I tried to keep this video concise and focused, but something that's been on my mind since making it is some advice on learning Godot based on this experience: start by reading Godot's documentation and do the Dodge the Creeps demo. Then watch some tutorials to see how people work and use the editor, but don't worry about following along yet! Just let it absorb. Then follow along with some tutorials and search online to better understand topics you don't quite get yet. Then try to make very small games on your own and make a bunch of them. Your goal is to learn the editor, the nodes, GDScript, and how to put the pieces together to build your game. Make games like Pong, an infinite runner, a basic shoot 'em up. Don't worry about making anything good yet! If you just picked up a guitar, no one would expect you to make anything that sounds good for months. Be patient and persistent! And most of all, be kind to yourself. Game dev is challenging but so fun.

I am flabberghasted to see you did all of this in 24 hours. I'm a beginner and godot is fast for me but not THAT fast. That's crazy. What's your secret? does having a background in coding help a lot? I dont have any background in coding. It would take me 24 hours to make even just a couple of these.

Yeah, I think having spent 15 years coding for my day job and doing a bunch of game dev in other engines and libraries helps a bunch. After you know the basics of what you want to do with a game, it's just a matter of figuring out the pieces of the puzzle for a given engine. Also, Godot's quite quick to just piece things together! The quickest engine in that regard I've found.
