      I have a small handful of marbles I know are old, and think they may be good ones, but theres so many types and manufacturers that it seems hopeless. Could i send u a group photo and get a little help identifying them ? Let me know, ans thanks again.

    I hadn't bought any bags of mixed junk for a long time. I decided to pick a few up at the show last week. To my surprise I actually found a few nice pelletier's for pennies on the dollar😮

    I believe a lot of the curious marbles that you have are Heaton agate company and Davis marbles. Lovely lot 100%.

    At 8:25 that looks like an Akro Carnelian. Cool variety!

      I think that's a definite possibility and is at the top of my guesses! I took it to the Omaha show and completely forgot to ask other's for their opinions
      Appreciate your thoughts!

    New collector here and quickly finding myself getting carried away on eBay! 😅 it's too easy to spend a lot of money on these beautiful marbles lol

    thebrown marble you said you did not know is a slag.

    • @metamibs
      @metamibs  Год назад

      Could you specify what time that marble appears in the video?
      I imagine you're referencing the swirl at 9:42 which is very close to a slag but not quite. The swirls in that marble contain a darker color glass than the base, not the required white glass to be a slag.

    the next to last bag is peltier

    • @metamibs
      @metamibs  Год назад

      I'd say that's a solid bet, although I'm still on the Vitro/Pelt fence ⚖

    I just picked up some marbles at an antique market today. Was wondering if you could help me identify them. They are for sale as well. If you would be interested in any of them I would give ya a good deal on em

    Cool video! Where do you get the round thing that you put the marbles on at?

      It's just one of those pop-toys for children, haha! Got one as a gag gift and it works perfectly for sorting mibs!

      Which marble are you referring to Joe?
      Perhaps the UV mib at 10:00? I don't think that one specifically is a cherry ade, although it seems mighty close!

    The blues look like ravenswood

    • @metamibs
      @metamibs  Год назад

      Would you provide a timestamp for the marbles you're referring to? I don't recall any that I would've marked as Ravenswood, but I'm also not the best with swirls!
      I would love to get another Ravenswood ID'd in my collection! I have just a few, and they're all pretty busted.

    the colors in your last bag are the same as the bag before it.

    • @metamibs
      @metamibs  Год назад

      They're close, but not quite the same. They could both be Peltiers, but the glass color/composition is different.
      Colors don't always show the best in video :/

    In reference to any Vitro, they all have the color red in them. It's something the makers decided from the beginning. Just a bit of info that helps me sort my Vitties.

    • @metamibs

      Wonderful tip, thanks for the info!

    • @rockkhound943
      @rockkhound943 Год назад +2

      @@metamibs you need to disregard that comment. There are many Vitros without red in them. They commonly used red but it was not a priority in every run that's for certain .

    • @metamibs
      @metamibs  Год назад

       @Rockkhound But then why would they call their marbles "All Reds"?!? (I jest)
      It is a funny thought to think they hid just the tiniest bit of red in each marble, like a secret.
      Thanks for the comment and correction Rockkhound! Discussion and nuance is half the fun of marble collecting, IMO.

    • @rockkhound943
      @rockkhound943 Год назад +3

      @Meta Mibs Yes marbles are in my opinion the most complicated hobby there is. So much diversity. The all reds is just a name that's not a full description of their whole entire marble library. Just for example, aqua Marines have no red in them.

      The first set of swirls give me a Ravenswood vibe the way the color ribbons dive into the marble and you see the little thumbnail shape windows the ribbons make.
