You're welcome Ginger :)) Thank you both for your reaction! I don't remember where did I drop that comment, lol. Are you going to react to the ballad as well? I'm in love with Simone's voice too. I know your favourite performance is "Stabat Mater Dolorosa" which is from 2013 when she was 28. But earlier, in her late teens and early twenties she sounded differently. Still somewhat "immature" though very unique, warm and ethereal. That's the voice I love the most. She spent a lot of time improving her technique over years, so her head voice is now closer to a real opera singer, but many fans still love that young immature voice. It was really special. I don't know any other metal singer who sounds like Simone did back then. Just 3 weeks ago they finally released a remastered video from their 2006 concert at Paradiso, Amsterdam. If you'd like to see and hear 21 years old Simone having fun on stage, check it out :) EPICA - Sensorium (Live @ Paradiso) (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO)
Despite its title, this song has nothing to do with the movie. Guitarist/vocalist Mark Jansen explained the track's meaning: "The song is dealing about us humans, being caught in a matrix (an illusion) because of our excessive thinking. We have lost control over our lives and accept the illusion as 'the one reality.' But if we manage to free ourselves from those shackles and become masters of our thoughts again, we can make a huge step forward in collective consciousness and will be able to look beyond the borders of our matrix." This song is from "The Holographic Principle" album, and it is glorious ❤🔥. NWSU/Ayreonaut/Epican 🤘😎🤘.
Hi Mike, Ginger, here is another great performance from the same show, this song has a middle eastern feel to it, a song about the plight of refugees around the world (this song is from the same album as Beyond the Matrix), EPICA - Dancing In A Hurricane - Live at the Zenith (OFFICIAL VIDEO) link posted below
@Kyle B 😆😃I was sure that someone says that (not intentionally from my side), what i meant was meaning to me and couple of my friends, sorry.. Yes i know few of their songs, my first Epica album was The Divine Conspiracy/The Classical Conspiracy. I think (2006) and have listened their music since...😃👋
Epica overload! Yesterday, I saw them live in Saarbrücken (Germany) including this song, and today I watched the live stream from their concert at Hellfest (still available at ruclips.net/video/UD9lGCrcH1g/видео.html ). I feel really lucky today!
Ginger will be putting Mike "Beyond the Matrix" in that thong ;). This is one of my favorite Epica songs. They were just in Latin America, so you guys missed them, but they are coming to the US (Atlanta and several other locations) with Sabaton in October. Should be an amazing show! I'm not sure if you watched it, but definitely check out Kingdom of Heaven Part 3 from their Omega Avlie virtual performance. It is fantastic.
I would like to try and add another vocalist to your list of favorites. The band is Seven Spires and the vocalist is Adrienne Cowan. For a first song reaction I would recommend Cabaret of Dreams. There is an official video.

Great reaction!, and I'll swallow any pill to anywhere as long as Epica is there :)
One of the best live band in the world.🤘👍
I think no pills needed😄, great reaction. This song so heavy... I fell in love for it at first time heard
It's not very heavy for Epica standards :) Do you know any other song from them?

@@ridge6313 OK then. Glad you're enjoying it :)
Hi Ginger, this is actually a fairly recent song from their second to last album, 'The Holographic Principle' released in 2016
"I wanted to jump up and down like Simone was, but then I'd knock all of the 'equipment' out."
Mike, you're a lucky man.

Epica never disappoints!
And which ballad were you talking about?
Another great song from this concert is "consign to Oblivion" where they create the "Wall of Epica".
😃
They reacted to it 9 months ago :)
@@cancelled_user sorry dude, I can barely remember 9 days ago 😆😆
Just so good 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Between Sharon Den Adel, Simone and Floor, it's hard to choose

Epic. (my apologies)

Why not "God of Debauchery" ?
Try not to jump :)
Great reaction, cheers from tha low Countries.
The only problem with this band is that they don't have enough guitars...lol
2 isn't enough? 🤔
Listen and react to Epica "Cry for the moon"
What’s up? No new Ozzy? Come on man….
