala LT (actually it's my wife's car), and while it's not as fancy as the 2014 new style Impala, for what I paid for it (it was an ex fleet car), I think it's VERY quick, handles pretty well, & is roomy. (my wife likes a larger car, we replaced her 03 LeSabre with the Impala) It looks pretty sporty with it's dual exhaust (I added factory tips), sunroof & spoiler. Throw in victory red paint, & I've got a sporty, quick sedan! For cheap!
Bought a 2014 and I am very impressed and I just love it. BTW, I also own a BMW 745i. I enjoy the practicality and reliability. Beats a German car any day.
Fully equipped Impala LT 2007 here (with optional sunroof, TCS, ABS and 6 seats). Of course it doesn't ride like a sports car because it ain't. But there is something about how a big Chevrolet feels that you won't replace for nothing, if you like Chevrolet. Even mine with the 214hp old pushrod V6 feels decent. It won't beat other cars on the light, but I sure leave all those little 4 cylinder engines behind on uphills. The only downside is that the car does require maintenance. It's not a Toyota. And it's expensive. So far I've had to replace the front rotors, throttle body, fix the sunroof and the turn signal lever. Doing a tuneup in a couple of months now that the car has 96,000 miles on it. The trick with these cars is to drive them gently and maintain them before they break. Don't let any warning light go on or it will be too late. Other than that, I love my car. Looks beautiful for an 8 year-old car, has more equipment than you can ask for, it's super comfy, the old grunty V6 sounds pretty nice and performs like a champ considering the weight of the car and clumsy gearbox. Oh, and it does magic with gas (better millage than my best friend's 2.4 l4 2011 Camry). This car has that charm that only another Impala owner can appreciate.
You said a lot of good things here. Most drivers don't drive their cars gently; they do jack rabbit starts from every light-then slam on the brakes every 100 yards or so, drive fast over speed bumps and parking lot entrances, rarely check the oil, and perhaps the most cardinal sin of them all: slamming the doors with each entry and exit. All of this just about guarantees that a GM car will turn into a clapped out rattle trap in a few short years. Hondas & Toyotas (and Fords to a lesser extent)are engineered to take the abuse that most drivers subject their cars to.
I had a 2003 Chevy Impala LS 3.8 V6 4 speed auto I like it gave me no trouble put 115,000 miles and traded for a 2007 Chevy Impala LT 2 with a 3.9 V6 4 speed auto which I liked Just as much and traded with 110,000 miles on it. I now I have a 2014 Chevy Impala Limited with the 3.6 and 6 Speed auto. It is this body style because it's the fleet model. I enjoyed all 3 of my Impalas thus far.
Compared to what in its price range? This guy is nuts I love my LTZ. The 3.6 is a beast and has no problem putting the power down. Can't speak for the non LTZ model but mine handles very nicely. As far as I'm concerned the LTZ is a sports sedan on a budget. And as far as cabin space goes I pick this car over my wife's Buick Lacrosse any day of the week. I'm 6'2 and 260lbs. I'm very comfortable in this car.
Plus I might add that I still see quite a lot of 2010 era impalas STILL around here in 2020 so they must be reliable to last for over 10 years !!:D!!! It's sad tho cuz I don't see the 2003 era impalas around as much as the 2010 ones I guess cuz there older and have passed there time I c very few 03 ones still around it's kinda rare and the 03 ones r my fav era impala but 2010s ones look good too I can't choose between the 2 era impalas there all so perfect I love impalas >w
I have a 2011, nothing wrong with these cars at all... As far as room is concerned my bro has a 2013 4 DR Sierra and I felt like I was in a sardine can while sitting in the front. Centre console and door against my legs, knees almost in the dash. Yes the handling isn't the greatest it's not a sports car, it's a big comfy couch made for a set of 22's and cursing around town it. This guys a Pencil neck geek.....
Its not a bad car but just outdated in terms of body style, interior materials, handling, and stereo (No USB port). Prior to 2012 all Impala's used a 4 speed automatic trans. which made the transmission/engine dated too. Just a basic car that is both comfortable and reliable with some technology lacking. After all you don't need/use that many things in a car anyway. The main thing you need is a good radio.
I own a 2013 LTZ and it growels, is fun to drive and HELLO its and Impala not a Beamer. This guy and Consumers Reports Mag obviously do not like Chevy Impalas. They are kind of utilitarian but not modest and affordable. Mine has plenty of power and handles just fine, and yes it does have big comfy seats just like the jackwagon said.
Let's be honest here, these were built for rental and fleet service. Very few actual consumers bought them new. As a used low-mileage car, maybe it's ok. The 2014 is a whole different story; modern, appealing, well crafted. It's like GM woke up.
I just recently bought a 2014 Limited LT and it’s nice I love it you get 300 hp and you get 30 miles to the gallon on the highway and I just recently installed a spoiler on mine and it ties it all together really nice car I recommend it And also it’s all depends on what people see you never know they may fall in love with the car if they actually drove first. I fell in love with the car after I first test drove it
I have one exactly like this except with the dark grey interior. I drive it 100 miles a day. And its my favorite out of my 3 vehicles. It just hit 200k miles last Thursday.
he is only telling the cons about the car ..i've drove one cuples mouths ago from jacksonville to miami is a 6 hour drive and let me tell tell you the suspension is terrific i for long trips is a cloud and a gas zipper for what it is i managed to get 27mpg at 85 mph!! and though the back sit is a bit cramped they are very comfortable for long trips, and also the car has good visibility too and has good brake feel .plus some very good soft touch surfaces. BTW I AM NOT A GM FAN IM JUST BEING FAIR.
you people have no idea what in god name your talking about.I just purchased a 2013 this past Feb and i love it .So i totally disgree what you said about this car.I love how it handles and the breaking is awsome and the seats are very comfortable so go back consumer reports and do your homework better on this car because you so fail
Mine is the LT and it’s perfect, just the standard 3.5 but it’s fast still not even really slow it’s really fast for the 211 hp we get up to speed fast af
I really feel like this guy doing this review really didn't know what he was driving, let alone what he was talking about, I own a 2015 Impala LT Limited(with the same 3.6 engine that in the car he reviewed) that I brought late last year with 41,971 miles on it(now has about 47,215 miles on it) and love it, sure it may not the most stylist car in its class, but it get you where you need to go and in a hurry if need be, it has plenty of interior room and it has a huge trunk, and it drives pretty well in all weather conditions(tires playing a part of coarse), it may not be a Camaro or Corvette in the handling department, but its not meant to be, but its all comes down to what YOU like and look for in a car, and for him to say the Malibu(a Mid-Size car) of the same vintage having more room than the Impala(a Full-Size car) made me not take his review seriously.
After owning two of these I wish I had the pleasure of walking into the GM dealership and ordering my '13 impala brand new from the factory and being able to see that crystal red tincoat in factory fresh condition. I bet whoever owned it before me really felt good inside when they saw it for the first time.
No idea what this dude is going on about but he is definitely biased and unreasonable, trying to treat this like a sports car when it’s a full size sedan. It has strong power, great handling, and a very smooth ride and sound. Dude was driving it as hard as he could.
I just drove one of these over the weeknd and it handles and leans like a drunk man it feels sloppy as as hell..but the 3.6s acceleration is surprisingly crisp quick on the pickup.. but the inside of the car feels and looks 13 years old
I agree with him about this model Impala lacking features. I agree with the backseat. It's way too small for a larger car and not useable how it should be. There is no way 3 grown adults can sit comfortably back there on a long road trip. Only kids can fit comfortable back there. A complete jock describes the back seat. Now any vehicle going over a bumpy road is going to rock and bob. How stupid of him to judge this Impala on that. Keep in. Ind this Impala does not have the best suspension but the ride is soft. It's meant to absorb bumps, highway cruise, and is basically a smooth ride. I know this from owning a 2010 Impala LS .
I have a 2004 Impala Ls and its great. I just baught my wife 2012 Impala ltz and its awseme, way faster than my 04 Impala. Minor downfalls is more blind spots on the new one, and im not used to electronic throttle control. Other than that Im really happy for my wifes new impala, especially the value!..
Your crazy in my impala it has a huge back seat and I'm pretty sure that you don't have the traction control on cuz my turns really easy and make sure that you have power steering
+Noah ortega Traction Control moderates wheelspin when accelerating from low speeds. It doesn't have any effect on cornering ability. Every Impala of this generation has power steering, manual steering is unavailable.
I agree that the backseat isn't very big for a car this size but that's where my agreement stops. I think the car drives great and has plenty of power. I actually think the cars handling is pretty darn good. This guy is way off base.
I actually like the way this car corners, and this is coming from a guy who used to push his civic coupe to the limits. Body lean is no big deal because the car is so ffing predictable, and its an impala for Pete's sake. I still like to play hard, but I want it to be comfy 95% of the time. If it is a big deal, just throw a bigger sway bar in there or go ham on the whole works. This car is such a bargain. I know its not trendy but I can't figure out why people rag on it. I love the interior. I think everything looks and works better than most comparable models, though I wish they used higher quality plastic on the lower part of the dash. The big gripe I have with this car is something they didn't even cover and that's interior storage. There is plenty of room inside. Its comfy. Beyond the seats its just not fully utilized imo, at least in my trim. The manual features work better than electronic versions in most vehicles on the impalas I've seen, so completely disregard any snarky people there if that's your thing. PS, that engine noise.....This engine sounds friggin awesome. You will love the sound the 3.6 makes on acceleration, and appreciate the quiet cruising. This car isn't for everyone obviously, but its definitely something you should test drive. I was so ready to hate it, and its just a wonderful car in a simplistic way. I've seen it astonish Japanese buyers, maybe not so much if you are coming from a beloved European automobile.
Another biased Consumer Reports review.....what an import loving douch bag. .As I write this, I'm renting a 2013 Impala and I have to admit, I really like this car. The new 3.6 is a kick ass engine and coupled with the 6 speed auto, it really makes driving this car fun. If I were shopping for a new car I probably wouldn't search this car out for its styling or less than world class interior but the good deals offered on these cars make them a great value. I don't know where the 29K number came from......they sell for a lot less than that. GM definitely makes a good powertrain. I drove a Nissan Maxima last week and still prefer the Impala. Both have similar HP ratings but the Impala wins for performance and styling. The gimpy CVT trans that the Maxima also has doesn't help. Although quarter mile times are similar, the Impala feels (and sounds) faster. With traction control off, the Impala will roast the tires in a cloud of smoke. I will miss this car when I return it to Avis.
i rented one for three days... with leather and a sunroof.. no bench seat... i felt claustrophobic, i had room and at 6'3 with the seat all the way back i couldnt reach the pedals, but it just....the car feels HUGE and you expect to be able to sprawl out...but you cant. i think if it had the bench seat and no leather (damn that leather is stiff) or sunroof id have liked it more. the interior is so cheap..but the 3.6 is the best part. it sounds and feels awesome and gets great mpg beating on it
@TheBadBuffalo You can buy one today for less than 20K, when you throw in rebates and discounts. That is a pretty great value, in my book. What are you comparing it to?
You can get one today for less than 20K when you count rebates and discounts. It's not perfect, but it's much better than this video makes it sound like. Please go drive one yourself and then you decide-- for 20K, you can't do better for this price.
I can't believe there are people out there defending this dud, I rented one and it SUCKED. This guy pretty much hits the nail on the head, good performance, big trunk, and that's it. Rear seat space is similar to what you'd find in a subcompact, squishy, uncomfortable front seats that you constantly slide in and out of during hard cornering, interior materials that are probably the same material that's used to make Little Tikes baby playpens, just a complete joke compared to any of it's modern competition, like the 2008 Accord 4-cyl EX-L that I drive.
Bring back the bench seat. I know the 2012.13 have them but try to find one. If your a larger person try a 2000-05 Lesabre its great even better then the crown vic. I hate those massive consoles in the new cars the 2012,13 impala console at least is the skinnest of them all.
I have a 2010 Chevrolet Impala 9C1 (Police Package), and I can say that is roomy, solid, and reliable; I don't know where this man gets his ideas, but he's wrong.
I have a 2013 chevy impala LT that i owned since may of 2013 n yes this is the longest i ever owned a car i wanna trade it in for the new model but im in love wit it ima 6ft7in big fella n i fit in it perfect wit plenty of room i even can get 4 friends in it ( I wouldn't suggest doing that for long road trips) lol but it get the job done n it got plenty of speed if u need anymore then what it put out u shouldn't b looking a family sedan anyway i dont kno what this guy talking about he must work for ford 😂😂...
I disagree with this review. I have driven the Impala and i love it.Comfortable to drive, good on fuel consumption. Handling? very good, I would recommend this car to anyone.
Guy sounds like a Road and Track snob who only test 80k German cars, love my 2014 fleet Impala, great car, family loves taking it on trips better than our 2013 Sonata.
He's not talking about the 2014. Consumer Reports (which he works for) reviewed the 2014 and LOVED it. They were blown away by it because of how bad the previous one was.
This review didn't sound too positive tbh ..plus impalas are my all-time favorite cars :D!! I adore the body style so much and the car all together it's rly a damn shame they had to discontinue impala I'll miss those cars :3
oh whaaaaa.........can somebody please tell me when car reviewers became so helpless that controlling the temp inside a car yourself became a problem? god...and if you look at the car travelling the rough road...it looks to be doing exactly what it should without ANY movements being excessive.
I've driven 8 different impalas and I would never but one . The transmissions are junk, the traction controll causes problems.Theres no room to si behind the drive even for a child. It's not a family car but it does ride nice and accelerates pretty quick. Automatic/Manual buttons are on the steering wheel behind the cruise control buttons. Not a good set up.
yeah its the same car since 2006 but the drive train got a big upgrade. Impala is a simple car made for men and DIYers these cars are much easier to work on then most modern cars try working on the new model impalas its like working on a VW.
@remelsheikh I agree that this car is a dinosaur, but I don't think it would go bankrupt if it was its own company. They sell alot of these to company and rental fleets.
What is he talking about I have a 2010 impala LT 3.5 loaded never had an issues I get 30 on highway and about 23 in city cheap to maintain and insure but I hate that slow 4 speed automatic always downshift I guess to max fuel economy lol
@ATRichard Man i'm glad. Cause its like they completely forgotten about this car while they upgrade almost every vehicle they have including new models like the cruze. I saw the leaked photos of the impala they are working on. i saw the interior and its seriously stepping up to this generation. Now i won't feel like i have to buy one car from chevy to get the best.
This car sux! I have a 2013 chevy impala. This past year nothing but problems. Biggest problem is actuators going out constantly. Has cost me so much money trying to keep this car up and running. It is also a gas guzzler. I agree with this guy when he says stick to a malibu. My previous car before this was a malibu and never any issues. My niece has it now and it still runs good. I am so ready to give up the impala and get a new car.
Anybody who thinks CR is being too critical has got to try one of these things out. They are simply awful and hideously out-dated vehicles. If you think these are competitive, I'm afraid to inform you that you are uneducated and don't know what you're talking about...everything else on the market is better than this thing with little to no exception.
Bought my 2012 Impala LTZ for a song in March with 80K mi. Put on 10K more mi on it. It's an effortless comfortable car with a great Bose stereo and comfortable seas. The 3.6 w 300 hp is super fast. best car for the money I ever bought EVER!
This CR review is biased and unfair, and the entire tone is unreasonably negative.
We have ten Impalas (2010 to 2012) in our motor pool, and they have been very reliable. I have taken several of them on several business trips, and I prefer the 2012 because of the stronger engine.

Trevor Bell I know right I bet you this guy a ford person or owns a ford
Not only that... the back seat of a Malibu.. is 52 inches.. the back seat of the impala is 57 inches.
😂
This guy is obviously biased for whatever reason, he knew he was gonna give a bad review before he even drove it. I have one of these and love it. The noise of the 3.6 that "comes through the cabin" is music to my ears, I love the ticking of the vvt and the engine sounds nice. Not very loud at all. This guy is nuts,we have a 2012 Impala ltz,we love it and my wife loves"getting on the expressway"! Rides nice and handles great!
Love mine too. Couldn't agree more
Just bought a Police 2012 today! with ONLY 27k miles & an amazing 15 idle hrs. It was owned by the Utah Motor vehicle dept. it has telescopic steering. Oil cooler upgraded electronics, Suspension, Transmission, roll cage, upgraded cooling system. And it was only $8599.00
You got a steal
I just bought 2012 , 3.6 VVT (300H.P.) Chevy Impala LT . I've drove cars from 80's , 90's and this car rides like a dream and was worth every penny I saved for it 😀
Very very poor report.

7 feet, man, that's tall.
I'm 6'3" and have plenty of room in my 2005 Impala.
shorty Olson I also bought a 2013 Chevrolet impala recently and I couldn't be happier
I purchased a 2012 LS in January of 2013 for 15,700. It was fleet car, but it had been maintained well. I've got up to 34 miles a gallon on the highway and love how quiet it runs. The vvt engine sounds cool, and it provides a smooth ride. Go buy a sports car, and I'll keep my impala 8-).

this guy is nuts. i love my 2014 impala fleet. its my 3rd impala. from 2007 ls, 2010 lt
For cheap!
Mike Slomski I also have a 2013 impala lt
The 2014 Impala is a full re-design.. I will keep my 2012
Bought a 2014 and I am very impressed and I just love it.
I am black and/or mexican & I love my Chevrolet impala
Compared to what in its price range? This guy is nuts I love my LTZ. The 3.6 is a beast and has no problem putting the power down. Can't speak for the non LTZ model but mine handles very nicely. As far as I'm concerned the LTZ is a sports sedan on a budget. And as far as cabin space goes I pick this car over my wife's Buick Lacrosse any day of the week. I'm 6'2 and 260lbs. I'm very comfortable in this car.
Some people saying the 2012 impala LTZ V6 3.6 Liter meter is a sport sedan and some people saying not a sport sedan witch one is it?
I just recently bought a 2014 Limited LT and it’s nice I love it you get 300 hp and you get 30 miles to the gallon on the highway and I just recently installed a spoiler on mine and it ties it all together really nice car I recommend it
And also it’s all depends on what people see you never know they may fall in love with the car if they actually drove first. I fell in love with the car after I first test drove it
This guy said it's small on the inside then immediately says it's big and accommodating like a couch? Where'd They find this guy?
Impala is huge on the inside lmaooooooo this guy is nuts
Not a good value?? You can get a 2013 LTZ with
Love my impala proud owner of a 2008 LT model bought it as a used rental last year for 11k its a great reliable car
you people have no idea what in god name your talking about.I just purchased a 2013 this past Feb and i love it .So i totally disgree what you said about this car.I love how it handles and the breaking is awsome and the seats are very comfortable so go back consumer reports and do your homework better on this car because you so fail
SHS854EVER what trim level is your 2013 impala
true
Mine is the LT and it’s perfect, just the standard 3.5 but it’s fast still not even really slow it’s really fast for the 211 hp we get up to speed fast af
Do yours first. The seats may not seem bad but they really are compared to what else is out there. Steering is pretty bad to.
Love my 2012 impala only got 48000 miles and runs great
Same here I have a red '13 with 60 thousand miles on it. trying to preserve it
I really feel like this guy doing this review really didn't know what he was driving, let alone what he was talking about, I own a 2015 Impala LT Limited(with the same 3.6 engine that in the car he reviewed) that I brought late last year with 41,971 miles on it(now has about 47,215 miles on it) and love it, sure it may not the most stylist car in its class, but it get you where you need to go and in a hurry if need be, it has plenty of interior room and it has a huge trunk, and it drives pretty well in all weather conditions(tires playing a part of coarse), it may not be a Camaro or Corvette in the handling department, but its not meant to be, but its all comes down to what YOU like and look for in a car, and for him to say the Malibu(a Mid-Size car) of the same vintage having more room than the Impala(a Full-Size car) made me not take his review seriously.
After owning two of these I wish I had the pleasure of walking into the GM dealership and ordering my '13 impala brand new from the factory and being able to see that crystal red tincoat in factory fresh condition. I bet whoever owned it before me really felt good inside when they saw it for the first time.
Are you kidding me? This Car is HUGE in the inside!!
Got a 2016 impala limited, and I love her, her name is pala
hahahahaha
No idea what this dude is going on about but he is definitely biased and unreasonable, trying to treat this like a sports car when it’s a full size sedan. It has strong power, great handling, and a very smooth ride and sound. Dude was driving it as hard as he could.
I agree. I think he and his husband didn’t like it is all.
I don't agree with their assessment of the car, I recently rented one for two weeks and loved it. The best part is the new motor and transmission.
Dude is a joke. Just got a 2012 Impala for $5400 and I'm in love with it. Rides very smooth, handles like a dream, and gets up and goes very nicely!
i rented one for three days... with leather and a sunroof.. no bench seat... i felt claustrophobic, i had room and at 6'3 with the seat all the way back i couldnt reach the pedals, but it just....the car feels HUGE and you expect to be able to sprawl out...but you cant. i think if it had the bench seat and no leather (damn that leather is stiff) or sunroof id have liked it more. the interior is so cheap..but the 3.6 is the best part. it sounds and feels awesome and gets great mpg beating on it
How good is the driver's seat Lumbar Support? Is it effective?
@TheBadBuffalo You can buy one today for less than 20K, when you throw in rebates and discounts. That is a pretty great value, in my book. What are you comparing it to?
The Impala is the best car ever
Dude your driving a VW Bus, a step up from a smart car, and your complaining about an Impala you are an @$$
You don't no . Cars Lil boy.
I have a 2013 chevy impala LT that i owned since may of 2013 n yes this is the longest i ever owned a car i wanna trade it in for the new model but im in love wit it ima 6ft7in big fella n i fit in it perfect wit plenty of room i even can get 4 friends in it ( I wouldn't suggest doing that for long road trips) lol but it get the job done n it got plenty of speed if u need anymore then what it put out u shouldn't b looking a family sedan anyway i dont kno what this guy talking about he must work for ford 😂😂...
james mitchell my 2013 impala is also a LT
I disagree with this review. I have driven the Impala and i love it.Comfortable to drive, good on fuel consumption. Handling? very good,
I would recommend this car to anyone.
The fleet is the last gen Impala.
Such a bs review lol I my self have the LT 2013 model it has the power seats and all crap...
Alfredo Diego I also have a 2013 Chevrolet impala lt
I'd like to get my hands on the Police Version. They are generally better drivers than the civilian ones and more "bare bones" which I like.
The upcoming 2014 looks way better but two 4 bangers are a turn-off imo.
This review didn't sound too positive tbh ..plus impalas are my all-time favorite cars :D!! I adore the body style so much and the car all together it's rly a damn shame they had to discontinue impala I'll miss those cars :3
Chevy Impala, large, fast, comfortable USA car, good for highway trips. See the country today in your Chevrolet!
oh whaaaaa.........can somebody please tell me when car reviewers became so helpless that controlling the temp inside a car yourself became a problem? god...and if you look at the car travelling the rough road...it looks to be doing exactly what it should without ANY movements being excessive.
11 years later the v6 is a endangered species
Love my 2013 impala.
LT= LARGE TRUNK.
Not a good set up.
from the beginning of the video you could tell this guy was bias against chevy vehicles
Bad review! Take another look!
Your glasses and style is wack lol I love my impala
The replacement would benefit from RWD, Reskinning the Pontiac G8 would be a good place to start.
Typical Consumer reports review..........
And ours is 2011 so that's why.
Who let this hater review the Chevy impala?
No , he is just a Consumer reports tester .
What's the 0-60 with the new engine?
It's the same car since 2006...I don't see how it's a good car either. :? If the design was 2009 or newer, then it wouldn't be so bad.
yeah its the same car since 2006 but the drive train got a big upgrade. Impala is a simple car made for men and DIYers these cars are much easier to work on then most modern cars try working on the new model impalas its like working on a VW.
wow he doesn't like it is had one for a rental and it felt great I had room now I thinking of buying a used one for a work car
I agree, Matt.
To me the 00-05 is bigger inside mainly in the back seat..
29k for that is robbery but used its a great deal
@remelsheikh I agree that this car is a dinosaur, but I don't think it would go bankrupt if it was its own company. They sell alot of these to company and rental fleets.
Isn't this car due for a redesign????
What is he talking about I have a 2010 impala LT 3.5 loaded never had an issues I get 30 on highway and about 23 in city cheap to maintain and insure but I hate that slow 4 speed automatic always downshift I guess to max fuel economy lol
bring back the G8 as the caprice already!!
Get the 5.3 V8 or 3.9 V6!
Had no idea this design model was still around. Yes time for a change... like back to 1996.
@ATRichard To me the 00-05 is bigger inside mainly in the back seat..
You want performance and great handling for a big car get the SS.
$29K for that, HA!
I agree
