Don’t listen to dealers. They know nothing. R6’s are a rudimentary 20 year old design and have zero electronics holding them back from a simple ignition swap. Hey I did it.. no issues and mine was fine.

I have a question petrohead.... I enjoy ur videos and am learning from them. In would like ur opinion, I have a 2020 R6 I picked up a month ago..... I am having difficulty turning (left and right turns) at low speeds and also making u turns / tight turns...... I almost dropped bike twice ..... Any suggestions on how to compensate for the poor turning radius on the R6?
@@PetroHead 2 years......., I had a honda grom and traded in a CBR 500 to now the R6 .... I absolutely love the R6 but i am not confident in the u turns and slow turns. The radius and throttle response is entirely different from grom and CBR..... If u have any videos u have done or can recommend I would apprreciatde. I love ur videos and how u explain everything....
Good! I would have yelled at you if you would have said this was your first bike AND you’ve been riding three months lol.. Ok so the R6 will feel way more aggressive and less compliant than the street friendly CBR because first and foremost it’s a track weapon.. second, a street bike. That said.. it just takes practice and getting used to. In a parking lot, turn wheel all the way to the left, look as far left as your neck can turn and release the clutch and give it some gas, she will turn and go where you look. Careful about not dumping clutch or panick breaking cuz you will dump it. That’s all I can say here without typing a letter but I’ll make a video one of these days.

What if the steering is locked? How do you remove it then. Someone tried to steal my bike and drilled a hole on the ignition key. I just don't know how to get it unlocked so I can remove the part

The video shows the wrong sequence. You ALWAYS torque the top triple tree nut before the pinch bolts. When you torque the pinch bolts first it keeps the triple clamp from seating properly at the correct torque.
I’m convinced that the criminal who committed this heinous crime against a beautiful R6 should be serving 6 life sentences at ADX Florence...right next to Zacarias Moussaoui.💯🔒

new ignition came with a new set. For the tank, I use the original set.

You will probably need one of those kits that have both. Or you can just install one of those keyless ones.
