Pointing out some details that maybe you already know: - The messages from 0:12 to the phone call at 0:18 was from someone called "Chief". I can't read what the first two messages are (since they are very long and I can't see them clearly) but the other two are "Hey, come back" and "Do you intend to ignore/abandon/give up your missions/duties/jobs?" -> The "Chief" was calling Mikoto to "come back" to work (so the first two messages might be about work) => Clearly Mikoto was overworking, and this is also a normal issue in Japan. (also Mikoto''s phone wallpaper is the tarot card "The Hanged Man" on his shirt in "MeMe") - At 0:18 and 1:18, the Japanese words are "Good morning" and it seems that Mikoto also saying "Good morning" at those frames too. - At around 1:19, Mikoto is sitting while his reflection on the window breaking down (sorry if I'm not using the right word). The next scene is Mikoto standing up, holding the baseball bat and smashing the mannequins => The one sitting and then standing up with a bat is John (for anyone who have no ideas who is John, he is Oretoko. John is the name Es gave to him, originally from "John Doe"), and also it's clearly a fact that John was formed from Mikoto's stress (that's why they showed him being stressful). - From 1:49 (Mikoto running), the word showing repeatedly is "Dream", and from 2:02 (John walking), the words are "savior" (there is an arrow pointing at John) and "save you". From 2:17 and 2:20, the words appearing are "Double" and "MeMe", respectively. [There are also a lot of letters (I don't even know if they are letters) that are blurry and unreadable appearing with these words, and some more at some other frames) - At 1:53, there's a pair of red eyes and at 2:17, there's a pair of blue eyes, both looking angry. - The lines, "If only I were never born, if only." "I'm sorry." can be seen as John's lines, showing that he feels guilty and sorry for Mikoto. What he did was to "save Mikoto from breaking", but in the end, what he did was still murdering, and since Mikoto has DID, what John did also affects Mikoto. In the voice drama, Es said something like "What John did is considered a sin" (I don't really think it is to blame Mikoto since the context of the sentence is about "What will happen to Mikoto, legally speaking"). I think John feels guilty for something like dirtying Mikoto's hands. (I am very sorry if what I said here is wrong or offend anyone since I'm still trying to get used to DID related terms and English is not my mother language. Please gently correct me if I'm wrong, thank you very much.) - The mannequins might represent the society, the strangers around Mikoto (and it kind of makes senses since John said he killed "some random strangers walking around"). The mannequins are also the same kind that appeared in "The Hanged Man", and since Mikoto is a designer, mannequins was used for symbolism. Overall the MV was amazing I have literally no words. In the end I just want to hug this poor dude he did so much for his family and his future, he really tried his best. Will forgive him for sure. *I edited it a bit after wandering on Twitter and other comments!
@@TIME-fe6ne yes, especially in this song John sings more than in MeMe. And in Reversible Campaign cover too, makes me wanna cry I wish we could just hug them or sth ; ;

Omg thank you for sharing so many details, also your English is excellent. Just that it wouldn't be "I think John feels guilty for something like dirty mikoto's hands" but "... something like dirtying mikoto's hands"
I forgot to mention this but i really have to commend natsuki hanae for his brilliant VA-singing. The stark difference in tone when Mikoto is singing vs when John is singing is stellar.
I'm pretty sure this entire song is John singing. The lyrics are basically him talking to Mikoto, saying "hey you're going to break, so I'll save you" and whenever there's a first person pronoun it's always "ore" which Mikoto doesn't use. The only part that wouldn't be him is when Mikoto is speaking to his mother on the phone.
@@merkyuruu youre right in that all verses are sung by john. but the chorus repeats its main tune twice. first time 0:37 is mikoto, second time 0:50 is john. its shown visually as well since its mikoto on the screen when this is sung, and john when it switches. additionally in the first part of the chorus no personal pronouns are used, 'ore' is used to start off the second rep for the chorus also at the end, mikotos doing the background vocals when he says "i dont know anything, etc," and john responds with "thats expected, im double," so on so forth.
@@soleilpeik ahh you're right you're right, initially i had thought even if mikoto was onscreen, it was like john watching him and speaking to him. but rereading lyrics i realized which were the lines that only apply to mikoto.
At 2:17, Mikoto and “John” are having a conversation and it’s very sad. Mikoto is breaking down, and “John” is comforting him-But Mikoto is not aware of “John”’s existence, so he can’t hear him. That “I’m so sorry” is most likely an apology from “John” to Mikoto, not for us.
i disagree, since we can see which one is in control by their eye shines. mikoto has a shine at the top, and 'john' has a shine at the bottom. best seen at 0:48. also, when the train has bright lights outside, its mikoto. when the lights are black, its 'john'.
@@Redheart709 i agree with all of the proof i just don’t understand why it would be mikoto saying it? the whole bit at the end does feel like a one sided conversation (since mikoto doesn’t know about “johns” existence) and so “john” being the one to say im so sorry makes more sense imo
2:17 noticed how to know who's the one talking in the convo between Mikoto and John. Mikoto's parts has pianos in the background while John's parts are mostly just guitar
@@marzdust yeah i'm pretty sure he's a people pleaser and that he realised he fucked up at some kind of point, I dont really think John would apologise for protecting mikoto
@@Keijikink I think John more so apologises for basically getting Mikoto into trouble. also there's the use of 'Ore' just before so I'm inclined to think this was John and not Mikoto.
wanted to point out, at 1:49 mikoto is running from who knows what, and right after that it’s john with a bat. the angle and just way they run/walk reminds me of horror movies where the victims being chased by the killer
Actually quite a lot of stuff in Mikoto’s MVs is based off of western horror movies. Especially in meme where he’s in the shower represents how in a lot of movies it’s normally a woman getting attacked in killed in a shower and stuff, possibly portraying that mikoto/John are more of victims than anything or something bad happened in that scene
@@PlantFood_ MIKOTO didn't talk his mother about his distress because he don't want to cause his mother to worry about him. MIKOTO is too kind to break himself.
@@liamhunter4154as a person w DID, I kinda think that maybe Mikoto had DID before, but like 1. either alters went dormance or 2. all of them were fused before the other one formed or 3. the alter was there before it all, but triggered by the stress many possibilities tbh
Firstly, the song is INCREDIBLE. Secondly, we get some new insight on Mikoto’s internal thoughts. Interestingly, we don’t see the alter(s) and host merge at the end like we saw with MeMe. Thirdly, animation is BEAUTIFUL. Although another thing I find interesting is that there isn’t any tarot card symbolism but we get a phone call in exchange
i might be wrong but at the end of meme i always thought it was his aggressive alter punching his innocent one at the very end which for me kinda fits more with how this mv went with the aggressive alter seemingly chasing the innocent one to try and hurt him more
I see John as a child who doesn't understand much. His desire to help the main personality. He observes the suffering and, because of his lack of knowledge, comes to the wrong conclusion. And so working hard and not getting the approval he needed (he wanted to be praised, from this line "count me to the savior), John is even more stressed. In the end, he realizes that he was moving on the wrong path. Because he wanted to protect his main personality and not be an enemy to him.
0:45 Mikoto/Mikoto’s alter acknowledging that so many people in the fandom called him a faker and a manipulator (doubted his DID/OSDD despite the concrete proof) sent chills down my spine, I feel so sorry for him.
@@cheyannegiles9772 Similar to MeMe, the contrast between the piano and the guitar instrumentals may provide a hint as to which alter is singing the lyrics. Even in the last part of the song, Mikoto and John sound like they're communicating with each other. Throughout the song, there are subtle differences with how John and Mikoto sing, with mikoto on the gentler side and john on the harsher side
i love how in 1:49 - 2:01 while he's running as Mikoto the drums and guitar are really messy, whereas from 2:02 - 2:16 when he's "John" it sounds more coherent and in-tune with the singing idk what it means just thought it was cool
Good observation i think its like that cause mikoto is stressed 24/7 but john or orekoto isnt cause he’s “protecting” mikoto by preventing his suicidal thoughts (cause he’s overworked and someones breaking point would def be suicide).
The frustration displayed by the both of them is so lit. Mikoto feels confused and in distraught while Orekoto is feeling kinda guilty for hurting the people around him and Mikoto as well despite having good intentions. The song and va is so nice too holy shit
Yuno I think that was her name isn't outright a murderer she had a lot of abortion which technically means she didn't kill anyone in the legal sense of the word, the same could go to Mahiru who's boyfriend decided to kill himself due to the toxicity of their relationship isn't Mahiru's fault in the sense of him dying, you could say she did kill him by driving him to that extent of taking his own life or kazui and the fact that his wife decided to kill herself after revealing the truth to her and more, while milgram does consider them guilty of their "crimes"
I think the right term is responsible. Each one, in various ways, is responsible for the death of someone or someones. It's our job to decide whether or not they're guilty or innocent, in the same way that a court might. Guilty? They get punished. Innocent? They still had to go through the hearing. We as a collective can decide whether or not they deserve to be forgiven, but at the end of the day the truth of Milgram is very, VERY subjective.
I mean... John was the one who actually k*lled people, but the one being judged is Mikoto, not John, so if we put it like that, Mikoto is the only innocent one, the guilty one would be John
I absolutely love how this song showed that the alter isn’t actually evil and was only trying to protect Mikoto. DID is so misrepresented in media so it’s good to see something like this take a step in the right direction. Edit: I’m not saying it’s strictly good representation, yes there is problems with it but it is going in a more realistic and sympathetic direction than what it usually is in media
EXACTLY!!! I was so scared that this was just gonna be another "hehe murder alter" type of deal, so I'm really happy that it's not. I'm friends with a DID system, and I've seen how the media's representation of systems has negatively affected them, so it's nice to see that things might be starting to change for the better :) Edit: I want to make it clear that I'm aware that Mikoto's system is still not perfect representation and that it does still align with unfortunate stereotypes, but it does seem a lot more fleshed-out (if that makes sense?) than other systems portrayed in media. That's what I was referring to in my original comment!
I really love this song too! Especially how it takes into account how most people develop DID as a result of trauma/stress, and how the alter is "the protector" or "savior" of the person.
I'm sorry to break it to you but this isn't the good DID representation you're thinking it is. If you listen to the voice drama the aggressive alter (named John by Es) admits that he's just killing people because he wants to hurt people and take out Mikoto's stress on others. He is definitely not the protective alter you think he is. Yes, he wants to protect Mikoto but from his own (Johns) actions. His argument is that Mikoto didn't commit the crimes so he should not be guilty for them which isn't how systems should work. If one person in a system committed a crime, all of them are responsible. He's definitely guilty.
@@kyebunny66 From another DID system, I'd argue that the milgram team is still giving some justice for this condition, acknowledging the alter roles & the diagnosis. With the way Milgram works, not even the voice drama can be judged at face value 😭😭 Forget the story context though! Like just because the guy with DID is guilty, doesn't mean the show is representing it badly. Probably with this, people can explore the concept of writing a DID character too. Milgram's setup allows you to dissect motives within each character, and with Mikoto even more so. (this is like 3 steps ahead of where we wanted this to go: wanting people to know that people with DID aren't monsters) He could just be a first good critique of media (and us on the internet, regardless of having DID or not) failing to address the consequence of this disorder- somehow we always end up with two extremes: Moon Knight, or Split. In the end, you being an alter cannot exempt your host from consequences. And the host shouldn't hide, glorify, blame or rid their alters out of inconvenience. No superpowers to make you sympathize or idolize him, no sugarcoat, nothing. Just some guy and his alter, with an exaggerated example of consequence (murder).
@@kyebunny66 and you really think John/orekoto is telling the truth there? It should be pretty clear that he was acting out as a monster at the start and became more docile after Es wasn’t phased by that, and slipped back into that persona when discussing a sensitive topic such as the murder/s and saying that he did it bc they were annoying him to make himself look like the bad guy and to protect Mikoto from any further stress
Just want to bring up a theory I’ve been interested in lately. Basically it goes that Mikoto and John aren’t the only alters, but there are underdeveloped fragment alters as well. As John is referred to being newly born but DID can’t form in adulthood. But this is rather than the whole theory that there’s a secret 3rd one behind the scenes. Basically from what I’ve heard a fragment is a lesser developed alter that are dedicated to perform specific tasks. And that’s essentially what the mannequins represent, and especially with the shot at the beginning of John standing limp along the mannequins representing how he’s much more fully formed compared to the others. And it’s especially hinted it with his voice line in the trial 2 teaser trailer. Where we hear John screaming at people who are being annoying and threatening to kill them. At first this would seem like it’s referring to what he said in Neoplasm, about killing a bunch of random people who annoyed him. But what he said there was clearly a lie especially how he would’ve immediately been arrested if he did that, and how Mikoto was waiting for a single person to come by at the train station. So then the only explanation I can think of is in that line John isn’t referring to other physical people, but when he was first born referring to the voices of the other fragments. And how he was fearful of them and threatened them and perhaps believing they would hurt Mikoto. It’s also implied that because of this John might’ve repressed them, trying to leave only him and Mikoto (although I’m not sure about the logistics of this). As if the mannequins represent fragments then John killing them in the train could be representative of that, and how he regrets what he did and views his actions as violence. And with him saying “just the two of us, relieved aren’t you?” definitely implies how perhaps he did that to “protect” Mikoto in his own eyes. And when it comes to the physical murder, it’s represented in Double with the mannequin pieces flying outside the train (eg outside of his mind) where interestingly enough John didn’t hit anything himself with the bat. I do think this is interesting though about even if John isn’t the killer physically, what he could’ve done could be considered murder as per milgram tackling topics of wether something can be considered murder or not. And perhaps he wasn’t entirely lying in Neoplasm, but rather twisting the truth or believing that’s what happened.
As someone with a dissociative disorder caused by secondary structural dissociation, it's scientifically proven that you cannot "kill" fragments or alters. They don't dissapear- if anything, they'd integrate.
@@hoyomooncould you elaborate? I mainly heard about this theory and added onto to it but I’ve heard a lot of people saying something a long the lines could happen but I’m not sure I’m going off what I’ve heard
@@LanieMae Alters or fragments cannot ever disappear, die, etc. It is only possible that they fuse together (you can research fusion/integration of alters if you want, since it's really hard to explain). I doubt John integrated with a bunch of other alters because that would mean he would have to form a strong relationship with them (ex: be able to communicate with them and share similar beliefs and ideals with them) to eventually fuse together into the same person. DID/OSDD are severe trauma disorders. As we are children, we all have ego states. These ego states are different parts of ourself/emotions/needs (ex: one ego state is hungry, one is mad, etc). At ages 6-9, these ego states fuse together to form one personality- but if there is severe trauma, some ego states may disagree (ex: one ego state can think a caregiver is safe and another may think that they're not). At this point, these ego states split further apart and develop different identities. To protect the person in the body, they usually set up amnesiac barriers as well. These alters cannot kill each other because they'd have to physically interact with the brain's chemistry and functioning which is impossible. It's like saying you can freely seperate your personality into ego states and destroy ego states at will, which you cannot do. Sorry for the long explanation!
@@hoyomoon Can't the alters go dormant? In which case, couldn't John believe that aren't here anymore even if they are. Or he could he lose the ability communicate with them? Genuinely asking. Moreover it also depends how accurate the creators make it too.
@@virtualmushr00m Yes! But since alters can only go dormant or fuse, if alters "disappear", someone in a system will know that they aren't actually gone. It depends though. I think it is possible that John might think the others are gone but I am unsure.
So about Mikoto’s motive. I’ve seen a lot of people here say that he probably killed someone because he was stressed and lashes out. Or that John killed a bunch of people who annoyed him (which I highly doubt, but I explained that in another comment). So I wanna talk about a theory for why he killed someone which hasn’t been bought up here that often. It’s kinda hard to explain it here but here’s what I think happened. Mikoto was being stalked by someone, as MeMe has alot of motifs of cameras and being watched, and double has alot of eye motifs. I believe this was likely for sxual reasons as there’s lots of fanservice imagery in MeMe, especially when compared to other characters which have none of that imagery (especially Yuno) so why would Mikoto have both that sort of imagery if it’s not important in some way? I think something happened for Mikoto to realise this and possibly due to prexisting trauma he was particularly affected by this. Possibly to the point he felt like something like this could never happen again and attempted to hunt down the stalker and kill them. That’d explain why he had a baseball bat in a scene that looks premeditated. I’m not entirely sure on this but it could also be that he accidentally killed innocent people (or maybe not so innocent, as he killed a gang member) in a quest to find the true stalker. I believe this is what happened to lead Mikoto to kill, but he was so shocked and traumatised by the whole sequence of events that John took over, inheriting all of Mikoto’s memories of what he did and attempting to shift the blame onto himself. Because he’d never want Mikoto to get hurt for his actions, so he started portraying himself as an evil monster that poor innocent Mikoto has to deal with. Again this is just a theory but I feel like it’s interesting to bring up here as I definitely think he has a much more complex motive than “I just did it because I was stressed”. I feel like I might’ve not given the full context of this theory so I’d recommend checking out the original theory that was made for this which is a comment on the trailer video for double. And I also made a big theory on this on tumblr which you may find interesting.
BRO FINALLY A THEORY ON THIS IVE LITERALLY BEEN SO CURIOUS ABT THIS TYSM UR THEORY IS SO COOL, IVE ALWAYS FELT WEIRD ABT THE THEORY THAT MIKOTO GOT TOO STRESSED SO JOHNS CREATED AND LASHES OUT.. I MEAN IT MIGHT BE TRUE BUT IT FEELS TOO SIMPLE YKWIM
I like the idea of Mikoto being the one to start but then John existing simply to take the blame, it gives a new meaning to all the reassurance John is giving in the song and explains why Mikoto is bound by Milgram and John technically isn't (I think John was able to lash out at Es or something, which the milgram prisoners aren't supposed to be able to do).
@@Yapuwfou yeah totally! Especially the lyrics “I’ll take it all on” which can also be translated as “I’ll shoulder/carry it all” which can be interpreted as him taking the blame to protect Mikoto
I've been thinking about why we are judging Mikoto and not 'John'. I currently have three theories about it. 1. We are judging Mikoto's passiveness. I don't think Mikoto remembers much (or at all) of what 'John' did, however I do believe that he may be aware that there might be something wrong but is ignoring it. This is also in line with the differences the 10 prisoners has (faithful and unfaithful, bully and the bullied, etc.). Kotoko actively tries to save others while Mikoto dismisses and denies the feeling that there's something wrong since he's been under immense pressure already and what 'John' did may break him down more. 2. Mikoto is the one who killed. I still don't think he remembers. It's either 'John' was born/woke up from dormancy when Mikoto snapped and therefore he doesn't remember that he did it since the immense pressure and stress it gave him makes him break down and 'John' is his protector alter or Im not sure if it's possible to pass memories when 'John' split if it's the time he was born. 'John' wants to save him and protect him thus admitting to Mikoto's crimes since Mikoto doesn't know what he did and he doesn't want Mikoto to break down. This is his difference with Kotoko saving others, and him saving himself. 'John' doesn't want Mikoto to find out about his murder in order to protect his mental state. 3. Mikoto may really not be aware of 'John's' actions. He is the one being judged for he is the 'main personality (? Im not sure of the correct term)' and he has to be held accountable for the actions of the other identities too (I think it's called system accountability?). I'm really not well-versed about DID but I hope I didn't say anything offending;; I'm voting forgive either ways but I really hope the best for 'John' and Mikoto. Both of them looks really tired. I wish I could just hug them.
0:01 - 0:02 Mikoto switches to John for the first time 0:59 1st onscreen murder 1:12 - 1:19 John is born 1:26 2nd onscreen murder 1:49 - 1:55 possibly Mikoto trying to run away from the sins he committed / John chasing after someone (possibly trying to kill them) 2:00 3rd onscreen kill 2:13 4th onscreen murder 2:16 - 2:30 conversation between John and Mikoto
I doubt mikoto's alter will continue killing if he's voted innocent. The song shows the guilt and regret the alter has for making mikoto's life accidentally worse
if you havent listened to the vd yet, john (mikoto's alter, the name is given by es) gives us two possible outcomes: with an innocent verdict, john will no longer be needed as mikoto wont be in danger anymore. he will likely go dormant and "dissappear" with a guilty verdict, mikoto will stop fronting altogether and probably go dormant, as the stress will become so bad that only john will be able to hold it for them. of course the reality is more nuanced than that, but taking john's words at face value gives us an interesting dillema. going innocent though because he does. not deserve to suffer. neither of them do.
@@jyutoiruma Well. I don't know about "Neither of them". John, be it for Mikoto's case or not, killed at least one to a few innocent people who did nothing nor had anything to do with Mikoto's situation. Let's not forget that from the outside in John had essentially murdered people for no other reason than "they looked at me funny." Understand that this has a greater affect to the people related to the victims, families and loved ones. This would've been a different scenario all together if the people John killed were directly tied to Mikoto's suffering, but unfortunately they weren't. In the world outside of Milgram, the people would not stand for it and demand justice. Mikoto's life is forfeit because of his alter's actions. That said I do want to believe in what John was saying. That he doesn't care what happens to him so long as Mikoto is spared. We're also given the unique privilege of being in a sort of super natural situation to where we could theoretically confirm weither or not John will keep his word and disappear on a forgiven virdict. The ultimate proof of this would be giving John another chance to act out violently... that being giving Kotoko a GUILTY. the one who hurt and harmed Mikoto, now left in a vulnerable position. If he takes NO action, and John does as promised, then this should all ultimately pan out to where Mikoto will be able to move on. There is also the possibility that Mikoto becomes fully aware of the consequences of John's actions as well as John's existence and decides to take responsibility for it all. In short. Due to these circumstances I'm willing to give Mikoto the innocent vote because I as well as many others find Mikoto himself innocent, not John. Should John not follow through on his word and his existence continues to remain active within Mikoto's mindscpe via Milgram's T3 introvideo, then Mikoto will ultimately end up Guilty.
@@flakops5194honestly,are we sure orekoto/john knows how to "disappear" ? From what I know about systems (please correct me if i'm wrong!!) orekoto could at the very atleast go dormant.
the animation has improved so much... anyways, my thoughts/notes on double - in the beginning, mikoto goes down and the screen starts cracking. in neoplasm, john mentions how mikoto was gonna break from under the stress because he kept it all in. this is also meant to probably resemble johns' split? since he mentions he was just born. - he also starts getting calls and texts from someone called "chief", and since (i assume due to mikoto's personality, i don't think he'd just throw the phone away like that!) mikoto isn't fronting during this, john "throws" the phone away. he might've actually thrown it away, but he probably didn't since the train isn't actually where he killed! (u can see it in undercover) - the mannequins... hm, i think these are actual people, but they may just be mannequins due to either 1) de-reality. derealization is a state of mind where you feel disconnected from your surroundings, and people and objects seem unreal. 2) this can be interconnected with point one, john does not remember the mannequins/people he killed, and his memory is "fuzzy" (he says this in neoplasm i didnt make this up wjkdkdk) 3) john just.. doesn't care? - the doors to when john enters the train are green, but afterwards you can see the doors actually.. aren't. i don't think this is just a simple animation mistake, and it's meant to represent the possibility of a 3rd alter (mido, in this sense). i still believe in 3koto due to the fact this isn't yamanaka's first time writing a sys, and if he made john and mikoto the only alters, it would be very unrealistic. john split in mikotos 20s under stress, and DID forms in the childhood. - 0:38 white is mikoto, and 0:50 black is john. black spiritually symbolizes the unconscious and mystery, while white is a good healing color for the removal of pain and suffering.

Pointing out some details that maybe you already know:
- The messages from 0:12 to the phone call at 0:18 was from someone called "Chief".
(also Mikoto''s phone wallpaper is the tarot card "The Hanged Man" on his shirt in "MeMe")
- At 0:18 and 1:18, the Japanese words are "Good morning" and it seems that Mikoto also saying "Good morning" at those frames too.
[There are also a lot of letters (I don't even know if they are letters) that are blurry and unreadable appearing with these words, and some more at some other frames)
- At 1:53, there's a pair of red eyes and at 2:17, there's a pair of blue eyes, both looking angry.
Please gently correct me if I'm wrong, thank you very much.)
- The mannequins might represent the society, the strangers around Mikoto (and it kind of makes senses since John said he killed "some random strangers walking around").

@@merkyuruu youre right in that all verses are sung by john. but the chorus repeats its main tune twice. first time 0:37 is mikoto, second time 0:50 is john. its shown visually as well since its mikoto on the screen when this is sung, and john when it switches. additionally in the first part of the chorus no personal pronouns are used, 'ore' is used to start off the second rep for the chorus
also at the end, mikotos doing the background vocals when he says "i dont know anything, etc," and john responds with "thats expected, im double," so on so forth.

People still forgotting that all prisoners ARE guilty, we're just deciding If they deserve to be forgiven or not
Yuno I think that was her name isn't outright a murderer she had a lot of abortion which technically means she didn't kill anyone in the legal sense of the word, the same could go to Mahiru who's boyfriend decided to kill himself due to the toxicity of their relationship isn't Mahiru's fault in the sense of him dying, you could say she did kill him by driving him to that extent of taking his own life or kazui and the fact that his wife decided to kill herself after revealing the truth to her and more, while milgram does consider them guilty of their "crimes"
@@evisl.w6552yes I agree. But we also know that even Mikoto isnt really guilty. Only his other "self"

I'm friends with a DID system, and I've seen how the media's representation of systems has negatively affected them, so it's nice to see that things might be starting to change for the better :)
Edit: I want to make it clear that I'm aware that Mikoto's system is still not perfect representation and that it does still align with unfortunate stereotypes, but it does seem a lot more fleshed-out (if that makes sense?) than other systems portrayed in media.
(this is like 3 steps ahead of where we wanted this to go: wanting people to know that people with DID aren't monsters)
He could just be a first good critique of media (and us on the internet, regardless of having DID or not) failing to address the consequence of this disorder- somehow we always end up with two extremes: Moon Knight, or Split.

BRO FINALLY A THEORY ON THIS IVE LITERALLY BEEN SO CURIOUS ABT THIS TYSM
UR THEORY IS SO COOL, IVE ALWAYS FELT WEIRD ABT THE THEORY THAT MIKOTO GOT TOO STRESSED SO JOHNS CREATED AND LASHES OUT..

I am really excited for finally getting more information about Mikoto's crime and character.
3. Mikoto may really not be aware of 'John's' actions. He is the one being judged for he is the 'main personality (? Im not sure of the correct term)' and he has to be held accountable for the actions of the other identities too (I think it's called system accountability?). I'm really not well-versed about DID but I hope I didn't say anything offending;;
I'm voting forgive either ways but I really hope the best for 'John' and Mikoto. Both of them looks really tired. I wish I could just hug them.

The animation quality has improved so incredibly much over time.
DEFINITELY one of the best songs and MVs of this project so far.
I love how the light in his eyes flips depending on who's fronting 😩
Wait I just noticed that omg
I doubt mikoto's alter will continue killing if he's voted innocent. The song shows the guilt and regret the alter has for making mikoto's life accidentally worse
according to the VD if mikoto’s voted innocent his alter will just straight up disappear
if you havent listened to the vd yet, john (mikoto's alter, the name is given by es) gives us two possible outcomes:
with an innocent verdict, john will no longer be needed as mikoto wont be in danger anymore. he will likely go dormant and "dissappear"
with a guilty verdict, mikoto will stop fronting altogether and probably go dormant, as the stress will become so bad that only john will be able to hold it for them.
of course the reality is more nuanced than that, but taking john's words at face value gives us an interesting dillema. going innocent though because he does. not deserve to suffer. neither of them do.

MVとか歌詞に考察する内容たーーくさんあって面白いミルグラムはこれだから好きなんだ
The music video was absolutely amazing and the vocals were on point!! I’m voting innocent this trial.
the animation has improved so much... anyways, my thoughts/notes on double
- in the beginning, mikoto goes down and the screen starts cracking. in neoplasm, john mentions how mikoto was gonna break from under the stress because he kept it all in. this is also meant to probably resemble johns' split? since he mentions he was just born.
(u can see it in undercover)
- the mannequins... hm, i think these are actual people, but they may just be mannequins due to either
1) de-reality. derealization is a state of mind where you feel disconnected from your surroundings, and people and objects seem unreal.
2) this can be interconnected with point one, john does not remember the mannequins/people he killed, and his memory is "fuzzy" (he says this in neoplasm i didnt make this up wjkdkdk)
3) john just.. doesn't care?
