She gives the family aunt vibes that makes everyone the butt of the joke to make themselves look cool but would get offended if they fire back at her cause "that's not how you talk to your elders". In Elen's case it's her ego.

Then be authentic to yourself and change it. Every time someone does, they get ostracized or blamed by people making such bitter comments.
Typically we consider people that deservingly call other out as savage, so there is admiration included.
Yes it's easier to be more forward when you have the financial backing, but that doesn't negate the fact that you're being authentic at the moment.
Keeping a friend has nothing to do with money.

I kinda see where you're coming from,, but usually those people are raised in very superficial households where keeping up appearances is a large part of their upbringing. Her behavior would be seen as uncouth and rude in those wealthy circles, so I don't think that's it. I think she's just genuine; perhaps _because_ of her upbringing being around a lot of phoniness.

Gen Z isn't over Celebrity worship, they just worship different kinds of celebrities. Ex* Streamers, Influencers, & Internet Personalities. When it comes to "Hollywood" Celebrities, than yes they are over it.
But any celebrity that is on RUclips, TikTok, and other streaming platforms, they are almost worse when it comes to idolizing because they can view their content 24/7 due to everyone having cell phones/tablets to view social media on.

    • @surette2012
      @surette2012 8 дней назад +2

Exactly. No offence, but the parasocial dynamics I see within younger millennials and gen z, gen alpha, and gen whatever the new one is…I find it’s worse and creepier.
Before a celebrity could maintain a pretty private life and was known for like…undeniable talent or charisma. people became famous because the public enjoyed a film, project or album they were involved in.
Now, some random person (usually a well connected/rich person) can just act like a ‘relatable’ and likeable person…pantomime whatever is trending and becomes a celebrity in the influencer/ internet jester scene. Usually someone can pull off being a influencer by having some level of wealth to begin with-a Rich daughter with a pretty and enviable life. A manicured bedroom and luxurious lifestyle the public views as aspirational.
Even the ‘relatable’ folks have some kind of diamond in the rough quality and when they gain fame the very thing people liked them for (struggling, living modestly, being socially aware) is destroyed.
It’s all pageantry and bullshit, so I kind of laugh at how gen z seems to pride themselves in valuing authenticity. It’s pretty patronizing to the generations before them…like I’m sure many also valued authenticity.
Meanwhile the judgment on identity politics, pretty privilege and bullying is like…obscenely bad in that generation. The comment sections speak for themselves. also the anti intellectualism and not valuing things outside of validation and consumerism.

Gen z is not even over Hollywood celebrities. Ariana Grande, Paul Mescal, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Hugh Jackman, Cynthia Erivo and more are currently popular in every social media. They do still more worship over internet stars though, I guess they just can't help themselves when it comes to anyone moderately famous. Some of them even call themselves famous if their RUclips or Instagram pages have over a couple thousand subscribers. I will never understand Celebrity worship.

@@surette2012 I am in the middle of being a Millennial but no offense taken, I agree actually. It is in so many ways worse the way they act towards celebrities of any kind.
A person doesn't even need to be likable or rich either to become famous, just look at those stupid IRL streamers that are a plague upon society. Those that have become rich as a result of that pathetic behavior (like Jack Doherty being the worst offender) have become influencers, but the Kardashians are definitely the pinnacle of rich/well connected person becoming an influencer with zero talent, except for making a s*x tape apparently.
All your other points are right on the mark. So many are just fake, do not know how to associate with others, extremely judgemental, and obsessed with consumerism. Although when speaking on the consumerism almost everyone is guilty of that to varying degrees, if not than consumerism would have never risin to the level it has in the first place.
The saddest part for me is how addicted to phones and social media they have all become. All I see are people on their phones 24/7 no matter the situation, like visiting family, eating, watching tv, playing games even. It has gotten completely out of control. Even some of the older generations have started to be like that.
It has reached a point with the younger generations are forgetting to how communicate outside of a phone, and how to even spell and write properly and complete a full sentence and proper sentence structure. I get not caring about those things when typing on the internet, but they can't even do it for school and other important things where grammar is important. I have began to hate most social media as a result.

6:50 i like how real she is but for madame web specifically it's clear she's not interested in comics and marvel in general, so why would you accept the project you're not passionate about? applies to a lot of celebrities not just her. like if it's only for money then there's no respect for that

    • @hellowilson5335

A lot of times they are sort of “forced” into it through contracts. So you want to be in 1 movie really bad but the studios make you sign a 3 movie contract and the other 2 movies are yet to be determined. Happens a lot with actors and is why you hear them say they had to drop out of a movie because of scheduling or they do movies they hate.
With madam web it’s also obvious they completely rewrote the script and did a lot of changes in post. Watching the movie their words don’t even match their lips because they’re acting a completely different script. The whole movie is basically a voice over.

I haven't really been a fan of Dakota Johnson specifically because she seemed so bored, but this has really helped change my perspective. Rather than seeing her as bored, I think it serves as a great reminder that really, it's other celebrities constantly putting on a show that raise the bar of enthusiasm I expect from people in show business. Great video.

It's not just Gen z I believe all the generations are sick of it. The last few years it's just too much from all of them. I'm on the last year of Gen x , so a year off from being a millennial and I can't stand Hollywood the award shows any of it. There's no magic or mystique about it they're all woke and ridiculous and don't have any idea what it's like in real life. I do believe people like the Kardashians have caused actual harm to society and young girls. I think multiple generations would rather watch RUclips and regular people nowadays. I rarely ever watch a movie or TV shows I'm much prefer to watch RUclips.

but yeah, i know very little about dakota in general and don't keep up with anything about her, but i've always been very fond of her for her authenticity and lack of shits given in situations. when you said "you can pay me to act but you can't pay me to pretend to like the movie" that beautifully sums it up lol, it's an attitude i love

The problem w/ her isn't her nepo baby status. Anyone could potentially be a nepo baby. If your parents work in an industry that you want to enter, should you do something else w/ your life, b/c you'd have certain advantages? That's an unrealistic ask. The problem is, when she was called out for being a nepo baby, she summarily dismissed all those complaints and refused to simply admit that she had certain advantages that others didn't, and that's really all you can ask of someone in that position. But, she failed to do that, and it shows that she's just out of touch.

You all continue this narrative of Gen Z being over celebrities. Gen Z is obsessed with follower counts, content creation and scroll culture - which is all engagement based. It’s CELEBRITY. It’s just evolved from the talent of acting and other forms of art (not counting the one hit wonders and other “popular folks) into influencers and other Internet personalities. Celebrity isn’t going anywhere if you’re still talking about celebrities lol

It’s funny bc she really could’ve responded better to “I didn’t even know you liked me” could’ve cracked some sort of joke or redirected - but she had to dig deeper and was totally off balance the rest of that part bc she’s not used to *anyone* pushing back, she’s used to feeling like the big dog. Meanwhile, Dakota is a nepo baby that can exist entirely outside and independently of Ellen’s sphere.
