Fascinating. I've travelled on the Thameslink line for many years and I keep figuring out new aspects of this freight line. I'm going to have to pay close attention to where the crossover is. I hadn't noticed that before! Interesting that the freight went on the slow line. I wonder if and when it crossed to the fast line further on...
Given TfL want to turn this into a passenger line, there will be plenty of work to do to get the speeds up to even say 60 mph. The other interesting issue is how they will then fit in a platform at Hendon for the trains to turn around. I don't know how busy the frieght lines are so will it simply be a 5th platform next to the down fast or will there need to be a turnback siding or platform off the frieght lines?

Splendid
Isn't there talk of reopening to passengers ?
Apparently yes.
It's much better with a correct sound track.

Class 20? Balfour Beatty?
This train is what I would call "pootling"
I've always liked that , just out for a pootle 👍🏴
10mph is just painfully slow. Do you know the reason for such a restriction?
At Silkstream 😊
