Woodya,
Thanks again for this moving and ultimately sad documentary-RIP the Busby Babes.
6TH FEB 1958 TEARS OF SADNESS. 29TH 1968 TEARS OF JOY.DATES THAT I WONT FORGET. LUCKY TO SEE THE BABES AS A YOUNG BOY .STRETFORD ENDER IN 68 BEING AT WEMBLEY THE BEST NIGHT EVER.
My grandfather served in the British Navy during the WW2 and was sunk twice, spent hrs in the ocean. He always said watching those coffins pass him was the worse day of his life.
It's so fucking sad. ;(
R.I.P Busby Babes!!
6:45 approx eddie's friend speaking of his mother wishing she would of gotten him a bike broke my heart. so sad him telling that
Everyone out there DONT TAKE ANYONE FOR GRANTED! Because you never know when you might loose them....
And you may never get a chance to say how you really feel :-(
God bless you lads - we miss you
I've been very keen to see this documentary again, having watched it without remembering to tape it in 1998. Presumably it's because of Savile's appearance that it has never been repeated, couldn't he just be cut so this wonderful programme can be appreciated on TV again ? Thanks so much for uploading, when I saw it in 1998 I thought that Duncan's poor mother saying she never told him she loved him was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen, I wept again when I watched it tonight.
Res in PAC Herrye Greg!
@STOPTHEEU "And at the Nou Camp in 1999, on matt busby's birthday, oh it was party time. Take me home, United Road.."
@Taczka777 I'm glad Busby and Charlton live on. I'm proud of the bravery of our goal keeper, I am sorry so many died and I am thankful for the German medics who did everything they could.
R.I.P Busby babe,. 99 and 08 were for you.
This disaster only happened because the runway was covered in snow and ice, and the aircraft was unable to reach take off speed
How come Matt Busby or the owners of Manchester United or whoever made them take the flight faced any charges? It's incredible that no one went prison for this? How Matt Busby lived with himself is beyond me! He was there manager there boss the person who told them what to do and he was more worried about a FA fine then the lifes of the players coz anyone with any sense would not of got on the plane!!
@TheBlueDevilz I never understood why its United road. Apart from the fact it rhymes its actually Sir Matt Busby Way! MUFC for ever, even if Fergy is a Labourite!
@Taczka777 True! But I wasn't alive then..
what a team and what a sad loss to us all keep the red flag high
@STOPTHEEU and '68
I have heard that there was no room for Duncan Edwards the burial place were so crowded by his teammates that he had to be buried in a potters field
He's buried in his hometown of Dudley
