Fun little thing. If you use cheat codes to unlock the phase through objects ability before the Melchiah battle, you can get him to chase you outside of the boss arena. I do it every time, because it's pretty funny to kite him around, and watch his model struggle with the environment.
One of your best lore bites videos yet! Melchia and his clan are among the creepiest enemies in the series. The lore is dark, gruesome and fascinating. It fits so well with the Nosgoth universe established in Blood Omen.
I admire your passion man! I really think you're amongst the best lore youtubers. Too bad LoK is pretty niche, otherwise your sub count will be hundreds of thousands! Thanks for sustaining the dream!
You know it makes sense as the Melchahim would dabble in both alchemy and necromancy as it would mean that his dominion's stretched into what once the lands of Dark Eden and Nupraptor's Retreat would tell why they would be into a more dark mystic style where as his brothers all had their own separate niches (which I will put my opinion in the hat in those videos). But the sad part was as the years passed I feel that this was slowly lost as most of the offspring of Melchiah were devolving far more quickly than even the Dumahim was and eventually given zero choice I felt Melchiah selected the best looking of his subjects and just kept absorbing them into himself and the rare human who was stupid enough to make their way into his territory. And I do think he could've escaped the chamber as it was coming down but a part of me felt like he wanted it to end because he was tired of living in his rotting carcass and thought that Kain would make short work of him like he did in the past....if only he knew how wrong he was.
Im a younger Lok fan whose only experience of the franchise is watching the cutscenes and lore videos on youtube, but if they ever do remakes of Lok i personaly think they should do Soul Reaver 1 first it would be perfect to draw in new fans because the story dosent require knowledge of Blood Omen to understand the basic jists of it. But if you do know Blood Omens story you get alot of i know what thats refrencing moments out of it. Plus imagine how stunning the enviroments would look if it was made in Unreal Engine 5 And a remake could potentialy ad in cut content and ad in lore elemenrs from the later titles like Defiance
12:50 I don't think that's Malek. I think it's the priestess. I mean, she was supposed to be in the game and the developers likely didn't have enough time to cut her out
Funnily enough, the developer that created the screen did say it was the priestess when initially asked but then corrected himself to say he'd got it wrong and it was actually meant to be Malek.
This game need a remake so badly! Why the fuck is Tomb Raider getting ANOTHER remake and not this one?!? The lore and world of this game is SOOOO much richer and more interesting than Tomb Raider.
Remembering when I first time playing this game, I had a problem fighting the first boss only to know that it involved using environmental "weapons" against him (and the rest of the "brothers"). And thanks for the backstory of Melchiah, I didn't even know his deformed body is actually the body parts of his victims! He literally looks like The Thing would have looked like on the PS1!
Nice video. I always felt sorry for the sort of Vampire Melciah became and I often wondered how he did not want to end his existence earlier. The funny thing is that if he was turned into a vampire through Janos and Vorador's method he would never have had the physical problems he had to endure as a vampire. That being said I don't think their method would have worked on him as I think it only worked on living humans. I assume Kain was never shown how to create a vampire like Janos and Vorador did hence he had to come up with his own method which was probably similar and based on Mortanius's method as it seemed Kain's method only worked on corpses. I know Kain's method was sort of explained in the Soul Reaver 1 manual but they never seemed to explain how Vorador and Janos did it. I often speculated that Mortanius's method was similar to Janos's method because he was originally kidnapped himself to become a vampire and maybe he witnessed the process of how humans were turned and as a result, he made his own method based on what he saw. Maybe it involved both the blood of the sired vampire and its soul or life energy because Mortanius needed Janos's heart to create Kain and I assume this was because it contained his soul or at least a portion of it and he used necromancy to do the rest as he did not have vampire blood to work with.
I'll be forever grateful to you for keeping this community alive

These Lore Bites are wonderful!
I've noticed that the sarafan sorceresses also have melchiah's clan symbol. Good video raina.

Thank you for the kind words! Without Baz taking over, this channel wouldn´t have new videos. Thankfully, there is more to come! :)

Thank you for all your videos. Please keep them coming. In my forties now, and I still love soul reaver.😊
Imagine Melchiah with Callisto Protocol graphic. I wouldn't even dare look at him!
I love this channel. Legacy of Kain is immortal.
So glad you are still doing these!
I want to see what Mechiah would look like with modern graphic
He' be so gross.
Me too, I'm sure it would be absolutely revolting.
Choose wisely: Callisto Protocol graphics or Resident Evil graphics?
amazing

Great video, thanks!
Yessssssss
Imagine how cool it would have been if Raziel and Vorador actually met in the past to coordinate their attack
They seriously need to bring this gem to the new gen consoles 😢
I'm here, let's goooooo!
Thank you!
Nice One!
Heh, I still remember being scared shitless of Melchiah as a kid because he could not be bested with normal weaponsXD
I really enjoy this
My favorite brother.

Quick question: how can Malek be seen on the main menu screen when he wasn't resurrected by Kain?
Because those are just representations of them.
Rahab's clan symbol looks like the sanskrit letter Ṅa/ङ

StrictlyFantasy would be proud of that. He made a similar video of that, but in more precise detail, Raina. Outstanding.
Where do you think they get their info from? 😜
