i only just realised that i have been watching this channel non stop since its creation, i remember as a young boy watching that winter disneyland vlog and being inspired into becoming an enthusiast myself and that has only become stronger. so i wanna say thank you so much shaun and charlotte you guys mean the world to me, you built my childhood and for that you will always hold a sepcial spot in my heart. love you guys

Wow that first loop of Dragon Khan even looked intense on screen! Love that roar of the track too, reminds me of my all time favourite Universal Hulk and Old Nemesis. Shambhala has one of the best hand/ head choppers after the first drop. I still duck every time & made me laugh to see people ducking in your pov.

That uncharted situation was unacceptable. But I am glad to hear operations have improved. Maybe late in the year I will have a chance to make it there.

Looks like operations have greatly improved; it really let such a lovely park down over the last few years. That Uncharted malarkey was a bit OTT -looking forward to seeing that too it was under construction the last time we went. Making me pine for Salou now!
It seems they are heading in the right direction!
So happy to see they're doing something to stop queue jumping. I hope they keep it up.

That was shocking with uncharted at the end, did you manage to speak to any park management about it?
It was very disappointing. We couldn’t see any management around however will send off an email informing them!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide would be very interested to hear their reply, its not good enough for a park as big as PA is!
I also had the door slammed in my face at uncharted! I was livid 😅 a park guest even shouted at me too, the staff were pretty rude about it. Hope they change that 😂

Brilliant video as always. Your reaction to Furious Paco was awesome, the comments 'I need a new spine' and ' it rides like a supermarket trolley' were absolutely brilliant and so funny 😂. If Shawn thinks it's rough it must be brutal😂.

It's not ruff Ive been riding it for 4 days with my back broken in two different places from Hyperion in energylandia outside seat and not a single rider here hurt me other than the mine train

Your ride on Stampida was hilarious 😅 we rode it one day doing 8 rides back to back, we had bruises all over our legs, but it was worth it! Great fun!
It’s such a wonderful park-my favourite. It really is a shame about the operations. We had something similar, got in the queue for templo del fuego ten minutes before it closed, and we all of a sudden we were told it had shut. Went to leave the queue, and they had all ready shut the queue with us in it! Were there for a bit before we ended up having to climb the gate.

A new Operations Manager ? Wow. Was awful before - especially having the priority queue. Still loving the Khan ! That roar ! We need a Khan here in the UK !

Great vid! I visited the park in 2007 when it was owned by Universal. The only supermarket trolly ride experience ive had to this day has to be the old "Wild mouse" at Blackpool 😂
Tip: Furious baco is way less rough in the front row. Its not any more scarier then the back rows so don’t be afraid to try the front!

I enjoyed uncharted. Yes the theming could use some work. But as a dark coaster I think it’s great. The ride system is strong, the layout is good, some decent surprises. I think it really fills a gap in the lineup.
This park could easily be the best in Europe. All it is missing is an RMC and an intamin multi launch like pantheon or tutatis and it would easily be the best on the continent!
It’s a great park with some fantastic rides. I just wish Uncharted had more theming and better audio to make it more immersive!
I will be there again in about 4 weeks. But before that some days in Madrid with Parque d'attractiones de Madrid and some days i Bafcelona before reaching Salou again. But unfortunately Hotel Golden Port Salou was fullbooked early, Hotel Eurosalou instead. Madrid flrst time but Barcelona and Salou will be nostalgic.
The Chinese noodles are about to be tested. The Western Steak House maybe also unless the queues are too long.
Goodness, I'm so happy you guys had a better time. The heat was just next level last time. This visit you could actually just enjoy and chill through the experience. Also I'll have to add on... Charlotte is just on point with the experience and confidence to really bring that extra something to the vids. Perhaps with the eclipse next year, I'll give it a try

I had such a big smile watching your POV of shambhala going up the lift, remembering my own experience of riding it 4 times in a day when I went at the start of April and s***ting myself everytime as we got to that drop 😆

Can anybody who has been here remember a ride i think in the far west section, that was a single file rollercoaster? Not a big one, think it was a wooden one. Been giing mad as i cant find anything about it but it was definitely here!!
My Dad was knocked out by that Woody Woodpecker by the entrance. He'd gone back to get something and whilst looking down at his phone to contact us he walked straight into Woody's hand and was knocked out cold 😂

Haven’t been to Port Aventura in years. Certainly plan to return sometime, but the queues and operations definitely put me off.
It seems that the Furious Baco ride may benefit from some maintenance. I've noticed that sitting in the outer seat can result in a considerable amount of juddering throughout the ride, which might lead to discomfort for some riders. I believe this juddering effect was not an intended feature of the ride's design. This could potentially explain why this particular ride design isn't as widely replicated as others.
It's never been replicated by the way it's the only launch wing coaster in the world and the only intermin wing coaster

Awesome to bump into you guys at EMA and then at Stampeda! We waited 45 mins in the single rider queue for Uncharted, very lack luster internals still...just screens and pitch darkness. Even during a quiet day we needed to get the express pass to make sure we could fit everything in before our flight home.

Mrs is Spanish and that really helps getting around the local attitude to queuing we've found, they don't jump the line quite so much if it is a vociferous native speaker that they're trying to get round
I remember riding dragon Khan back in 1997. When we first went to salou in 1994 it was being built
On Stampida.... "we are winning". Shawn, there are no winners when it comes to that ride.
I'm actually quite sensitive when it comes to rough rides but I don't mind stampida! I actually quite enjoy it

Hey I’m pretty sure this was an incredible vlog jam packed of amazing footage experiences, Shawn I’m not going to be watching your Port Advetura vlogs right now as I don’t want to jinx any of my family’s wishes as we’re thinking about planning our family vacation going to Mainland Spain to here Port Adventura Salou or the animal holiday park down the road in Benidorm for maybe later this year as we totally have our hearts set to go to these amazing 🤩 incredible holiday destinations we’re really hoping we can go to either one of these as they match our criteria, Shawn and Charlotte Thank you ever so much for sharing, once we know what’s happening then I’ll definately be watching these one way or another after our decision please have your fingers crossed for us we’ve literally saved up loads in order to go here thank you 🙏

Portaventura was the first park I ever went to on holiday and it just such a good park aswell Shambala is such a good ride and

Staying at hotel el paso in a few weeks times, the only thing I would say that their queues are long and they are slow getting you on the rides

Last time I went to the shambala festive in the uk was 2012. Spooky lol. Good music festival on a August bank holiday.

The light up balls in the show are on wires!! Think it’s more visible on video than in real life but I could definitely see them! 😂
P.s. shambala etc are open from half 9 for hotel guests for this early part of the season. That's why it's all open at 10 for the GP. Some rides did seem to "have technical issues" a lot at 10 though after working fine for that first half hour!!!
Fun fact: infusion at Blackpool pleasure Beach is 109 ft and colossus at Thorpe Park is 105 ft so infusion is actually taller even though it feels smaller
Shambhala stands out as the highlight of the park for me. However, I find that the comfort level on rides such as Stampeda, Dragon Khan, and Furious Baco could be improved. Additionally, it seems that the Hurrican Condor is often not operational, which can be a bit disappointing for visitors looking forward to that experience

I was going to go here last year but we changed holiday because ouf hotel was next to a construction site. The park looks incredible.
Does seem like a long way to go for one standout rollercoaster - I think Port Aventura enjoy a captive market from its location and doesn’t seem to try very hard; there’s plenty of parks in Europe that seem to offer a better ride selection and customer service. Great vlog as always about a park that doesn’t seem to live up to its potential 😕

Just missed you we flew back on the Saturday. 4 days on park. Ops were up and down. It really felt likely they were purposely being fast or slow depending on what their objective was. They can clear the whole queue building on shammy in 30 minutes at the end of the day but in the middle it is an hour to an hour and a half! On the same number of trains!

I think the reason there’s no staggered openings now is that Hotels get early access to all the main rides

Those balls are a simple magician’s trick. Electromagnets are placed in the stage and different amounts of current are run through them. It creates the classic push and pull you see.

I genuinely came off Dragon Khan feeling like I needed an ambulance I got bashed in the head so much, and that was years ago! One to avoid.

There is no need for that for anyone. Why can't they be polite and follow what they advertise. If it has to close early how difficult can it be to change the close time😢

Do you when the train was changed in 2007 on Stampeda? I first rode it in June 2007 so I don’t know if I have ever been on the original trains 🤔. Love the facts you tell us about the rides though. I’ve learned so much about rides from your vlogs.

Yea just the ride staff wanting to have a cheeky early finish there with uncharted which is unfortunate, people travel a long way to come to these theme parks and that could have been their only chance to ride it, I'm glad the operations are much more bearable at the moment, I had an amazing visit last week.

I`d stick to Europa Park to be honest. It makes PA look second rate.
I was absolutely gutted last year when I went to portaventura that I didn't get on shambala. Unfortunately I've put quite a bit of weight on due to health issues over the past couple of years, even though the test seat was green I was still told I was too big for the restraints. The gap couldn't have been more than a centimeter but I was still told no. This is why I prefer the intamin hyper style restraints they're much better for us bigger guys an much comfier than the b&m clam shells.
