I found it interesting how Kain's powers in Defiance were basically an evolution of the dark gift he received from the Seer. In SR1 his powers seemed to be an evolution of the lightning spell he found in BO1 but more refined, he can launch electrical arcs from himself either offensively or more like telekinetic tethers. His original powerset gets rewritten due to the timeline changes in BO2 and he loses the lightning but gains a purer form of telekinesis from the Seer, by Defiance his TK power has grown into his main ability.
I like to think the Seer herself was around when the "Holy War" kicked off between the two ancient races, not blaming her as the one responsible because we know that the Elder God was the sole reason that whole thing came to pass but with the blood of both races and being able to peer into the future would have been a gift sought by both races because in LOK, Knowledge is as precious as life blood, however when the Hylden refused to join the wheel of fate both sides went to war and I think she disappeared out of disgust of both races given her immediate dismissal of Kain when he first came to her about The Mass. She's probably the most biggest oddity in the entire series and that's an achievement given the story.
I think this makes a good format for smaller lore videos. Like for characters and locations with not much background. But we can always learn something new even if small. I don't think I knew there was a prop version of the Soul Reaver in the Seer's home.
This was a fun video. I hope to see lots more lore bites. I love Blood Omen 2. I don't know how or why I came to this conclusion, but even when playing BO2 when it first came out, I assumed The Seer was a vampire hylden hybrid. Even though she's only in such a small part of the game, she instantly became my third favorite character
Nice video!! You mentioned it as Part 1, I wonder what Part 2 will be about as you said all the main details about her inside. Looking forward to see the next part!! ^^
Maybe she held out against the banishment in some warded structure, and Vorador found it and transformed her into a vampire in a similar way to how humans are, preventing the Pillars from targeting her when the wards failed.
It's good to have a little more details on the seer , this pretty much confirms what I've believed all along that she is a vampire Hlyden hybrid that survived the banishment due to her half blood lineage but was also afflicted by the blood curse which explains her age, her appearance mostly Hylden but not quite
Lets go!! make this one a series as well, whatever lok related content you guys upload i will see, after the lore bits series is over, you guys can go for a "theory series" i know lok aint no bloodborne as it is not a puzzle and its story is laid for the viewer, but there are mysteries and huge timelines/eras in nosgoth which are unexpored from which you guys can speculate and theorize, just a suggestion, Thank you both for your great work.
I think you might be thinking of Umah. There's no mention of the seer being turned in the interviews. In fact daniel cabuco has explicitly mentioned that the she was born hybrid
Mobius posed as the oracle of Nosgoth but what if the oracle was real? it would stand to reason most have heard of someone who can predict the future but never actually seen them, so the seer is the true oracle.
She seems a bit like some kind of hybrid between ancient vampires and the hylden based on her design. Maybe there were others. She doesn't seem fully vampire.
Now that I think about it - the Seer looks a lot like the Hylden how they first depicted themselves in the murals, prior to their demonic visage. I have always believed that she was one of the few Hylden, who were on the side of the Vampires, and did not want any war or conflict. Certanly, not all Hylden are bent on destroying and abusing everything they come into contact with. The Hylden Lord had his enemies from within - and she was one of them.
...and so when the Hylden cursed their enemies with immortal life and bloodthirst, she was among the afflicted angels, a single demon in their midst. A Vampiric Hylden.
@@Templayer There is nothing demonic about her, that's for sure. Unlike the rest of her kind, she is unaffected. But... could she be the one that cursed the Vampires then? It could work, but would be hard to understand why she would help them later.
I don't think it is, but I wish The Seer got explored more, I feel that something about her is very important to the potential restoration of Nosgoth...if such a thing is possible 🥲
I think she is simply a hylden and not a vampire as she is probably a less demonized or amimalistic hylden as maybe they all looked more like her before they were banished as the demon realm was supposed to have changed their appearance over time.
@@RainaAudron Ah okay I was not aware of this information. I thought only humans could be turned or converted to vampires because they are more genetically similar to vampires. Then again she still retained a lot of her Hylden features after a very long time unlike other ancient vampires that were turned from humans like Vorador and Kain that completely lost their human features. It seems that Hylden could obviously also be turned but their bigger genetic differences to vampires means that they are became just more hybrid like.
You guys keep the fandom alive

"Somewhat" is an understatement for how much she enjoyed her little experience with Kain. She moaned and called him her dark prince. 😂

It would be epic if this series got a remastered collection like the Tomb Raider collection did!😎👍
I literally only care about like 5 content creators and you're top of that list. I just get excited when new lore drops
Thank you for the kind words! 😊
Thanks for explaining. I suspected she was a hybrid.
I felt the Nosgoth seers dressed to imitate the Hylden, as most outfits had protruding back crests in some form.
Many thanks for another outstanding video Raina. I always wandered what ever happened to her during the Soul Reaver age?🤔
And so History unfolds once more...
I'm already hungry for part 2

whoa i didnt know you ould enter the seers house like that

great video
In one interview it hints that Vorador turned her.

She looks more bat-like IMO.
@@PsychoticLuke In an interview it hinted at Vorador, and that's why she owes him a favor.
@@Ieatpaste23 could be Voradors daughter? He had a portrait of a woman in his mansion. Maybe all of them are connected?
Thank you guys for still finding ways to post more content! I dunno what else to say, eeerrm, here, have twenty bucks

Good video raina.
OMG!!! This is her! The woman on the cover of The Dead Shall Rise graphic Novel! It's the Seer!
I don't think it is, but I wish The Seer got explored more, I feel that something about her is very important to the potential restoration of Nosgoth...if such a thing is possible 🥲
The Seer's clothes is quintessential 2002 overly-skimpy female clothes but now it's adorably edgy
If it was done now she'd look like a man in a dress, no breasts, pixie cut with one side shaved. She'd also be a girl boss.
Ahh, the elusive and mysterious hyldenussy
I think she is simply a hylden and not a vampire as she is probably a less demonized or amimalistic hylden as maybe they all looked more like her before they were banished as the demon realm was supposed to have changed their appearance over time.
It's been confirmed by Daniel Cabuco she's a hybrid. She has vampire fangs and hair.
