      I agree with this. I run a compressor in my clean channel to help even it out but without a compressor it is very noticeable.

    So far, it's stood the test of time. I was concerned putting my JP6 BFR in C-standard from the crunchlab being more muddy then his other dimarzio's. But if you have a good amp and setting, the guitar can bring you back to the early 2000's Petrucci sound. Was so impressed I had to do a review with it.

To be completely honnest I'm not a huge fan of your rythm magnetic tone here (the crunch lab had way more low end in my memories) but the cleans and piezo combined are out of this world. And yeah tone is very subjective. When double tracked with bass you get a much bigger sound for sure. I always low pass 60-80Hz to prevent any mud and flub from getting through!

      @@ZackSeifMusic I bought my JP100D used (perfect condition) at Guitar Center out of impulse about a year and a half ago or so. Boy is it fantastic. Tuning stability is PHENOMENALLY better than I would've expected for the $600 I spent. Mine can take quite a bit of abuse before being much out of tune. I've changed the tone pot out with a push/push for coil split for even more versatility. I've purchased numerous other guitars and kept some, but sold many from PRS, Schecter, Ibanez, Epiphone, and more... and I can tell you if I had to get rid of all my guitars except for one, I'd be stuck between the JP100D or my Majesty 6 and 8 string.
      I think there's a reason they don't make the JP100D anymore, and it really sucks. They were just that good.

    I've been lucky enough to try top tier PRS and Parker but i've never traded my JP6 since 2008. Perfect electronic but the real deal is the neck. It's even more comfortable (to me) than the brands i've named.
    Also have a JPXI-7 and bought, 3 years ago, a Cutlass Jason Richardson 7 that i even feel better with. And just because i'm insane i just received a JP15. Same feeling with the crazy neck. The illuminator pickups seems more precise to me. I've been struggling between JP15 and Majesty but finally chose the 1st one because i prefer natural finish when it comes to the back of the neck (feels quicker to me and must be the main reason i didn't have such a crush with the JPXI-7).
    To put it quick MM guitars are god tier (sure not cheap though...) and i'd be curious to try the Luke and Kaizen models.

    💚I got the identical JP6 as yours one year before, are you sure the bridge PU is not a D sonic instead of a crunch lab? mine is a D sonic. Ours in the years, somewhat overlap the d-sonic BFR Crunch lab swap. I wasn’t even aware that ours had a crunch labs swap, is it even true? Any info? The JP 15 on the website states it’s a crunch lab I believe but since ours are the original I would assume it’s a D sonic.
    Edit. What I explained about the pick ups is sort of the same story with stainless steel frets. are yours stainless steel? because mine is in the shop right now, and it is been brought to my attention that mine is not stainless steel.

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  5 месяцев назад

      Hey there! I was able to identify the pick ups because I took them out of the guitar when I got them and the numbers match according to DiMarzio Also I know that mine has stainless steel frets, because there was absolutely zero wear on them when I got it. If they had nickels, I would've absolutely seen some signs of wear considering the guitar was thirdhand by the time I got it, plus it was around a decade old.

    HI Zack! Im trying to decide whether to buy JP6 (used 1500€) or a new PRS Se Custom 24 08 (899€). Do you have any advice which do you think is better and why?
    Supposedly the JP6 should be better because of higher price. But ive heard and read so well about the PRS 24 08 and that your getting a guitar that is worth a much higher price than their asking for. So they seam to me to be in the same league! Since you have both Can you offer any help? Thanks in Adavance

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  2 года назад

      Of course! So I own an American Custom 24-08 (see my latest video!) and of course the JP6.
      The JP6 is a bolt on, the CU24 is a set neck. The CU is easier to play on the highest frets. JP has lower action. JP may or may not have the acoustic piezo.
      PRS has the coil tapping for each pick up. This makes it more versatile. The JP pickups are pretty hot so they aren’t so good for lighter styles of music.
      I think they’re both fantastic guitars and both will help you achieve great results musically. I enjoy both guitars a lot. I think the PRS is the better buy, but the JP6 will play a little bit better.
      Either guitar will be a great buy. All depends on what you’re looking for in a guitar and what you’ll use it for.
