      To my knowledge, VERY small creators can be sent a product for review. They just have to send it back after, and I don't know what their actual reward will be.
      That being said, this is a great and seemingly honest review.

    • @gamers-generation
      @gamers-generation  Год назад +2

      @Johnnyvtg I would say you're essentially correct, except that brands will typically not engage at all with smaller creators as they might not deem it "worthy of their time". That said, you can expect disclosures to be honest in at least whether they were sponsored or not for review (this is a legal requirement). The XREAL glasses (and Beam coming soon) were not paid for, given, provided, or even acknowledged by the company in this channel's case.
      That said, thanks for your seemingly honest comment -- I'm kidding here, thanks for your two cents!

    I ordered these the day of the Apple Vision Pro demo… I started searching for alternatives. I found XReal for the headset and the Mudra Band for pretty much the same gestures displayed with the AVP.
    When I researched Xreal I knew that the Beam would be the thing that sold me on the product. Based on the reviews back then it seemed to solve the limitations of the glasses.
    I was impatient and ordered the glasses outside of the Beam bundle package (for less than $500). I figured if I didn’t like the headset at all I’d just return it.
    I was surprised, because even with its limitations (a screen that follows you all around) it was still a pretty cool concept. My use case has been using it to augment my phone the same way my AirPods Pro’s do. It also made Apple Gaming and Mobile gaming in general finally make sense to me. First thing I did was download Streets of Rage IV and get a controller.
    These are 100% an entry level alternative to the Apple Vision Pro for me. My main thing was having a giant screen that I could take with me EVERYWHERE I went. Problem solved.
    At less than $500 for the Glasses and Beam vs $3499. I am more than willing to consider purchasing a new one of these as the company grows the product. They’ve also been making strides via Firmware updates. The latest is a 120hz update to the glasses.
    What’ll sink or swim this product is the Beam though, that’s where the rubber meets the road.

      Thank you for your incredibly detailed comment about your experience. I didn't know about the Mudra Band, Thanks for that information as well!

    • @504cool

      @@gamers-generation Thanks man. I guess I’m a frustrated Apple customer who refuses to pay $3499 for the AVP. I really think they’re leaving good money on the table by not introducing an affordable product like this to the masses.
      Folks spend over or under $1000 every year Apple innovates the iPhone. I won’t be shelling out $3499 every time Apple makes a update to the vision pro. At $3499, I start making different decisions with money.

    As a long time user of the xReal Air's myself, I can honestly say its one of the best tech purchases Ive made in a long time, and like many others have said, yes, is one of the best accessories for my Steam Deck, with a few caveats (simultaneous charging and usage being one of them....use the Red Dragon adapter).
    That said, they are about to get a lot more usefull and usable once I get my hands on the Beam! 3-DOF in your pocket on ANY device?! Yes please!
    Some added info,
    There also seems to be another Windows based solution for XR called GingerXR. I havent tried it yet, but Ive see a few videos with it running successfully. Not sure all the caveats to this approach either. Hopefully Nebula Windows will be a smooth experience once it finally launches...whenever that is.
    Nebula App is pretty much dead to me.

      @@spaceghostcqc2137 I don't personally find my eyes get irritated or anything when reading on them, but it'll probably highly depend on the ambient light around you and just how small of the text you're reading actually is. Since the clarity is so good, it also doesn't lend itself to pixelation or graininess. My captures really don't do the visual clarity justice.

    I almost went with the Rokid Max. I was watching many RUclips reviews and the Rokid max stand alone are better then the Xreal Air. However i hear the support and community suck from what i read which i could deal with. But I just recently started seeing reviews for Xreal Beam and it changed my opinion. The Rokid Station seems cool n all but can just use my Fold 4. The spatial aspect of the Beam seems infinitely better plus a easier way to use the switch or steam deck is a huge bonus.

    • @gamers-generation
      @gamers-generation  Год назад +1

      Not very well in my opinion. Using the app which is still a WIP will net you mixed results based on your hardware (didn't really work well for me, but some have reported it works "fine"). In the case where you just plug in the glasses to a USB-C output on a laptop or handheld device, it's like plugging in a second monitor, which is fine if you're using ONLY the glasses to display, but if you're displaying on both (either mirrored or extended) the image will be smack dab in the middle of your face, mean you won't be able to see very well the original laptop or handheld screen, so you need beam to "move" the display out of the way if that makes sense.
      Thanks for your comment!
