There was only 1 match vs Huddersfield in 1953, and it came on 31st October, and there were 2 teenagers, Duncan Edwards and Jackie Blanchflower. Really it was serfdom, you choose your master and they restrict your trade and dispose of you as they see fit. Mitten should have stayed abroad until the end of his career, he might have got something more from it.

The post war team didn't exactly have great things to say about Busby, and it was down to money. Charlie Mitten was treated disgracefully.
