Do the Forerunners vs the Imperium of Man Pre-Horus Heresy.
Hey man, I saw The Rise of Skywalker yesterday and I just wanted to give my spoiler free opinion about the movie. I LOVED IT SO MUCH! It achieves what it needed: to conclude the saga and tell an interesting and emotional story. However, I understand some of the problems that critics are having with it, but I think this a love letter to the fans (and maybe an apology letter for people who disliked TLJ.) The pacing is sometimes too fast and I could have teared up more than once.
Daisy Ridleys and Adam Drivers acting is fantastic and their characters storyline is amazing! Rey has a lot of character development and her story makes a lot of sense now. The movie awnsers a lot of questions and I feel mostly satisfied. I hope you will enjoy it too, Eck!
Palpatine was creepy as hell!!😰
With the recent infatuation with Force ghosts, why are there no Sith Ghosts?
Government plans
Old Republic: Everything is OK no need for change.
Separatist: My boss is lazy af. I wanna quit
Palpatine: Tell me more.
Empire: OK lets get everything organized in here.
Rebels: My boss is a frekken Nazi. I wanna quit
New Republic: Everything is OK no need for change.
First Order: Yo my boy New Republic imma kick you out of the house cause you lazy dog.
New Republic: I dunno I don't wanna leave doh.
First Order: Bye Felicia.
When he took over Covell's mind and REPLACED parts of it with himself was chilling because he realized he could do that over distance to ALL the clones Thrawn made because they were only made of 20 or so variants. He would BE the Empire. Thrawn had no idea the power he awoke from slumber on Wayland
This is one of the reasons why C'Baoth is one of my favourite Legends characters.
@@Daldi564 Jerec is my favorite Darksider. His plan to use the Valley of the Jedi to give him the power of thousands of Jedi and Sith purely into himself. According to the Force Ghost of Jedi Master Qu Rahn, "If he succeeds in this he will become a creature the likes of which has never been seen before. The supernova of stars with a word, the eradication of life with a thought will be within his power."
I was honestly surprised after reading some of the EU books, Luke was the laid back funny guy while Mara was the kick ass take names no nonsense badass
Luke and mara honestly were a pretty good couple, Luke was the kind sensitive funny guy who would try to talk down a rough situation while mara as you said would just kick someone's ass
Mara is a female character done right.
@TheCrashingToaster ? What? How is carefree and a jokester beta? Luke literally kills people and flexes on people when he gets upset. Goes to the dark side and fought in several full scale wars, beta where?
@TheCrashingToaster There was the Crystal Star, where he is actually written as a little bitch; Austin McConnell has a great video on that. Most of the time he's the same as he is in the OT and it's what makes him a great counter to someone like Mara Jade. Luke may be powerful but he isn't threatening by nature, Mara on the other hand isn't as powerful but far more threatening.
Luke Skywalker: A calm and serene jedi, who always tries to find a non violent solution.
Mara Jade Skywalker: "So anyway I started blastin'."
Palpatine: Lawful Evil
Joruus: Chaotic Evil
Ironically, he wanted to control every sentient being in the galaxy. He himself might have been chaotic evil, but his goals were Lawful Evil.
@@levongevorgyan6789 Tenebrae is the same way as C'baoth, except he's much more powerful and destructive and somewhat less insane.
Thrawn Trilogy is the true sequel trilogy we deserve.
Hello yeah these should have been episodes 7,8 And 9 so much going on and a lot to cover
Steiner Arts That’s what I’ve said from the beginning!
Sadly it took too long for the sequel trilogy to get worked on. If George had started in the mid 2000s, and not worked on his idea of bringing the Whills or however it's spelled in (as micro sized aliens or something like that), then maybe we would have had a chance. By the time we got Force awakens the general public had lost its intereet and SW was just a geek thing again which I think explains the ease that Disney and everyone involved cast off what existed already. Had they bought the IP during the height of star Wars frenzy when books and games were still being churned out monthly or weekly and there is no way Disney would have junked it, it would have been making money from day 1. And they would have picked something to make fast and I am sure it would have been this trilogy, rogue squadron as a tv series, and so on. Bit of a rant but yeah, we needed the train to keep rolling after the prequels but likely due to bitchy little incels hating on it George lost interest again after revenge
I agree
Darth bane trilogy was also fabulous. I've read both
Note to self never clone Jedi, they always turn out batshit crazy.
So true I was just thinking of Force Unleashed and how many times Vader went through that until he finally had one that didn’t go nutty on him
X2 turned out okay...
@@tacticaldroidtx22 X1 didn't though. Hell, it might be a 50/50 chance of insanity for any clone of a Jedi.

Wow, I remember that character. Loved Marc Thompson's narration for the Thrawn Trilogy, and others. Shamed that other Legends books weren't unabridged.
Yes he does a phenomenal job
@@EckhartsLadder One of my favorite audio book narrators, especially when it comes to Star Wars.
My only issue with Thrawn books is that they sometimes wouldn’t make sense even in old canon. Some clone wars references and other things had to be retconned to fit the prequels and it’s just iffy.
I would enjoy a retelling of the story in the years between return of the Jedi and the force awakens. Could happen since thrawn is currently MIA.
Brian Runyon All Legends books after 2008 were unabridged except Legacy of the Force, I think.
@@matthewmalbrough2632
The only thing that does not make sense is Leia remembering her mother hiding her in a chest.
Clone Wars references are completlyy valid, there have been at least 3 instances of the Jedi fighting against clones
Thrawn is indeed one of the most skilled military leaders in history but people ignore the fact that the high points of Thrawn's campaign against the new republic were the result of the actions of Joruus C'baoth. Without his Battle Meditation many of Thrawn victories might not happen, furthermore the clone army used by Thrawn were guarded by C'baoth who after Palpatine's first death had took over the installation in Wayland.
Audible?! I have the paperback books of the Thrawn Trilogy. The trilogy which I like to call the real sequel trilogy.
Hell yeah
Facts
Everyone knows the Disney Trilogy is just a shitty and backwards bastard child of Dark Empire.
Yeah but it doesn’t even fit in with canon. It needs retcons to make sense with the prequels. It’s a good story, but it’s not the best sequel trilogy.
Just the fact that it fleshes out the New Republic struggling to snuff out the remains of the Empire both there military and political influence for me is what's make it feel like a real sequel.
Currently reading the last book from the Thrawn trilogy, I've very much enjoyed them so far.
Joruus was basically the Saruman of the Star Wars Universe.
actually dooku is the Saruman of the Star Wars universe both were respected members of their order but turned to the dark side and were played by Christopher Lee
C'baoth had no real long term plans. His insanity made him incapable of that. The victim of his that died when their connection was blocked died not because of a sudden shock but simply because he was unable to live without the Dark Jedi controlling him. The book describes him as sitting down and then simply lying down on some bed as if he didn't see reason to do anything once the voice of C'baoth stopped guiding him. His mind had been molded and reduced to so little that without constant guidance and control even his body shut down as if even basic functions like breathing and hearbeat would have been something that he needed to be told to do. This leads me to thinking that if C'baoth had succeeded in spreading his control, his other victims would have also died moments after C'baoth dying. And at some points in the book it seemed like he was only interested in controlling one or few people and making them dependent on him but as he was utterly insane it is possible that he would have tried to control entire worlds. It is just that at some points he seemed to consider his control over people as a work of art and therefore "perfecting" it by controlling another Jedi would have been all that he wanted, but he was hardly consistent (which was the point, he was insane.)
Brought to mind this quote by Palpatine: "No, Lord Vader. I do not wish to rule over a galaxy of the dead. Only living, breathing subjects are worthy of control."
Palpatine had standards; C'baaoth had none.
I remember that quote, but I doubt that would stop him from just blowing up ever planet that gave him a dirty eye. Just remember, Palpatine was always on edge of sanity or already insane, just see what his ultimate plan for the galaxy was in the Sequels, rule through complete and utter fear where hope and Rebellion ever rise against him.
@@jacobberg373 We don't discuss the Sequels around these parts. Far as we're concerned, there are only 6 major SW movies.
pls never change your outro, still loving it
I feel Taron Malicos is inspired by Jorus C’baoth
I had that same thought when I fought him.
That is definitely what I thought, even his look is kinda similar along with his personality.
A mix between Joruus and Patches.
I feel Taron was more insane honestly
i thought the same thing
Last time I was this early, the empire still existed
Imagine Palpatine's evil mixed with complete insanity.
I know you're trying to make the point of 1 + 1 = 2 here with compounding evil and insanity, but as Eckhart's ladder explained, there was a method to Sidious' madness where with C'baoth there was not.
In this case, it's more like 1 + -1 or 1 + 0.50 because the actual efficacy of asserting ones will is impeded by their own fog and so they tend to undo themselves with no backup plan unlike Sidious had.
A logical evil pervades further, leaving deeper impact where as the complete insanity will make the individual more resolute yet their conduct in handling the bigger picture will falter.
So if Sidious was more insane, he'd probably just torment people more than he actually made plans and end up just the same as C'baoth i.e. not the greatest threat despite his inane cruelty.
The worst dark Jedi uses TikTok, therefore the site must be destroyed.

Echartsoadder: shows video.

That guy isn't worse
He's less effective and was stopped sooner. If this guy became Emperor instead of Palpatine (or however he would've ascended to that level of power) things would be significantly worse. Then again, he didn't build the Dark Empire
@@nickmalachai2227 Yes but he can be stopped far better and far faster
@@Redoren966 due to the circumstances of his discovery. If he hadn't drawn the focus of literally the most powerful forcewielder ever (Luke), he would've had a clone army under him and perpetuated his will from planet to planet
@@nickmalachai2227 Luke was not even stronger than Vader at the time
Jaruus C'baoth also give me vibes to Sindel from Mortal Kombat 11, where he believes everything most bow and serve him, in simple words a TRUE Dictator.
I wonder sometimes if the "Final Order" was a subtle nod to the third book of the Thrawn trilogy.
What makes C'Boath worse than Palpatine, not in terms of power but as a villain, is that C'Boath thinks he's right. Palpatine was evil, and he reveled in this. He had no illusions about anything he did being 'good.' But C'Boath on the other hand legitimately feels that his way is the only way the Jedi can rebuild and survive: by seizing power from those who betrayed them to begin with, and taking it for themselves.
In a way, he isn't entirely wrong in his perspective when we account for the Prequels. The people of the galaxy did nothing when the Jedi were betrayed and murdered. The galaxy's greatest protectors, who were flawed but at least tried, died amidst cheers and applause. So why should they keep their power considering what they did?
What Luke represents however is not only change for the Jedi, but for the people of the galaxy. Times change, and so must people in the end.
This is what makes their conflict so interesting. They are effectively two different approaches to rebuilding the Order coming into conflict with the other.
Palpatine thought he was good
Why is the books in legend version of Lucas star wars is more interesting than Disney disenfranchised books version !......
I’m going with that everyone involved loved what they did and it showed where as Disney just wants money from Star Wars
Also, Lucas had an overall vision of how the old EU was to develop and he got well-established science fiction/fantasy authors to pen it. Disney has shown no such design other than "tie to a movie or game" and the authors aren't nearly as good as a Salvatore, Brooks or Cunningham to name a few.
@@danielhaire6677 lucas had little to no involvement in the EU, he has said as much many times over the years. He passed all that work of choosing the right authors to other people who Did choose the right people.
For the most part.
Connor notyerbidness Even Lucas’ acknowledgements of Legends are weird, he’s been cited to say that he enjoyed sequel stuff like the Dark Empire Trilogy, but later on, he’s said that in his mind, nothing from Legends happened after RotJ (or really nothing at all...though he’s had multiple plans for Sequel movies before)
@@smoldream2908 it was a case of saying " i like it, but its its own thing."
He delegated a level of continuity system even for it all. Hard canon was the films and tv shows (only tv shows He worked on ie clone wars), EU canon (not canon in his mind), and then several lesser canons and non canons (extreme retconned stuff and more elseworlds stuff, like Old wounds where maul survived and tracked obi wan for 10 years but vader died on mustafar)
I wish they would’ve used more Dark Jedi in movies, they seem interesting.
Kylo Ren and Snoke can called be called Dark Jedi for their use of the Dark Side without being Sith. Though as we all know, this was a ruse created by Palpatine in an effort to prevent Luke getting into his plans
When some one asks me for a a very brief sum up for Star Wars I say Space Wizards, that beard more or less proved my point.

Random question: Did the Imperial Navy have hull numbers for its various ships? The US Navy has been numbering its hulls by type and sequence since before the 1900's (for example SSN-571 the Nautilus which is SS for submarine and N for nuclear power being the 571st submarine in the sequence of construction). Is there a system for this? Further more sailors have a great deal of pride in what ship they serve on often using their hull numbers for tattoos, combos on lockers, etc. Did the Imperial Navy see this level of pride in their ships?
I just finished the Thrawn trilogy audiobooks. F*ckin' amazeballs.
The term master can be vague. If you reach the highest skill level possible in any particular practice, That technically makes you a master of that art or practice rather you are recognized for it or not.
Manipulation to that extent, the writer took many cues from narcissistic personality disorder, psychopathy, along with taking cues from cult leaders, its terrifying indeed, good video
This valiantly shows the possiblity that a jedi that honed *both* light & dark - 'sides'(!) has way much more *potential* compared to a normal sith
My theory is that his mind control is a limited sorcery of the same variant of escence transfer. Since he doesn't transfer his whole self he fragments his spirit instead, which progressivly drive him more insane from the time he started using the power on wayland until his death.

How exactly does Star Wars legends work, and why does it matter that Disney is making a "spin off" version? Can't authors just continue writing? Also, is there a group of people that decide what books get into the legends? Or is it a free for all?
Super Cam Productions legends used to be canon and is most of the EU stuff that existed before Disney owned Star Wars. Lucasfilm decided what got in and what didn’t. Authors can keep writing, but what they write can’t get published because Disney only really wants canon stuff.
There is no spinoff version of legends.
Star Wars Legends was formerly known as the Star Wars Expanded Universe and contained basically everything Star Wars outside of the movies (books, comics, videogames and so on). It existed from 1976 on and was killed by Disney in 2014, two years after they bought the franchise. Everything after 2014 is Disney Canon and is it's own thing and the Expanded Universe got labeled" Legends". Think of it as two universes: Legends (1976 - 2014, tells a different and completley original story of what happens to the movie characters, has different concepts, events and characters than the current Disney movies) and Disney Canon (all the new movies, books and Comics play in that universe)
They also didn't allow writers to continue the EU storyline, example: The Novels set after Return of the Jedi end with the book "Crucible", in which Luke, Han and Leia are about the same age the actors were at that point, mid 60s to 70s. That book (and it's predecessor, the 9 book Fate of the Jedi series) has set up some things that were supposed to pay of in the next books (The "Sword of the Jedi" trilogy, which Disney cancelled)
There are stil Fans like me out there, who want Legends to be continued as a seperate Universe, since we have no interest in the new movies or anything from the Disney timeline. All we want is just more books, but for some reason Disney-Lucasfilm doesn't want to give us that, despite the fact it would give them more money and probably good publicity.
Technically, Legends is still ongoing, in the form of SWTOR
Quality Autism I'm still stumped about why they'd prevent themselves from making good money and satisfying the pissed off fandom by establishing Legends as an ongoing parallel universe that also gets continued media support !? I have a low key theory (might be because I'm butthurt) that reasons that their ego is too big to allow them to go back on their word of making a better Expanded Universe and willingly showing their content over the last decade has been pitiful and bland at best...
@@blackshogun272 Possible. The sad thing is, the publisher Del Rey books and many of the old authors said they would like to continue it, they just can't until Lucasfilm gives them the OK. Next year two billboards are gonna be set up near Lucasfilm, asking for a continuation of Legends alongside their own canon, we will see what happens.
Halo theory idea What if the UNSC had never researched the spartan 2 or mjolnir programs.
