      That's fair. Ive always liked W. I would just say that when it comes to actually policy decisions of US presidents, it generally takes decades for history to award the merit. That goes for Trump all the way back to Washington. It's easy to get emotional about politics but it's really just WWF. Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant are only pretending to fight each other. How great is it to hear 2 former Presidents calmly talk about each other in a polite and respectful way,no name calling or blaming the other god how times have changed,and the sad thing is that in 5 or however many years nobody will want to be in the same room as Trump.

    • @jasonkoch3182
      @jasonkoch3182 5 месяцев назад

      There's always been a code among former presidents that you never attack your successor publicly. That's largely because anyone who has served in the office knows how difficult it is and understands that the president has information they don't when it comes to making decisions. Sure, presidents have campaigned for members of their party. That's politics. But until Trump came in and desecrated the office, there was as sincere a relationship between ex-presidents as you can get. Nixon-Ford-Carter became good friends. Clinton leaned on Nixon early in his presidency. The Bushes and the Clintons became great friends. The Bushes and Obamas are reportedly good friends. It's Trump who is the outlier because he threw all the cordiality and respect out the window and attacked everyone he could. It's a big reason why the only office he needs to be in is the warden's office when he's scrubbing the floor with a toothbrush.

      I wish Americans would stop buying into the "leftists like big government" meme that conservatives have been spreading for decades. When conservatives talk about "big government", they mean environmental regulations, taxing the upper class, and welfare for the poor. They have no problem with big government when it comes to having the world's highest incarceration rate, police being free to murder anyone who looks at them the wrong way, subsidies to oil companies, and women's uteruses. Conservatives arguably want a bigger government than leftists do--they just want it serving the people they like, and oppressing the people they don't like.

      English for others to understand.
      Bush and Clinton represent the old school presidency.
      Clinton and the Republican Congress bombed Milosevich to submission in 1999. And president GW Bush supported Kosovo Albanians to independency. Bush family comes from a long line of early Americans, and public servants in high office starting with Prescott Bush, GH Bush and GW Bush. GH was UN Embassador, CIA director and a Navy veteran. He knew the international politics very well, and back channels; also he served as VP to President Reagan for eight years.
      Trump is someone from outside the political class, and that explains his attitude, but at the same time his fan base.
      Trump is good for the USA with his policies and putting America first.

As in: they, in fornt of our very eyes, are describing the development and evolution of their relationship, with their own words. Pretty incredible to see them do this, live (as opposed through a curated video or book, where they would have much more time to think, edit, clean up, and "make presentable" their definition of their relationship and how it evolved).

    This is what decent Presidents, and Former Presidents should speak of each other, with decency and respect. No like today, where former presidents, are batching the seating President. That is a disrespect to the highest office this Country can offer, as well as the seating President of The United States of America. You can say, whatever you want to say during the elections, but after elections are over, we should unite and support the elected President. One NATION under GOD, INDIVISIBLE with JUSTICE, and LIBERTY for ALL!

      We should support the current president and give all presidents a chance until they prove themselves unfit. Trump has proved himself VERY unfit for office.

      One nation? Well, apparently the Russians are trying to run the US. Indivisible? Ask Donald what that means. Justice? There's Mueller... he's working on that. Liberty? The most basic freedom: the right to live a DECENT life is something Donald isn't interested in. He thinks a wall represents liberty. Sorry, but you need to go see the doctor, or shrink... oh wait, you might not have healthcare... nvm.

      They worked together, right. It was a different approach back then "old ways". With Trump things changed. Trump came in as an outsider, he does not have the wit of a refined politician like GH Bush, or the courtesy of GW and Clinton, but Trump brings the voice of the "unheard" people to the frontline. Courtesy and politically correct does not fix daily troubles that Americans face. I do not like Trump personality, but I vote for him because he is on the Republican ticket, and because he showed he is a better president than Obama and Biden combined.

      Yup. Also, Trump helped and would help Kosovo again. First he made Israel recognize Kosovo which is second most important recognition after the USA recognition (barring EU). Trump made Vucic and the Albanian counterpart from Kosovo to sit at the same table and made some agreements. Just having Vucic sit at the same table as a Kosovo Albanian leader is an almost recognition by Serbia. With Trump a second time as president, Kosovo might achieve recognition from Serbia. Trump has the power to do that. Peace between Serbia and Kosovo will totally change the geopolitical landscape of the Balkans. A reconciled Serbia will become once more the powerhoise of the Balkans as it was under Tito, and Albanians with two states in the Balkans will be a force to recon with. Greece will be jealous.
