IMO, the best move for the team is to stop thinking everyone in the big 3 should start and move away from this Draymond and Steph offense. Dray will only get worse as a defender over time and if he isn’t more aggressive offensively, he’s more of a detriment to Steph from this point forward. As a bench unit, Klay and dray would be exceptional but in the starting lineup like you say, Alch: The juice is no longer worth the squeeze.
Agreed but the caveat is that we got Draymond on a good deal last offseason and, like what I think you were saying, he has big and good minutes still left to play. He still is a defensive force and his defensive IQ will still always be there. I think he’s got 1 and a half more good years left.
@@9FINGA Draymond definitely helped out the defense when he returned last year from suspension but it’s over exaggerated. When he came back it coincided with Wiggins already starting to play better defense and Kuminga being a good defender during that stretch without dray. The numbers that we’re comparing Draymond to, are also the times where Kerr was actively playing our worst defenders on the court together during his suspension. Don’t forget he started looney and Dario in the front court together for several games. He also started games with 3-4 negative and/or short defenders and Trayce as your big. His decline on defense has already started and he’s liability on offense, so it’s best he come off the bench and we figure the defense out by committee. That’s also up to Kerr being smarter with his lineups tho.
I REALLY like Podz-Moody-Kuminga-Trayce as a young post-steph core. They seem potentially highly synergistic. I dont think Wiggins fits at all at this point, given that he hasnt been there mentally for the team for 2 years. Him and CP3 are only beneficial for their contracts at this point. Id be willing to resign Klay 3yr/65 as the top end, play out the youth, and either trade all our 1sts and the big contracts for a real star, or just ride it out through free agency. I think just about everything else would be too hasty and short sighted. And id rather take chances with Kuminga becoming an Allstar this next year than swing for Ingram and not improve much.
Moody is a more complete player and better defender than Kuminga. It feels like Kuminga’s skill set will always have us thinking he just needs to get a little better because his freak athleticism is so mesmerizing.
Wiggins, CP, Moody, Klay, Loony and Draymond can go, in that order, so long as we get some real talent and mental fortitude back. Steph, JK, Trayce, Podz, GPII are to me untouchable.
Moving Trayce is a disastrous move... Quick launch, durable, smart...just sayin.... If you wanna get ruthless: move Klay while you can still get something...Wiggs, we love him, but trade him for a Big... Otherwise, stand pat... 6:28
For me it comes down to this! Tired of the salary game ridding one max contract and bringing in another. Many suggested we get an unknown product or we still bring in a player too small that can win games but in playoff will see them out quick with what they lack most and that is size with no push back. Love Looney and GP2, Looney can convert back to his true position PF, he can do the same things Green does offensive and has done when Green rest. Since arriving Kerr has destroyed his offensive made him into something he isnt a center. He is still valuable can fill in a number of spots his loyality, his attitude, not being selfish and patiences to be ready is priceless. Gp2, defense knowledge is great but injuries in my estimation pulls strains come from being asked 6'2 tops to guard PF and Centers it goes beyond physics. He playing these position just shows the weakness of the team in the paint. With Pods he plays his true position where is the minutes if you still got Wiggin, Thompson, Moody. Editing: This point I would build by strength, add a Lopez if not Brooks the brother Robbin , to help Davis, instead of backcourt beef up the PF spot, with someone like Porter 6'10 from Bucks. In my opinion back court is easily replaced
We don’t have other guards to carry the legacy . Quinones and moody dont have the right iq be in the Kerr system which is really awful call on why Kerr drafting them believing they would keep up with the league that is above their defense . There’s the other failed ten years of drafts that have not panned out and the terrible wiseman choice and Poole. The fact we kept looney on the roster something questionable. If we were rebuilding since the new GM i think it is an accomplishment to barely make the play in however we got to do something to catch up with wings and it starts with drafting well the next 4 years
Hey Unc, loved the vid as always. Bit of a random one but what would your thoughts be on Kuminga working with Micheal Beasley in the off-season or even as a vet? I feel Micheal Beasley would really open up Kumingas attitude and mind towards the game.
What about Goga Bitadze? I heard that somewhere. In which case, maybe some kind of deal for Klay that nets us Bitadze and Jonathan Isaac (assuming he checks out on the physical)? We instantly get bigger that way. And the Magic would appreciate our vets to add to their young core. Some combination of Klay, Loon, CP3 or GP2 for those 2 maybe?
I get really worried about the warriors this offseason because I don't really see a move that makes us better. I'm always going to rock with the dubs but their doesn't really seem like a trade in our favor. Unless one of the young guys levels up, it might be another rough season
@@milton2755 yes I agree but it's a start. Curry needs help scoring wise and I don't trust Wiggins to average 15pts per Let alone 20. I think Dallas is a good blueprint for how the warriors should build. Steph is like Luka, we need a reliable scorer as the number 2 like Kyrie and then we need tall, athletic big men like Gafford and Lively. Trayce can be 1 of them but you need 1 more. Is that Draymond? Maybe but then Kuminga and Wiggins are just not as good of balance offensively compared to as Kyrie is to Luka. You need another bucket-getter to take some pressure off Steph
Kerr’s coaching style has been HUGE PROBLEM (except for miracle of 2022) the past 4-5 years. He has been more bad than good! Small ball is dead. Plays the old guys too many minutes EVERY NIGHT. Does not know how to stay with a hot hand (like Moody when he is rolling). Warriors need like 3 centers- not one that’s 6’9”- even though I like Trayce. Why can’t Kerr bend his coaching style to include CENTERS?! Draymond is Too Old to play the 5
Personally I think Dejounte is the perfect fit. Get him and some more shooting between minimum guys, and for a big it would be nice to get a spacing big like a Brook Lopez, Jonas Valanciunas, etc
I think what this team needs is to drop some of the dead weight and age (CP3 and Wiggs), start playing the young guns more (Trayce, Mood, Podz), and run more actions for Kuminga. For trades/free agents, I think we need another BIG as a defender, maybe another 2 way wing (doesn't everyone?), but more realistically, 1 more offense initiator/shot creator. CP3 was supposed to be that, but its clear he's too over the hill to fullfill that need for us. If we can do that, and Kuminga continues to develop, and we start weaning ourselves off relying on the BIG 3, we can move forward in a positive direction.
Paul George pops into my head, but I haven't the faintest idea of his fit or the circumstances that would be needed to get him. I do think we need to look at what we've learned from this year's playoffs. In many cases, teams had to go with a different lineup due to injuries. so we would have to include that in our thinking(e.g. our second unit). I vote for a 3rd unit for defense, which allows our G league players to learn defense and have a chance at the bigs. In addition, since the NBA changes so quickly (e.g. Warriors, Nuggets, etc.), we are going to have to look at Victor and the resulting changes in teams in order to deal with him. We also have young teams getting better(e.g. OKC, Houston, etc.). Wiggins backed off from his defense a bit after the fake foul calls on him against the Lakers in last year's playoffs. No way Kuminga in the Dejounte Murray trade. Hopefully, our rookies are working on developing their game(e.g. TJD on short shots, to give him an alternative to lob/dunks, etc.). We hope Kuminga and Moody continue their development. Gui looks like he needs to develop his defense(e.g. where he should be on defense, etc.)..Chris Paul is probably the best player in the NBA to lead our second team. Klay appears better suited for our second team(i.e. he feels less pressure, or a different type of pressure, which appears to suit him.). I do think we shouldn't wear out Klay on defense. It's up to our ownership, coaches, and GM to decide things, and considering how well they've done in the past, we can expect a well-thought-out decision on things.
I would very much like norman powell, he's poole-like player but solid as alc said and I'm afraid we are gonna lack in the backcourt without klay, do y'all know what it would take?
I’m contend to just watch this core 3 bow out until they retire. A lot of respect for them. Never understood why they went all out trading draft picks to be proven players. Don’t think Lacob knows what he wants at this stage.
We need buddy heild from Philly, I liked him on the Pacers with Malcolm brogden and Haliburton..., Hield has a high 3pt avg for Wiggins . If the dubs have to trade Klay to Orlando, if we could , get in return the Orlando starting CNTR .
all things in play but for their contracts (and minutes) lean toward keeping trace and moody and pods, and offering up wiggins and klay. some fresh energy, in the right direction, is prudent. can’t just run it back, need substantive moves 🏀
There’s only one on this list who would have me optimistic. Dejounte mf Murray. I totally agree. I’m tired of the player who we will question whether they really want to hoop or not. We know them Seattle boys love to hoop and they’re dogs. I went to the Atlanta v Dallas game in January last season. Trey suffered an injury early and didn’t return. I saw Dejounte go toe to toe with Luka in a game that went to the wire. Dejounte and Luka put up 30 with Murray getting the W on his back. It was the barrage of clutch buckets in the 4th by Murray. He is a dog and doesn’t back down from anyone. However I’d love him paired with JK as a teammate in the post Steph years.
i feel like if we trade any of the young core 4 they’re all gonna blossom nd b smt we couldnt see in the present i dont think i can say the say for some of these older guys alr on bigger contracts
I just figured out(i.e. May 15th) why Steve would substitute maybe 3 players at a time this last season. Have you? This is not meant as an insult, but maybe an insight.
I was pretty loud on Twitter when Isaiah Joe was waived by the Sixers needing Bob to sign the guy. Smh. Also if the front office decides to buy a frp, I need them to closely look at Ryan Dunn
0 seconds ago LM for 45 mill keep him! Kumminga don’t even have say his name! Moody to me has great upside D, smooth jumper. Better than most $15 mill players out there… Still young we do not know how good he is! Not given up our future for journey men!
It isn't going to happen, but a rebuild is the best option. No trade the warriors can feasibly make will be enough to get past the top teams in the West. Plus, any of these middle tier trades will just end up sacrificing young players and draft picks for a first/second round playoff exit. If Steph co-signs, a deal with Miami to trade him for salary filler (Rozier+Herro), Jaquez, Jovic, and 2 firsts makes sense for both teams.
It could have been true a few years ago with Lacob said, "the warriors organization is light years ahead.." of everyone else. Guess what? Everyone, and i mean virtually everybody has caught up. Every team is long, tall, athletic, defends and shoots the three! Now, every team is AHEAD of the warriors, who are short, slow, can't defend, and outside of one or two people, can't shoot the three! Look at all the contending teams, they can got 6-7 deep with three point shooters. I guess Detroit is still lost in space =P
@@AthleticAlchemy I agree, I am certainly amenable to the idea of saying Good-Bye to Steph, but not sure that makes $ense for the organization that still wants to sell tickets. Though Steph should still have some pretty high value. Add whatever haul you could get from him, get rid of all the old guys, and put that all around TJD, Podz, Moody and JK, and I promise you, that can't be much worse than losing 1 playin game, and the future would be brighter.
I don't like Ingram's mental, and this might be unfair, but I've not liked him since the Chris Paul / Rondo spitting incident when he came flying in to the fight from behind with a haymaker. That kinda shit is super dangerous and dirty and I didn't like to see it. I think it topped almost anything Draymond ever did in terms of being dangerous. So yeah, not a fan.
If they could sign Garuba and Quinones, can't they sign someone 6-9 and above at their spots? They have been relying on their rookie center who's paid less than 2 mil anyways.
I would never trade JK, PODS or Tracye. I'd love to see the Warriors trade Wiggins (even w/Looney) for Jarrett Allen and maybe a LaVert or another Cleveland player that shows promise. Allen with Trayce backing him up would solve a lot of what the Warriors need in the post.
Either by choice or by necessity we are bound to take a Wiggins type player. Undervalued/having a bad season/character problems/large contract/whatever and hope that the San Fran air will do them good. The management has shown that they are reluctant to (over)pay in draft pics or players because of fear or whatever. That leaves you with the Lavine guys that you can get for 20c/$. The free agent KD-caliber is not out there. Unless some kind of PG/KD star comes out with a "trade me to GS" request that will force the front office to pay, our best bet is some Kyrie-like player where Dallas bought at the absolute minimum of his value. Whatever the trade, IMO, the team needs multiple moves. No single player is going to solve all our issues.
Love the idea of Brandon Ingram however we will still need a big man Jared Allen if we can pick up these three without giving up Jonathan kaminga, Pozz and Moses Mooney along side with Stephen Wardell Curry even if we let let go of Draymond Green and Klay Thompson just to get pics and free up cap space we will be way ahead to pick up bigs with the free up cap space. I would use Wiggins, Looney Draymond Green and Klay Thompson to get what we need
I dont understand why the warriors, and everybody are not talking about malik monk. He is a free agent, and a young player, and a really great scorer, he is the perfect fit for the warriors, coming off the bench, monk salary was less than 10 millions, the warriors could get him, with at least 15 millions per year. Then you have a guy like Deandre Jordan, also a free agent, and jordan salary its around 2 millions. You could say that he is washed, but i don't think so, he still could play, but he would not get minutes, playing as a back up center, with jokic playing. There was a game this season that jokic don't play, deandre was the starting center, and he score 21 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assist 1 block and 2 steals and Denver win the game. If he gets a few games like that with the warriors, with a 2 million salary that would be a big bonus. There is also andre drummond, that play well this season, you have javale mcgee, that knows warriors system and Dwight Howard. All those players could be a good back up center for TJD. And teach him. With Malik Monk, and a great veteran center, i am pretty sure the warriors are going to be contenders. Dallas probably are going to the NBA finals, and what jason kidd do? He always play a big. And that has work for him. Half of the time he play gafford as center and the other half he play lively. And what do Minnesota? They play 2 bigs at the same time. If you don't play bigs in todays nba you are cooked.
I'm not trading any of our six youngsters for some expensive player who may or may not fit the Warrior system and culture. You didn't mention Lester and Gui, both with two years in the Warriors system. Let's move on from CP3 and Klay. Then pick up some vet mins and maybe a MLE. I'm out, y'all. Love your videos.
The more I look at this situation, the more certain I am that there isn’t anything they can do to go back to championship contention. We’re not a few pieces away, we are fundamentally flawed. This ain’t 2016-2018.
Imo moody is the dude to give up. Him Wiggins and GP2 could be packaged with the hawks second round picks and dumped to detroit for picks back. You could then wave CP3 . And send looney to the thunder for a late first this year and go from there in the off season
Dejounte would be the only player on this list that I can see putting us back into contenders. Need a more efficient shot creator to take load off from Curry that isn’t a defensive liability. Wiggins and Klay too streaky to fulfill that role anymore.
it's easy to forget that the warriors were on of the best teams in the league in the second half despite the issues with kerr's lineups...im more inclined to trust the young guys and not completely blow up the roster.
i cant lie wiggins started to play like himself at the end of the year maybe he needed a mental break with us not makin the playoffs so he has plenty of time w the fam keep wiggins and get 2 bigs, gp2 injury prone too .
Eh I would give up Kuminga and Moody, I just think that Kuminga is just not a fit for Kerrs system. TJD and Podz had big impact their rookie years, and I think it’s because they’re more cerebral type of players while with Kuminga you have a guy who’s game is based more on his athletic gifts.
I'll save Dunleavy the trouble. Besides Curry, nobody wants anything from the Warriors with the exception of Kuminga . Moody isn''t on the radar and GP2 has been exposed since he's fragile as glass.
I like the idea of acquiring a player to fix things but to me it's all about how we move on from what's holding us back. According to advanced analytics Klay is in the 30th percentile for defense. He sucks. And his effort sucks. Some games his shooting is bad enough to lose the game yet he plays 30 minutes a game! Gotta move on. Same with Wiggins and Looney. I said it all last season and it stands.
I've said it before and ill say it again...warriors don't need any major changes going into next season, rather young player's development and coaching decisions to nurture young guns. TRADE Chris Paul get a BIG with his 31 mil contract. Moody, Kuminga, Podz, Trayce, Lester, Santos are in development and gonna step up next season and the veterans if they want another ring they need to be verbal in what they want the young players role need to be and how they want them to step up. And the veterans needs to develop the youngins for the future of the organization.
U brought up Jarrett Allens only 4 playoff games not enough sample size for me and Looney had to play with those broke ribs because he didn't show the warriors enough his first 4 years so he had to show toughness and he will sacrifice his body for warriors allen isn't soft just because he didn't play with bad ribs

@@9FINGA Anyone 6-9 and above who is not slow and can jump unlike Looney and Saric.
Gp2 is overvalued since not adding offensively. Those lobs cause injuries
Who ever they pick it needs to be leading with defense first.
Moving Trayce is a disastrous move...
Quick launch, durable, smart...just sayin....
If you wanna get ruthless: move Klay while you can still get something...Wiggs, we love him, but trade him for a Big...
Otherwise, stand pat...

Because of the lengthy wings and skilled bigs in the game. I will give up podz.
Funny how the Mavs got 3 new more "Size" players...totally make a huge difference to their defense and scoring inside......Warriors LEARN!
I get really worried about the warriors this offseason because I don't really see a move that makes us better. I'm always going to rock with the dubs but their doesn't really seem like a trade in our favor. Unless one of the young guys levels up, it might be another rough season
There’s several of decent moves for us they just don’t want to get rid of the core
Gp2 is done 2yrs str8 not healthy
I agree cant look at him as part of the future
We need someone to space the floor with curry, thats why the 2022 team was good, we had pool klay and curry, and even opj spacing the floor
What about the magic big goga bitzade
not a bad name.. maybe turn into a Hartenstein type steal
I'm still mad we didn't get Naz Reid this past season
Steph needs another guaranteed 20 plus a night scorer give me Ingram I'll work with that at this point
Ingram doesn't move the needle
@@milton2755 yes I agree but it's a start. Curry needs help scoring wise and I don't trust Wiggins to average 15pts per Let alone 20. JK possibly could but who knows with Steve Kerr coaching if he even plays enough. Without a second primary score we ain't going nowhere!! too much is being put on Curry at this point in his career
@@gregbr420 many players have seasons where they only play a few games due to injuries As long as it's not a career-ending injury which it is not. I'm cool with it. We need help! 😅 What you got in mind?
@@milton2755 Nobody knows if a player will move the needle for a team. No one was saying Wiggins would move the needle but he did then his dad got sick. No one said Porter would move the needle but he did. No one said GP2 would but he also did.
My point, you guys are too dumb to know who’s really going to move the needle for a team.
brother alc i would take allen for wiggins in a heartbeat. solves a ton of problems with our defense while opening up the logjam at SF for JK & MM to step up into fulltime roles. The problem for me is I think the Cavs will laugh us out of the building if we propose that trade
Luka is in his prime. Steph is not. That blueprint wouldn't work.
We had chance to get siacam, we had chance to go for sabonas. And kerr were like: no they are not guards, cant fit em in my team😂
Sabonis is phony.
Enjoyed the video 👌🏼
Some other interesting names:
Lavine
Olynyk
J. Isaac
"I'm tired of those players." makes the case for keeping Moody.
We need size and girth
Girth? Maybe. Length for sure. We need quicks too
Also we don't shoot well either. But mostly the team needs to get tall. Ws are short.
Hey unc how u feel about Wiggins for Bobby Portis since it’s seem Bobby Portis services isn’t needed since dame got there
in this date and time, teams need 3 legit 20+ scorers, 2-3 bigs, and of course a winning culture.
GMs around the NBA have said Wiggins has little to no trade value. Is Wiggins an upgrade over Ingram....No
And you can document this or just speculate.Ingram came up small in playoffs.
all things in play but for their contracts (and minutes) lean toward keeping trace and moody and pods, and offering up wiggins and klay. some fresh energy, in the right direction, is prudent. can’t just run it back, need substantive moves 🏀
agreed
Great show!
Thanks
Kuminga is already better than these players.
I feel like get a solid big man and get a solid second option that can create his own shots
NBA DRAFT ……WHO WILL FIT with the WARRIORS 👀?
TJD was ONE vote away from being on the all-rookie second team. Got beat out by GG Jackson II.
i feel like if we trade any of the young core 4 they’re all gonna blossom nd b smt we couldnt see in the present i dont think i can say the say for some of these older guys alr on bigger contracts
The Dorture chamber is a dope nickname.
I just figured out(i.e. May 15th) why Steve would substitute maybe 3 players at a time this last season. Have you? This is not meant as an insult, but maybe an insight.
There’s two untouchable young guys: Kuminga and Trayce
Kuminga & moody
I was pretty loud on Twitter when Isaiah Joe was waived by the Sixers needing Bob to sign the guy. Smh.
Also if the front office decides to buy a frp, I need them to closely look at Ryan Dunn

LM for 45 mill keep him! Kumminga don’t even have say his name! Moody to me has great upside D, smooth jumper. Better than most $15 mill players out there… Still young we do not know how good he is!
Not given up our future for journey men!
Thanks Unc. spot on this time.
Steph is never leaving bro. Why would you want that?!? He's the Tim Duncan of this Era, he should retire a warrior.
Of all the mentioned potential players the Dubs could get, Isaiah Joe is the only one I would want on the roster.
I could back Dejounte and Jarrett as long as we keep Kuminga and Klay will accept $20M or less/year to come off the bench.
I think Klay is heading down quick. He's a spot up shooter and may no longer be a deadly one at that.
Nah, the warriors only need a player under 6'6 to play center so we can have a 5 man guards on the floor at the same time.
Reading that's article, none of those options are even likely. We gonna roll it back next year.
I guess Detroit is still lost in space =P
the light years move would be trading Steph in a 1 move rebuild
@@AthleticAlchemy I agree, I am certainly amenable to the idea of saying Good-Bye to Steph, but not sure that makes $ense for the organization that still wants to sell tickets. Though Steph should still have some pretty high value. Add whatever haul you could get from him, get rid of all the old guys, and put that all around TJD, Podz, Moody and JK, and I promise you, that can't be much worse than losing 1 playin game, and the future would be brighter.
Yo Alc would you approve this trade…
Denver gets Klay Thompson and Brandon Podiemski
Warriors get Michael Porter Jr
"All Charmin Team"
😂😂😂
I don't like Ingram's mental, and this might be unfair, but I've not liked him since the Chris Paul / Rondo spitting incident when he came flying in to the fight from behind with a haymaker. That kinda shit is super dangerous and dirty and I didn't like to see it. I think it topped almost anything Draymond ever did in terms of being dangerous. So yeah, not a fan.
Punting for a lottery pick is the best option.
I think the goal should be a consistent playoff team
Monk will get paid more than Klay this offseason but I like the idea of monk over trading for Murray and Ingram
DubbNation is cooked. BUMLEAVY Jr and Steve Kerr are leading the way to the nba lottery. It was a great run.
I love Bruce Brown, we need also a real 2nd option, can we land PG13 or Demar Derozen ? although Markenin would be the best.
Absolutely not PG13, no , no and no
@leonardo_da_g9168 with GS i am sure he will do something big
We could’ve and should’ve got Lauri way back but everyone was calling him soft
Dejounte's defense fell off though. That's pretty much my concern with him.
it's easy to forget that the warriors were on of the best teams in the league in the second half despite the issues with kerr's lineups...im more inclined to trust the young guys and not completely blow up the roster.
How can I call in?
i cant lie wiggins started to play like himself at the end of the year maybe he needed a mental break with us not makin the playoffs so he has plenty of time w the fam keep wiggins and get 2 bigs, gp2 injury prone too .
He was recovering from the injury he received last playoffs when LeBron broke the cartilage in his ribs
@@jamespurcell4642 dam didn’t know
Eh I would give up Kuminga and Moody, I just think that Kuminga is just not a fit for Kerrs system. TJD and Podz had big impact their rookie years, and I think it’s because they’re more cerebral type of players while with Kuminga you have a guy who’s game is based more on his athletic gifts.
I hear you.. but listening to Kerr he has all but said he is done after these 2 years
I'll save Dunleavy the trouble. Besides Curry, nobody wants anything from the Warriors with the exception of Kuminga . Moody isn''t on the radar and GP2 has been exposed since he's fragile as glass.
I can guarantee that you are wrong.
You'd be surprised what 2 or 3 first round draft picks can get you.
What do you think about going after a guy like Gary Trent Jr ?
he would be a good Klay replacement because he is a movement shooter, you can runs all the same sets
Gp2 and looney would be good for Lopez.
Most teams in the west have at least five guys above 6-9. Warriors have three, but two are slow and can't get off the ground.
I have been saying jaylen smith but he never gets playing time. He looked good on the suns but got traded and then the pacers kept trading for his position. He is a low risk high reward player.
Splash brpthers ???
Lori is perfect been saying it for 3 yrs now
