It shuts but she said its too hard to do on her carpet so she plans to leave it open, you can google workbox desk and theres videos of people opening/shutting them
Lauren Kriss - I note they've add more wheels to the new version, as it was difficult to move if heavy and on carpet.
I'm so craving one of these, but can't afford it. Although the price does seem steep, all those plastic containers and other tools are really expensive so I can see how it would add up.
But Kara! What is in those little drawers? Tell me!
Ohh I spotted the Fiskars scissors immediately!! Those are the queen scissors of all the scissors
Do you intend to leave the workbox open or closed up? I have considered this because I would love having everything in one place but I would need it to feel easy to close up in order to keep the kiddos out of my supplies!! Do you feel it would be easy to put back in progress art projects or set them up in a bin and close down the table? Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks for sharing!!!

Kara, how neat and efficient. It looks like you can find all your art supplies & tools. Also, I'm impressed that you are working with Michael Sull's "American Cursive Handwriting" course. I took a 2 day workshop from him a couple of years ago, and I learned so much. If he is ever nearby, you should meet him.

My grandmother bought one of these in December for all her cardmaking supplies. It's a beautiful piece of furniture and it holds so much stuff!

Love it! An idea for your ruler. You can try using a binder clip to hang the ruler. Clip on one end and use the binder clip up and use the "holes" to hang on a hook. Enjoy your cabinet.

OMG!! I've been looking at this for about as long as you have and I LOVE how organized this is in one little space!
You are so charming and your enthusiasm is contagious! This WorkBox is perfect for your work needs and I see why you love it so much. I too love storage and organization and have several smaller systems going. I love to see my stuff except my paper which I protect from the extreme humidity of the South. I don't compromise on the options for my pens and paintbrushes, have had custom systems built (one for upstairs, one for downstairs- I spend a lot of time in my kitchen!). The color of my space is most important for me (3 turquoise walls with one neutral wall,) which makes me happy! Congratulations and will watch for more on this and product reviews.

As for all your yarn - There is a company/group called Knots of Love that make hats & scarfs for people going through chemo & have a list of all the yarns they take. I am sure that there is a place like that if you wanted to donate some of that yarn.

Hi Kara - thank you for the tour. I've been eyeing this for a couple of years now. I have my craft supplies stored everywhere and can never find what I need when I want it. This is the 3rd time watching this video. I appears to be rather sturdy. Do the doors open/close easily?
Love the video! ^.^ Maybe if you found the time, you could over the course of each year knit or crochet a blanket for your charity of choice? It would use your yarn and give it a good home, as well as not overwhelm you with taking on another project.
This is pretty sweet! I don't have nearly enough craft and journaling supplies to fill a cabinet like this, but the organizer in me loves all the compartments. It's like a modern, huge secretary desk!
The end or beginning (which ever way you go) of the Appalachian trail is only about 15 min from me here in Maine!
Amazing storage/work unit. I currently have a really nice craft room in my home but since Retirement, I know I'll be downsizing drastically. I'm socking away $$ for this unit. I spent a small fortune on my craft room and now realize I could have gotten away with two of these instead. We live, we learn. I'm so happy for you.

Donate your yarns to ladies that make hats for cancer patients (like me). Cancer Treatment Centers of America, where I treated, had racks of hats free for people. ❤❤❤

This is absolutely brilliant and well worth the money having worked in the business of cabinet making the detail involved in all the shelving and pigeon holes Plus all the plastic bins. There's a lot of work put into it. I want one too.😄

Is the white ergo version the same as yours except color? And it doesn't come with light ?
Mine is the white beadboard so the color is the same, it just has a different design on the front panels. The crown accessory (which is an add-on) includes the light :)

I see you have your American Cursive Handwriting book in a Better Binder from Staples. What size is the Binder? Love the Teal color!
Kara! Question...I love the way you have the pens set up...especially since most of them should be stored flat. I was just wondering what you did with the cases the pens came in....I don't know if I could just toss them out!? 😳
Kara! I love that you are getting into water color! I'm learning myself, and invested in a Moleskine WC journal and I love it. The Gansai Tambi are great, as are the Windsor Newton. Paper towels are NOT weird to keep in there! I keep them close. You might want baby wipes, too. Best crafting tool ever. Thanks for sharing.

My mother bought this exact system for her crafts. For the price the cabinet is cheaply made. I personally wouldn't recommend it.

I know this video is 2 years old. I'm wondering how the cabinet has held up. Do you find any of the shelves bowing, or have you needed to replace acrylic drawers for cracking?
Kara, I would love to know what you plan to do with all your extra yarn you said you have. I have so much yarn in a big cedar chest that I just don't have a use for anymore. One thing I was planning to do was knit squares to donate for blankets or knit blankets to donate. But let me know! 😁

I am a card maker and art journaller as well as bullet journal, and other crafts and I have wondered if I could use one of these and I can see now that it is a wonderful idea especially if you are a blgger and youtuber, which I'm not. I think the appeal of this cabinet is the fact that it folds up. But I agree it is a lot of money to spend on storage.

How did you update the right door where the Velcro was?
I would eliminate the yarn you don't use and get all the pens you said you have in there.
