Great start, Craig! I found it very engaging to watch! That D15 part for the stock TT02 is to limit the steering and isn't needed in the Type-S because of the better C-hub steering that can turn tighter. Also, Tamiya don't mention it anywhere but they put the steel 19T pinions in the rally bodied kits and 22T alloy ones in the street car kits! Haha and then you get another sheet telling you to fit the 17T steel pinion! 😅 I used the 19T with my TTuned motor and it was fine. I did the same as you with the AW grease mate! Superb video my friend, well done! 😎👊👍
Glad I am making the same moves as the rally expert Mark!! I am going to have to mash these two together at the end but it is really interesting to see the differences. I can’t wait to put them head to head on the OR
Very cool series. I can already see the type S arms have more shock mounting holes than the standard. Curious to see how all the differences come into play when it's all done
Thanks dude! The mounting positions are amazing on the Type S. I think it will help with the performance when it comes to rally tweaking. The shocks will need rebuilding but you will see that in part 3 🙌🏻
Great video idea, Craig. Until recently, I wasn't even aware that there was a TT02 type S. Hopefully this Type S configuration will help get rid of some of the wacky slop in the front end. Looking forward to the next installment in this series.
Hey Fil, I have been eyeing up this and the R for some time but Mark and Dom convinced me to go for this one. Can’t wait to see it over the jump on the OR!
Thanks for watching Mauzy. There are quite a few differences between these two kits and I am keen to find out which dominates round the OR over the summer
Very interesting Craig. Yeah AW grease in the diffs if you want the back end to slide out for sure. Good stuff mate and hope you are having a good weekend 😁
Cheers Pete. The AW grease was an accident but I think that it might work in my favour for the rally car! Can’t wait to get both these chassises up on the OR and put a few packs through them to see which one it best
As if building a kit and trying to make a video isn't demanding enough..... why not try and film building two kits at once?!! You have your work cut out there Craig! Interesting comparison though, I'm particularly drawn towards seeing the rally spec one go together..... I have been pleasantly Suprised how well Mark's one turned out! Looking forward to seeing more fella. 👍 👍 👍
Cheers James, you know when you instantly regret something but know you need to see it through! The Type S is really nice and I wish I had used this chassis in the speed runs! We will but both chassises through their paces on the OR in the summer
@@theoagrc Oh I'm sure you will mate! And hopefully maybe one day get the opportunity to take them around the figure of eight..... Peter smith has layed down the gauntlet now with a new top speed!! 😉 👍 👍 👍
Brilliant idea for this series. Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Awesome start Craig. This'll gonna be a great series
Thanks Dirk. They are very different as the build goes on
Interesting, the subtle differences between the two! Nice start Craig!
👍😊
Thanks Jeremy. It is a job building two at once though 😂

Pulling double duty. You're a beast.
Yep Paul! You know that feeling when you take something on and then wonder if it was a good idea….

Thanks Mattias, there are more differences than I realised!!
Great start Craig!

Cheers Gab! It has been fun so far
Yes terrific! Ambitious too! I like seeing these differences ( similarities ) in one video series. Looking forward to the next episodes!

Nice comparison between the kits. Great work
Thanks Joe. That Type S kit has loads of neat adjustments to it
@@theoagrc wait until you get a tt02 srx. It had even more stuff
