Bloated Backlog
США
Добавлен 22 сен 2022
Going through my backlog one game at a time. I revisit older games that I haven’t played in a while, and review games that I play for the first time. Occasionally, I’ll review new releases that stand out to me and deserve more attention.
Mouthwashing - A Subtly Horrifying Game (Review)
Mouthwashing became one of my favorite experiences of 2024. It's been a while since a game has conflicted me and gave me things to reflect on. But be warned, despite this being a horror game, there is some heavy subject matter that might not be for everyone. You might feel terrible once you've discovered the entire story, and you might not even want to finish it. But if you can press on, it's one of the most immersive and cleverly designed games in recent memory.

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation - 25 Years Later (Milestone Review)
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.Месяц назад
Until now, I have never played The Last Revelation. I was initially dreading it after being frustrated with Tomb Raider games 2 and 3. With the 25th anniversary here, I finally pushed through the dread and played it. And I'm glad I did, because I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. #TombRaider #LaraCroft #Gaming #Review Store Page (Remaster) - GOG: www.gog.com/en/game/tomb_raider_iv...
Half-Life 2 Is Still Legendary 20 Years Later (Review)

Despite 5 grueling years of development which included a lawsuit, broken promises, and a major leak, Valve released a legendary game. Playing Half-Life 2 again in 2024 is just as incredible as it was back at release. #HalfLife #Valve #Gaming #Review #PC #Steam Store Page: store.steampowered.com/app/220/HalfLife_2/ 2016 GameSpot Article: The Final Hours of Half-Life 2 - www.gamespot.com/articles...
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign - 15 Years Later (Milestone Review)
Просмотров 2702 месяца назад
Modern Warfare 2 released on November 10, 2009 and became a huge hit. It set a record for the biggest entertainment launch in history with 4.7 million copies sold in the first 24 hours, which comes out to around $310 million. In the first 5 days of launching, it was reported that 8 million people were online playing the game. It was an unprecedented moment in gaming, and its influence can still...

(NOTE: if you are playing the remastered version on PC, after a fresh install you need to go to the advanced video options and disable both shader preload options. If you don't, any future attempts to launch the game will crash every time.) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - 15 Years Later (Single-Player Review)
Просмотров 7693 месяца назад
Uncharted 2 released 15 years ago on October 13, 2009. I’m still amazed with the high production values and cinematic set pieces. Most of the characters are still fantastic and memorable. And overall, it’s just plain fun to play through, despite the combat difficulty spikes at times. #Uncharted #NathanDrake #Review #Gaming #PlayStation Store Page: www.playstation.com/en-us/games/uncharted-the-n...
Revisiting Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (2024 Review)
Просмотров 4183 месяца назад
When Uncharted gets brought up nowadays, usually it's the sequels that get the most attention, and rightly so, but that should not diminish Drake's Fortune. It does have some rough edges, but it built a solid foundation of ideas that I think are still enjoyable in 2024. #Uncharted #NathanDrake #Review #Gaming #PlayStation Store Page: www.playstation.com/en-us/games/uncharted-the-nathan-drake-co...

Mirror's Edge Is Still One Of A Kind 15 Years Later (Review)
TR2 is brilliant. You obviously aren't any good at it.
a perfect remake, not for fanboys
Great review. Very comprehensive without being an hour long and no annoying meme humor.
If you think tr2 is hard wait for tr3. Tr1 is the easiest so I think tr2 strikes the right balance.
Never played the original, was in uni then and didn't play video games. But I played and loved Anniversary. I really appreciate remakes from the PS1/N64 era, those early 3D games are borderline unplayable today in their original form.
I really enjoyed rise, especially the climbing around with all the new tools. I can't really get into the combat system though, it just feels off..
Your voice sounds AI tbh
The best one, as far as I'm concerned. It manages to feel like a true sequel to Tomb Raider 1 in terms of the pacing and level design. I am very much looking forward to next months remaster release.
Sorry mate, but you'll never change my opinion. Tomb Raider 2 is my absolute favourite of the classic games. No, it's not perfect, and yes, it has its flaws. Thanks for that, Eiddos Interactive. Even so, I would argue that the number of human enemies makes it more believable than the first game and that the higher emphasis on combat showcases Lara's badassery. And yes, some of the puzzles were tedious, and some of the levels were long and non sensical, but I enjoy every second I spend playing Tomb Raider 2
I just finished TR2 for the first time after loving TR1. I was a little underwhelmed, honestly. My issues (other than the combat) were some sections outstaying their welcome and being overly hostile to the player. The shipwreck did not need to be four levels long and the Floating Islands were a slog and felt like filler. Why not go from the Temple of Xian straight to the dragon? It would make way more sense than suddenly having to go through a Chinese flavour of Half-Life's Xen. It's still a very good game though, and I bet I'll like it a lot more when I get around to replaying it in the future.
I honestly completely understand where you're coming from here. I've been a die hard TR fan and speedrunner for many years and TR3 is always the one I dread running. It doesn't matter how well you know the maps, it's INCREDIBLY easy to get lost in places like Lud's Gate and RX Tech Mines. The puzzles are quite unfair as well when compared to the previous two games. I have a love hate relationship with TR3, the nostalgia is definitely there for me to enjoy it - but there are those levels that just seem to be completely backwards in terms of logic and platforming. The save system on PS1 - along with the near absolute darkness in some levels - doesn't do it any favors. I'll still always hold this game close to me though. The 90's were a great time to be a gaming kid.
I’m currently playing this game remastered on switch 😊🎮
fun fact the previous team for tr 1 and 2 was fired and that was made by a different team
Most of your complaints are just describing Tomb Raider. Not a good review.
i came back here after finally seen the full game...yeah this game can burn ina fire lol tr1 ftw
Legend is the greatest TR I’ve ever played
Just replayed the Uncharted series. Still leaves me in awe of the coding skills. Major jump in depth of detail from one to the next. Great video!
One of those games that looks really good for it's time. And the soundtrack was very fitting.
I have been playing this game recently and I love it. Tomb Raider: Legend reminds me why I like Lara Croft.
RIP Raven. I grew up with their games
it's basically CD's Angel of Darkness
Loved this game!
This is the One Tomb Raider were you Raid Tombs, the real experience, no easy way out too, lots of brain burns puzzles and lots of backtracking and i love the vehicles parts, even if they were clunck and awkward... This one and motorcycle Relic Run levels are truly fun
Legend was watered down trash lol
TR3 is a great challenge if you've already completed 1 and 2, but if you start with that one like I did back then, it's hell. Nowadays I really enjoy it, I love the variety of levels, the fact that you can choose where to go after the jungle and I like it even more in remastered form, with all the details that look more clearly since there are not the same limitations anymore
Good review; good summary.
I think the locations are very creative and varied compared to 1 and I like the story. Everyone agrees about the amount of enemies- thankfully they fised it for 3, 4 and 5. Theu made one game that was too focused on combat and learned from their mistakes. Wish I could say the same about the survivor trilogy.
I never played all of those old ones.. so its all new to me and its a reboot so i think its ok to reuse that old stuff. I so wish she would do more globe trotting instead of just being on one place. Hopefully in the next one!
I wanted to see her getting undressed to have a wash in a waterfall. :)
Other gamer are very cheap in Xbox store but legends is the most expensive and I’m here to know why 😮
Today all these gamer are very cheap and is an opportunity to give a chance 😉👍
Just finished it last night and I feel the exact same way just started rise and that's way more fun
My Timesitters 2 game was stolen from a friend's house back in the day I'm still pissed off lol, cheap as chips on PSN store download Future Perfect and stuck on a stupid puzzle lol
I didn’t have that issue with jumping in anniversary nor did I have tutorials interrupting me besides the first level
I bought today 😉👍
You think TR2 is long? Just wait til you play TR4 bud. Lol
these games are a pleasure to play and the next gen updates on the ps5 are ample
I absolutely adored this game when i was younger, crowding round our tiny tv with my brothers screaming when playing flame tag, such a fun time!
I disagree. Contemporary gamers want to be guided every step of the way, have a pointer where to go and what to do. Today millions are invested in developing a game, so games are made easy, so that players don‘t lose interest. Take Skyrim for example. It always tells you go there do this and it even navigates you where you need to go. That makes every quest a chore. You don’t need to think.
Absolute review, Rise of the tomb raider is the best expedition game I have ever played, much better than any Uncharted game, the geographical setting feels like dark souls games.
Downloading the remasters right now. An awesome review. Earned a sub from me! Happy Holidays!
This was a good review very fair
Revelation is truly timeless, Egypt suits Tomb Raider perfectly, it's no surprise it takes place for the entire game and it's the most puzzle loaded, the only thing I dislike is the ending, as we know how that unfolds, but storywise alone it's so good!
My step dad said this game was gay but my faith is renewed.
Well, the MachineGames Indy game you mentioned at the end just got released, and... it's an XBOX exclusive 1st person perspective game, sigh... Now, while both this game and Staff of Kings are not unknown to me, until this date though I had no idea what to expect of these titles whatsoever. All I knew was that they got released on PS2, and I still have mine. Hence I'm doing some research on this games, to find out if these are worth a purchase and regarding that objective this very informative review of yours definitely served its purpose.
The new Indy is a timed exclusive, and will arrive on PS5 in the spring. A little bit longer!
@@bloatedbacklog Which is great for all Indiana Jones Fans out there... It is an absolutely amazing and charming game... The few mainly collection related bugs will be ironed out when the Game releases a little later which is a plus.
Using an explosive arrow at 6:30 would destroy all the aims in one shot.
The first half of Risotto of the Tomb Raider was an excellent game, then it fell off after the open area where you kill the bear, that should have been the end of the game as far as I’m concerned, because the rest of the game was not nearly as good
They are almost perfect. A lot of textures looking like blocks and not walls. No extra enemies or suprises. Why not have another T rex waiting on your way back from collecting cogs? It’s good but could have been so much more. Oh and they removed the roof from Midas
I was given this PC game in Xmas 1999 but my family we were travelling to the beach in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, so I had to extremely anxiously wait until we went back home sometime in January to (fck1ng) play it!
