    •Barbatos’ Bard friend and Barbaros
    •Guizhong and Zhongli
    •Makoto and Ei
    It could be argued that even Paimon and the Traveler are another iteration of this Sun and Moon concept where the Traveler’s hair is golden like the sun and Paimon’s hair is a white like the moon, she’s even smaller and can physically orbit the Traveler.

    Revisiting the video. Aged like fine wine, I must say. Well done. I love how at the end of the quest it literally straight up just kills the “Rukkha = Kusa” theory by labeling it as a false tale. It’s so funny.

    • @rushalias8511
      @rushalias8511 Год назад +17

      Really I thought it qas the opposite.
      It's stated that nahida is technically another form of Rukka but will grow and become a different being due to different experience.
      Essentially saying they are the same but just different due to different fates.

    • @toufusoup
      @toufusoup Год назад +49

      @@rushalias8511 when I mean the “end” of the quest I mean the END END. Like, feasting with everyone end.
      Spoilers:
      Kusanali is more like the "child" or, with more straightforward terms, the "product" of Rukkhadevata. Rukkhadevata literally stated that she died and created Nahida from the purest branch of Irminsul, which maybe one could take as, at most, Kusanali is "part" of Rukkhadevata that lives on. Saying Kusa is still Rukkha is like cutting off your finger and a person spawns from it, and you're saying "it's me!"
      Also, to those that have completed the quest through and through, you know that Traveler is the only person that remembers Rukkhadevata, because they're not from Teyvat, and their memories did not get altered. The new "retelling" is that Kusanali used up her powers 500 years ago, making her lose her wisdom and memories, so the Sages abandoned her. This is literally the story that people who believe Rukkha=Kusa perpetuate, and it's said now, in the game, that this is a false tale, and you, as the Traveler, know the truth.
      In other words, history was basically rewritten where people think Kusanali was Rukkhadevata who lost her memories and powers 500 years ago, and you’re the only person that knows this is not true.

    To me… I think that Rukkhadevata used up a portion of her original power which caused her to become more childlike but over time she grew a bit and basically when the Cataclysm rolled around, she didn’t have her full power to be able to partially part with it so therefore she used ALL of it to became our little cinnamon roll known as Nahida which the stupid sages completely disregards her 😅😅😅

      Ashikai also believes/proposed this idea. She basically said the same thing. Something like Rukkadevata used a large portion of her power for the Scarlet King, but still retained most of her memories and was able to tell the sages what happened. Then, in the Cataclysm she used another large sum of power and regressed to the point where her body was essentially restarted. Which would make sense as for why they have the same gnosis and hair and many other things.

    • @Internextion
      @Internextion Год назад +8

      that theory is nice but the one he said in the video makes a lot more sense imo. why would she suddenly lose all her memories the second time when she didnt do that at all the first time? it doesnt add up

    • @Michylawhty
      @Michylawhty Год назад +28

      @@Internextion Simply put, it could be that King Deshret's issue was not as disastrous as the Cataclysm, so Rukka didn't need to use as much energy. She only used enough to regress her form, but not lose her memories. When the Cataclysm came, a much more serious event, she used much more of her power, which made her lose her memories in addition to regressing her form. I've seen this done before in other media, where the amount of memory a character loses depends on how much power they use up.

    I just did the archon quest, turns out you are right! In this video you explained that Nahidas birth was like snapping off a tree branch and turning it into a brand new tree. The archon quest explains that perfectly!

  • @mariapazgonzalezlesme
    @mariapazgonzalezlesme Год назад +547

    I have to admit. This theory slapped me on the face, specially about the memories part. Like everyone else, after seeing the Hermanubis's projection message, assumed that Kusanali and Rhukkadevata were the same people. But after seeing the timeline you showed between the Archon War and Catlacysm, it made me realize that Rhukadevatta used Aranara magic, and thus Kusanali was born; similar design yet zero memory. Mostly, because I like to think that Rhukadevata used to be en Aranara, just like Barbatos used to be an mere Wind spirit.
    And if you think about it, that's why Dendro's symbol is a Heart - the opposite of widsom and knowledge. Why not a brain? It's strange. The Geo symbol is a diamond, and is easily associated as mineral, thus connected with rocks. And the answer is simple. Because Dendro represents the leafs and vines that are found connected to the earth, the vines are a parallel of the Ley Lines, the heart that beats within Teyvat, and within the Ley Lines and Irminsul Trees, memories are their main element.
    Meaning that's why Rhukadevatta's last message said: *The world (will) forget me.*
    And the Aranara Quest's final message is a parallel to Rhukka is: *In the end, the forest will remember.*
    Thank you for listening for my brainstorm talk.

However, Kusanali isn’t truly Rukkhadevata anymore; she doesn’t have her memories, experiences or knowledge. Rukkhadevata most likely shrunk once when helping the scarlet king sacrifice himself, and then again during the cataclysm (probably her sacrificing herself). After that she esentially became a blank slate; in all respects, a completely different person. This would explain why their designs are so similar, the statues being the second Rukkhadevata form, and Kusanali seemingly having no knowledge/little power despite being the Dendro Archon.
    I also don’t think the sages have any idea that Kusanali was originally Rukkhadevata. They respected the original archon to such a degree that I don’t think they would immediately shun her just because she lost her memories and knowledge through a sacrifice. If they did, then I will punt them across a field.
    ALSO ALSO the words we hear from Irminsul: “World forget me…” I think there are a few different ways the blank words can be filled out, with each having some interesting implications:
    [The] world [will] forget me…
    [I want the] world [to] forget me…
    [Will the] world forget me…
    [I wnat the] world [to] forget me…
    Just some food for thought ;)
    anyways great video :D

      and most likely it was Rukkhadevata saying "World... Forget me..." before she "died" and became Irminsul, while it was the birth of Kusanali, mostly likely so for those Akademia people who were trying to connect to Irminsul will get the message and finally acknowledge Kusanali, but was Interrupted by Scamamouche's Birth as a god
      or Akademia people knew this was Rukkhadevata and as what Kitsune Saigu said "Losing one's Memories is Equivalent to losing one's life", thus Giving her the name Kusanali but them finding out her lacking the power of wisdom worsened the relationship between Kusanali and the Akademia People, leaving her locked up

In 3.2 we will get dendro cube which also seems to be damaged so it also shows the erosion therefore rukkhadevata being till date which proves kusanali is rukkhadevata. I do see the pimon being the god that attacked us theory but if you put it like Nahida it adds a whole other twist. Helping you having forgotten who she was and what she did to the point she isn't even the same person anymore. What what you do. You get your twin torn from you. You get sealed away go through a journey with a new friend who while maybe annoying is someone you go increasingly close to just to find out they're the one that did it to you but even THEY don't remember anymore the mix of feelings you would have. The feelings she would have. It would be like having amnesia then finding out you were this absolutely horrible person.

That is how we know she is the true dendro archon. She is going to pull the greens out of my wallet day 1. That is the real facts of her story right there. In fact, she already did. Also, on that note Cyno and the people of the desert including all the vision holders now believe in her.

    Here are 3 things that are concerning me:
    - Gods expend a massive amount of power and become smaller (eg: Gouba), so for what reason did Rukkhadevata use up her power for during the Cataclysm?
    - I believe Istaroth to also have used up her power for some reason and then disappeared (no one questioned it, not even Venti whom she was closely associated with) and the same question. For what reason?
    - We know that Rukkhadevata is said to have been born from the Irminsul Tree itself. The Irminsul Tree contains the entire history of teyvat but we don't know the start of it. We don't know if the Primordial One had anything to do with Irminsul Tree since I don't think the book Sun and Moon mentioned about it. Celestia seemed heavily against anyone learning about things from the Sun and Moon which contains the world's history, the reason why Orobashi was killed after he read the book. So if the Irminsul Tree recorded what happened including what happened with the Primordial One and if Rukkhadevata did have access to those memories, why did Celestia let her off with it?
    Also, thank you so much for touching about Istaroth, Paimon and the 3 figures in the Genshin Manga. Those are the exact reasons about my theory that I'll mention.
    I find it hard to believe that the Primordial One and his 4 shades could lose to the 2nd Who Came, especially since they even defeated the 7 sovereigns and are capable of creating life itself.
    The only possible way that I think Phanes (The Primordial One) could lose is that his shades betrayed and went against him.
    The people of Enkanomiya prayed for the Gods to help them to fight off the Vishaps. But only Istaroth arrived to help them.
    Leaving "3" shades on the surface with Phanes.
    The battle pass cutscene mentioned that the 1st heir was tricked and became the queen of the kingdom of darkness.
    I believe the 1st heir is the 2nd Who Came and is now the sustainer of heavenly principles.
    She might've been an innocent person (for all we know) and tried to take the Genesis Pearl from Teyvat (they never mentioned anything about a Genesis Pearl in the game other than the Genesis Crystal so I wonder if it's a metaphor), but she was tricked by the 3 shades into becoming the ruler of Teyvat with their help.
    If we assume that the 4 shades of Phanes had the same level of power as him or equally divided power (1/4 each) at least, then it's possible for the Primordial One to lose especially since Istaroth was not there.
    After he lost, the 3 shades and the 2nd Who Came became the rulers of Teyvat who are now Celestia.
    The 3 figures which Venti flashbacks to, in the manga, might be the 3 shades.
    As for Istaroth, I'm honestly not sure what happened to her but she might've expended so much of her power for unknown reasons or her power was taken from her. She then shrunk to smaller form, losing her identity and is now our companion Paimon.
    If you look up the first ever cutscene in Genshin, where our sibling face off the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, notice how in one part, we see her reversing an explosion, as if she rewinded time.
    So it's possible that Celestia or the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles took away Istaroth's powers.
    Paimon is also associated with the Moon Sisters and the Seelie race. Seelies are constantly trying to find their home (their statue).
    The patterns on her cloths and even the statue of seven heads on her wrists and ankles. People assume they are from Celestia, but I don't think that's the case. I believe that these patterns and the Crown shaped objects are from the Primordial Ones times. And that Celestia also used the same pattern for the statues of the 7 as well.
    Paimon being Istaroth might also be a great plotline.
    From the Shiki Taisho event, Paimon mentioned that you would be able to regain your true form if you recall your memories little by little or until something triggers it. Shiki Taisho also mentioned about him being afraid if he turns out to be an enemy if he were to regain his memories, some more details were mentioned but I don't remember them quite clearly.
    So if that hints of Paimon eventually returning to her true form, then that would mean after she turns back into Istaroth, she will have to fight Celestia (the other 3 shades of Phanes) as she is a shade of Phanes herself and that it is her duty.
    Paimon betraying us one day might be because of this. Rather than betraying us, Paimon might push us away as she doesn't want to put us in danger especially since we are not from this world and have nothing to do with it. I'm sure Paimon would do such a thing cuz her friendship with us definitely Genuine, she's not putting on a fake act (I keep hearing people say that).
    That's all from my theories.
    One last thing I want to mention. Venti is the only archon so far who doesn't have his 2nd Story Quest.
    Looking at the patterns, it seems the Archon's 2nd Story Quest involves an old companion or old comrade of theirs (Zhongli-Azhdaha, Ei-Makoto).
    If this pattern is right, Venti's 2nd Quest might mention Istaroth as she is the only other connection of Venti aside Dvalin and Boreas (that I can think of).
    This would be a major part of the genshin story if they mention Istaroth so I can understand why they are taking a long time before releasing it.
    Honestly, can't wait to see the Sumeru Final Quest and the Venti 2nd Quest if it were to come out one day.

(It's been speculated that her cult made its way to Greece along with her husband, which went under the name "Adonis.") The kind of god we've speculated the Tsaritsa once was. I've seen Nahida as more of an Athena character personally with her weird birth and her ties to wisdom, but it's interesting to think that, in the end, most of the Genshin archons may have ties to one another in more ways than we think.

  • @kakerumasumoto3275

    There seems to be something off with the timeline because I don't think the Scarlet King died 500 years ago. They always mentioned in the story that he died a thousand years ago, so for the sages not to know that Nahida is Rukha is a bit off or MAYBE this could have been a plot by the sages all along.
    Maybe there's a chance that they actually know they are the same person and when she goes younger she loses part of her power and knowledge. There's a chance the sages were afraid of their future if their God is at the same level as a child in both body and mind. So, this could be the reason why they wanted a new God. More powerful than the one that they have now.

    This theory is really good and the end especially made me think, but I'm not sure that Paimon really HAS lost all her memories. In the Aranara quest (I'm not exactly sure where) when they're talking about life before the traveler, Paimon says that before the traveler fished her out of the pond her life was so-so, she wasn't sad but she wasn't exactly happy. This is like, from what I can remember, the first time Paimon ever really talks about her life before the traveler. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it or maybe Paimon knows (and remembers) a lot more than she lets on. Either way, great video and I'm looking forward to more!

    If we define personhood by the sum total of our experiences (memories), Kusanali and Rukkhadevata are not the same and the Sages are partially correct.
    The Aranara questline told us everything. Arama sacrifices all her memories to cultivate the Ashvattha Tree in Old Vanarana, using Aranara magic expends memories, they were led by Queen Aranyani (Rukkhadevata). So Rukkhadevata is the Irminsul Tree we first meet, at least all her memories were used in its creation. Kusanali is the personality formed in the absence of Rukkhadevata's, hence why even Kusanali knows Rukkhadevata as a separate entity that, to her extremely limited knowledge, created her to be the first Akasha terminal.
    "World forget me." "The forest remembers."
    "*The* world *will* forget me *but* the forest *will* remember." I suspect this was Rukkhadevata's final thought/memory and it would be literal, if her memories were used in the creation of the Irminsul. She became the forest.

    I think there is possibly another piece to your theory, being the character or being that corresponds to the Simurgh, the bird-like chimeric creature that roosted in the Haoma, although at this time I cannot say who that might be.
    Also, I’m sure you’ve seen some people state that they believe Honkai expys in Genshin are based on minimum two characters and not just one, and recently it has come to light that the other character besides Theresa that Nahida may be based on is Ai-chan, who is going to become a playable character. She’s also has plant affiliations(she is a cabbage) and is an A.I.. She also has a similar animation to Nahida’s idle where she sits in a swing, and even has an accessory that looks a lot like the Dendro symbol, but I think what would interest you most is that the name of her battle suit is “Chrono Navi”, which likely means something like “time navigator” or possibly “time ship” in the most literal sense, or “时帆旅人” in Chinese, which means “Time Sail Traveler”. As I do not play in the Chinese Honkai server I have yet to get the context behind this name and I don’t feel like spoiling myself, but perhaps that will be relevant to the decision to partially base Nahida off of her.
    It’s also kinda funny that as of the most recent chapter on the global server, Theresa and Ai-chan were also just together in Lunar orbit.

    With the latest archon quest it is confirmed that Kusenali isn't actually rukedevata. And thus confirming your theory :D
    I believe they're from nature alike, but because they have different fates they're not the same person. Like how far can you say it is the same person when they have a different or no memories at all? I think memory and experiences shape who we are and if i had the memory of napoleon, i be napoleon. Even if they're technically the same person, like rukedevata just loosing her power and becoming Kusenali, i still will believe they're different enough to not say they're the same person.
    Also i like this concept more of "underdog struggles to overcome the greatness of their predecessor, but bc of their determination and friendship they overcome it, learn from it and become even greater" than "underdog struggles to overcome greatness of their predecessor, but realize they're the great predecessor and they're already great all along, they just had to remember"
    Anyways some random thoughts I'd like to share here "the latest archon quest would have been much better if we don't hear abt the sages being punished but see or even contribute, like for all the shit theyve done, they should at least have the honor to be sandbags for me to punch"

    A streamer I watched theorized that Rukedevata used up a significant part of her power and transformed into a early teenage form back during the time of the scarlet king and during the battle at Kanriah she sacrificed more of her power again and her form became even younger and with memory loss. Who says she can't do the same thing twice?

    Your theory is similar to what i had in mind except the istaroth stuff xD. The scarlet king choosing to sacrifice himself is also very similar to what happened to orobaxi after he read the forbidden book where he chose to sacrifice himself and let himself get cut down by ei so celestia would spare his people. I think kusanali is kind of like a "child"/creation of rukkha and not rukkha herself

    I love our best companion, PAIMON but I think she's the one who separates the siblings in the first place when you need to select a character and transform into a little kid like what happened to Rukkhadevata

    Wow, this kinda validated what I felt after watching Rukkhadevata shrunk to a kid! When I finished King Deshret and the Three Magi, it felt really off that Rukkhadevata is Kusanali because of the timeline, as you've pointed out, mentioned by Tighnari and Kusanali. Before, I was thinking that if Rukkhadevata became Kusanali, like a lot of people have said, it would mean that King Deshret would've died 500 years ago and as you've said, sounded off when taking the archon war in mind.
    On the Statue of the 7 though, it's a little hard to assume this is made by the people. But I don't think it's made by Celestia either. This is part of the description of a Portable Waypoint: "A pocket-sized item that creates a temporary Teleport Waypoint. It is capable of connecting with the ley lines, at least to the extent necessary to bring about teleportation." So, there's a possibility that Waypoints are made by humans that connects to the waypoint. I feel that it's not just for teleportation though (as was its purpose in GAA's first event, a beacon). A Statue of the 7 contains an archon's element, since the Traveler can resonate with a statue to gain the same elemental energy. Plus, it can heal xD
    I think, Statues of the 7 are similar to the temples mentioned in 5:48, they're made by the archons. Maybe, aside from other unknown purposes, they're used as outposts to observe their territory? Or something else? As for other things like Rukkhadevata is Ishtar... Well, I haven't done a lot of quests and haven't read books from Sumeru. So, I'm open to possibilities.
    Thanks for sharing your theory!

    Wow nice video, it stucked with me at the end the conection you made between the two scenes of the comic and the birth of kusanali, if its the case that istaroth was trapped by celestia it would explain why venti didnt like celestia at the time, it would also explain why in that part of the comic only appears 3 shades of phanes instead of 4, and why in monstadt they stopped whorshipping the god of time. Moreover it would make the analogy of the transparent bird a stronger one since Vennesa also turned into a bird when she ascended to celestia. Wow, nice conections
