The last revelation has always been my favorite of the TR PS1 games. To me, being able to explore Egypt fully was just a dream. I did some archaeology research and a lot of the levels are actually designed after real locations in Egypt and they’re pretty similar. This game felt the most “tomb raider” out of all the prior games. I loved it and can’t wait for the remaster. I played the Dreamcast version first, and that was the most attractive out of all the console releases.
Revelation is truly timeless, Egypt suits Tomb Raider perfectly, it's no surprise it takes place for the entire game and it's the most puzzle loaded, the only thing I dislike is the ending, as we know how that unfolds, but storywise alone it's so good!
This is the One Tomb Raider were you Raid Tombs, the real experience, no easy way out too, lots of brain burns puzzles and lots of backtracking and i love the vehicles parts, even if they were clunck and awkward... This one and motorcycle Relic Run levels are truly fun
I'm thinking of replaying this game soon. In retrospect, despite some faults, it is the best of the Core Design sequels, even though 3 has my favourite high points of the bunch. Solid video. 👍
I’m looking forward to play the remaster! As a child I was so intrigued about tomb raider and would watch my brothers play it but after playing the first 3 I’m ready for more ❤
The best one, as far as I'm concerned. It manages to feel like a true sequel to Tomb Raider 1 in terms of the pacing and level design. I am very much looking forward to next months remaster release.
And now we wait for the videos about chronices and Angel of Darkness. Also there is a chance that the LAU trilogy could get a remaster as well. But this is not official yet.
you should have explained that LAU means Legend - Anniversary - Trilogy as this is an acronym that is only known by the entities who dwell in your mind.
The only TR game that I've only finished once. While I like that they tried something different with this game (like the level structure), back in 1999 and early 2000 I mainly found it just too confusing and sprawling. It felt like the game lasted for 50 hours or something, multiple times the lengthy of the first three games. And I did not have regular access to the internet back then, so especially the Cairo levels were just pain. Buuut, I'm really looking forward to the remastered version to finally play this one again.
"The rope swing is clunky and that should've been cut" see that's the problem with casual gamers (and reviewers, who are the ones that are installing those stupid complains in the head of the casual gamer), they don't understand the philosophy of classic tomb raider games, they are supposed to be hard because you know what? rope swinging is hard in real life. That's how we ended up with tomb raider being developed by Crystal Dynamics, dumbed down version of their former self, developed for casual gamer who likes to mindlessly push buttons until the dinner is done.
Crystal Dynamics is a joke but you are wrong here... I'm an OG fán but rope swinging in this game is sometimes impossible that's how clunky it is... There were times when I stuck om a level for hours because of it 😐
The controls, cubed level designs, and repetitive textures in these game just sacked. I cannot stand these early Tomb Raider games, just ugly to look at and painful to control.
Because of this game, i become obsess in ancient egypt.. all levels and artifacts are search on internet when i was a kid... i remember saving all images in my floppy disk hahaha
This is my favorite TR game. Glad you actually played it.
I feel like this one really lived up to TR the way AoD should have. 😅
If you press the Look Button, you can actually skip the Tutorial Cutscenes 👀
Now way 😮
Wish they told us this 25 years ago
The Last Revelation is my favorite Tomb Raider game after the original. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Googling some images is now called archaeology research... 🤣🤣🤣
The last revelation did not hold your hand, if I had to say this one was the truest tomb raider experience you could have
Imo Tomb Raider 3 is way harder than TR4.
My favourite TR game and one of my all time favourites
I love when people reviewing the old tr games! Thank you

This was a good review very fair
I've enjoyed watching your review, thanks!
Oh and scaling that huge pyramid at the end was epic!

Using an explosive arrow at 6:30 would destroy all the aims in one shot.

the obscure puzzle is initiated due to the prominence of game hotlines back in the day that hilariously charge you

👌👌👌
more TR videos please!

In other words, these games aren't for you.
