I'm glad you had a great time on marble show.😊 It was great to see those serious senior collectors doing shows and still having a good time doing it after many years and shows later. I seen a lot of passionate conversations and smiles while shopping. That tells me they are doing it for the right reason and hopefully inspire next generations preserving this art and history. You picked up a lot of nice marbles there. Thank you for educating rest of us who might not know that much about them yet. ❤
Man. I cant get into collecting marbles. I already collect comic books and magic cards. This makes my brain so happy though. The colors man. Very cool collection sir
Good video Shane. Your collection keeps growing quite a bit. Nice to see. See if you can find some Mexican Vacor Mosaico marbles as they are hard to find! Take care buddy...
Good marble haul....shows are fun and best sources for marbles variety. Love Marble Kings and good hybrids group...poor man watermelon type small marble...Masters are not as plentiful as some marbles but over years have built several cases. There are two Peltiers In your Marble Kings group...the Alox bag is hard to find, figure bag may have come from Alox stock that Nancy, daughter of Alox owner had..she sold a number years ago at a Cairo marbles show...Ron bought a number of bags. Come to Florida show in mid February at Panama City Beach...
Thanks Donald. I spent the last 18 years in FL. Thanks so much for the invite but I don't have any plans of going back. I love my Akro agates. I love German handmade onion skins. I guess it's a no-brainer that I'm into the Master's now. I hope to make the Canton Ohio show coming up next. Cheers and stay safe down there in the south.
I just looked for those Danny Boy Jabos on eBay.... not a damn single thing lol! Now you said the run was approximately 60k marbles correct? The Jabo Peltier Mansion run I've read is twice the size at 120k and those are some of the absolute prettiest modern style marbles I've seen
I have a big bag of marbles from my brothers and myself. All of them are older than 1970. I don't know what I have. I went to library to find books on identifying the marbles I have. I have some really cool ones. I'm getting a black light to see which ones glow. I guess I'm doing the right thing as a beginner.
Awesome video I completely agree it’s like scamming somebody with an antique Postcard or Bottle saying it’s original, but it was made within the last 20 years I completely agree. I think there should be more controversy videos like this in the antique community because nobody’s talking about it and everybody’s brushing it under the rug!!!!!
Was looking through the comments to see if anyone already mentioned this. The wirepulls indeed look to be Veiligglas, made in Amsterdam in the 1950's and 60's.
@@shaneapplegate1975 We used to call these wirepulls "spaghetti's" actually back in the day. Not too hard to find here in the Netherlands. The Veiligglas company (literally means "Safe glass") started making these marbles from the piles of 'left-over' glass.
@@DutchGem awesome info. If you ever want to trade some bags of marbles on the other side of the pond I would definitely be interested in getting more of these if there's something over here that you have a liking for.🍻
I am a Uk collector and have a lot of Vieligglas wirepulls in most styles and sizes. I also sell them on various marketplaces and might also be interested in a trade with you. Have you seen the opaque Veiligglas marbles?
@@Vorian174 they could be. I have several of those Amsterdam marbles. They also started showing up at the marble shows quite frequently over the last year.
💯yes sir. Marble history is full of grey areas and strongarm bullying business techniques. Everytime money is involved things always get murky just add humanity 😁

A Dutch company named Veiligglas made your wirepull marbles.
