  • This video provides helpful step-by- step instructions on removing the front bumper cover and headlamp assembly on a 2010 Toyota Corolla. Model years 2009 to 2013 may be quite similar. The side marker and turn signal/parking bulbs are then replaced.

    This was very helpful to identify all the fasteners attaching the front cowl. The 2009 has an additional panel fastener top dead center in front of the hood latch. Also, the OEM headlight assembly did not include the metal clip required for the side attachment bolt. I transferred from old to new, but only after securing the other two screws and found this third screw was not grabbing.

    Excellent video. About that screw at 3:25, I used an electric drill with a philips adapter. The quick torque motion in reverse and adequate downward pressure did the work very well. No way on mine I could have used a screwdriver without stripping the head.

    I have a 2013 and wish I knew the part numbers of all the fasteners. I'm missing one of the top ones, the threaded bolt with 10mm socket head. I have a diagram that shows the fasteners but it seems to be missing some fasteners or it's incorrect.

    I thought I was missing a splash shield underneath my 2010 Corolla LE. Yours does not appear to have one either. Do you have a lot of room in between the radiator and front grille and have with no center splash shield underneath?

    • @TheOriginalMechanic
      @TheOriginalMechanic  5 лет назад +2

      Yes there is a lot of room, like almost a foot maybe. I didn't realize I was missing that splash shield.

    The screw at 3:25 today is extremely tight for me. I’ve used PB Blaster, sawed it down to a flat head and it still won’t turn. Is there a nut under that screw?

    • @TheOriginalMechanic
      @TheOriginalMechanic  6 лет назад

      I had trouble with that one too. There is no nut. Sounds like you're doing all you can. You can't really use heat by that plastic. Good luck with it.

    Those screws would be useless for people, like me who has a quick release Fastener, for lowered cars. Its faster too because you just undo, the ties and the Front bumper cover, comes right off in seconds, that's a lot of different screws, to remember which one goes where I like to keep the screws, in a certain order that way when I'm putting them back on I know where they go saves more time, and less hassle, Toyota made it so difficult, to work on their cars, when I work on my Accord, everything is so simple and easy

    • @TheOriginalMechanic
      @TheOriginalMechanic  3 года назад

      It's possible from model to model to have variations on little things like this. The important consideration is "does the cover come off?"
