The Emperor's new grove have a spin off, and a TV series, but the TV series didn't feel like it was truly Kuzco, and the plot felt forced. And the newer movies we get today don't really hold up to the comedy that the older movies did. So yeah, it was and still is the funniest movie.
I know right! Everything related to this movie was great. The Emperor's New Groove, Kronk's New Groove, and even the show. The Emperor's New School was my favorite show as a kid. Between Principle Ysma and how Cusco referred to his crush as "hottie-hot hottie" there was no beating that show. Ah DisToons, how we miss you..

Sometimes I wish we would've gotten to see the more serious and artsy "Kingdom of the Sun". Because despite this being a very funny movie and all, it'd been more interesting to see a more serious approach to the Inca Empire by Disney.
Agree, but honestly I think that in this way it's more refreshing. We've already had a lot of Disney movies with love stories and dark magic villains powers, this is the only case where they've managed to make a main character who's a protagonist, hero, villain and animal comical sidekick all together. (If you're interested about Inca-Aztech darker and more serious stuff in cartoon movies, I highly reccomand you The Road To Eldorado, also made in 2000.)
"He's the rudest dude in the nation, He's the spoiled-est brat in creation, He's a loser and a zero, may it be And a perfect world we would see If he ever learned to be To rule with wisdom, but it's not meant to be."
Oh my god! That would be hysterical! I can already visualize it. Sora and company trying to help Kuzco and Pacha return Kuzco back to his palace to change him back to normal. As for how Kuzco would fight, I would assume with kicking, headbutting, and spitting. The boss fight with Yzma would be two parts. First part is against her and Kronk in which Yzma tosses explosives and potions that slow you down/freeze you/or confuse you (reversing controls) while Kronk runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to tackle you, tripping into you, and wildly swinging the knife Yzma gives him later on in the movie while he cowardly covers his eyes. The second and final part is Yzma in some sort of large darkness-powered machine.
"There are kings and petty tyrants Who are so lacking in refinements They'd be better suited swinging from the trees" It took me years to understand that these lyrics meant and I'm here for it hahaha
If Disney insists on cranking out these live action/CG remakes, I'd really like to see them revisit this movie. Kuzco's character and dialogue hold a potential treasure trove of memes for the social media era. More to the point, however, the story of a privileged person falling from their extravagant life and learning the importance of humility and compassion is a story that really needs to be told more often right now.
If people still confused on his culture (from some of the comments).. he is from the Incan empire so he's Peruvian. The empire extended to other countries since it was the largest empire of South America, But is originally from Peru. Their 'capital' being Cuzco (Where they took the name for Kuzco)
Small detail, his crown and the palace look more like part of the chimu empire... but the chimu empire was conquered and absorbed by the inca empire so it kind of has sense they have some chimu things.
@@mewsingsbynatk No Meso means "middle" and Mesoamerica refers to the central or "middle" american civilizations. So Aztec and Maya yes, but not Inca/Peru where this move takes place
A dude is singing with a microphone, which weren't invented until centuries later, there were also no huge ocean ships for the Incas, but it's in the scene anyway. It's a goddamn comedy movie by DISNEY for KIDS. If you want to see a more historically accurate, go watch a documentary.
This movie went through sooooo many changes in the development and production stages. Amazing how they started and finished the entire film in a year and a half.
See the funniest part of this scene for me is the thought of these guards in guard school working all day to be warriors masters of weapons and molding their bodies to be physical fit and someone in the middle of that going "look your all going to have to learn the finer points of dancing"

NightmareTroubador I dunno, I love this film to bits but I really would've liked to see Disney take a more serious approach to Inca culture. Not that I'm bitter, just that I'm a big fan of Pre-Columbian cultures and that'd be nice to see.
I honestly wish we could have got both somehow. Kingdom of the Sun sounds like it could have been great, and Snuff Out the Light is a fantastic villain song, but this is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and I love it.
This was one of those movies I remember watching in class with the tv on the rolling cart and the whole class erupting in laughter at all the funny parts. Mannn good times.

To rule with wisdom, but it's not meant to be."
Yzma should have sung that.
XD oh wow
Who were you singing about? Trump?
Talking about Hillary, I see. Or Bernie. Either one.
@@Pikolow1 No Trump
2:06 Never throw off the emperor's groove
Erika G9nto yep

Batman: WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!?

Alex Paulino tyf

I still have a crush on Kuzco...and I'm 17
back. the. f. off. Kuzco. is mine.
inuTRASHa damn it, same
I mean...
Kuzco is 17 in the movie, so...
Ooh we got some jelousy going on here
I love kuzco
This should be a song on that competition show Disney’s Dancing With the Stars.
One of the greatest opening's of all time
Emperor's New Groove World for KH3
DeadmanInc336 that sounds amazing. :D
DeadmanInc336 Ha Ha I would like to see something like that. :) Maybe toss in a Powerwild Heartless or two.
OMG that would be sooooo cool!!! I can see Sora and Donald getting so annoyed with Kuzco while Goofy is just smiling!
dude, that would be awesome!!
Worst part is that I'm Irish and kuzco is an ancient Mayan and he can river dance better than me
*Incan
He's an Incan
I'm a descendent of a Incan King
The Dippin American inca not Mayan
Dahahaha! XD He's just a cartoon. Don't worry
"No touchy" is still my favorite line to use for unexpected hugs.
I literally memorized the whole movie and recite the dialogue. Thats how much I love it!
Jeez, this, the lion king, and Hercules had some great openings.
Theme song guy........ everyone needs one.
God, this movie had an awesome soundtrack.
Better than most of Disney's other soundtracks.
There's only one Disney llama that matters... ME!!
Pacifica Northwest Ha! True. Kuzco is so 2000.
Red Comet He's still better!
Kuzco: Oh, really?
"There are kings and petty tyrants
Who are so lacking in refinements
They'd be better suited swinging from the trees"
It took me years to understand that these lyrics meant and I'm here for it hahaha
1:27 I love his smug expression haha
If Disney insists on cranking out these live action/CG remakes, I'd really like to see them revisit this movie. Kuzco's character and dialogue hold a potential treasure trove of memes for the social media era.
More to the point, however, the story of a privileged person falling from their extravagant life and learning the importance of humility and compassion is a story that really needs to be told more often right now.
Problem is that the people who need to learn that lesson are the ones who are producing the movies nowadays.
@jellybean547 true.
haha Kuzco- "Butler, Chef, Theme song guy!
IS HE HIP OR WHAT ?!?!
I'll take "or what"
To his defense, Kuzco did more work for his kingdom in the opening song than I've seen any other Disney Royal do.
True, I never that.. thx
That's true, I actually never noticed that. Thanks for pointing that out.
WHAAAAT'S HIS NAAAME??!!
Scorponizer Kuzco.
Fabian Hale No shit sherlock
jerp d I was being funny.
And I was being an ass
JOHN CENA!
G'OWH! You threw off my groove! (loved that part)
Sorry, but you threw off the Emperor's groove...
dragonwarriorz1 Sorry!!!!!
...You were saying?
Nabbit's RUclips *What's his name?*
*KUZCOOOOOOOOOOOO*
Red Comet yep ;)
If people still confused on his culture (from some of the comments).. he is from the Incan empire so he's Peruvian. The empire extended to other countries since it was the largest empire of South America, But is originally from Peru. Their 'capital' being Cuzco (Where they took the name for Kuzco)
That's true.
Small detail, his crown and the palace look more like part of the chimu empire... but the chimu empire was conquered and absorbed by the inca empire so it kind of has sense they have some chimu things.
Kuzco does have the perfect profile to represent his ethnicity. The nose, the jaw.
"Mesoamerican" history. Wow. Good geography there, Disney. Still better than The Road to El Dorado, though.
I'm pretty sure Mesoamerican refers to the ancient civilizations of the Americas, from Mexico and southward. These include Aztec, Inca, and Maya.
@@mewsingsbynatk No Meso means "middle" and Mesoamerica refers to the central or "middle" american civilizations. So Aztec and Maya yes, but not Inca/Peru where this move takes place
Inca history.
Peruvian history
A dude is singing with a microphone, which weren't invented until centuries later, there were also no huge ocean ships for the Incas, but it's in the scene anyway. It's a goddamn comedy movie by DISNEY for KIDS. If you want to see a more historically accurate, go watch a documentary.
This movie went through sooooo many changes in the development and production stages. Amazing how they started and finished the entire film in a year and a half.
You threw off my Groove!
I'm sorry, but you threw off the emperor's groove.
AlexAnythingIWant666 Sorry!!
AlexAnythingIWant666 sooooorrrryyyyyy
mc maniac You were saying?
All Access Gaming What's his name?! KUZCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Hey. want to see a perfect disney movie? watch this movie. Perfect in every line of drawing and story to be told
"HA BOOM BABY!"
Lol the movies from my childhood we're so good can still watch as an adult and not be bored
BEWARE OF THE GROOVE
See the funniest part of this scene for me is the thought of these guards in guard school working all day to be warriors masters of weapons and molding their bodies to be physical fit and someone in the middle of that going "look your all going to have to learn the finer points of dancing"
Wingzero5555 lol you’re right
Everything up to "theme song guy" is understandably normal.
This is such an underrated Disney movie
Brigitta Falcini ikr
Most. Hilarious. Movie. Ever.
Most not funny movie ever and i love this movie and I seen it when I was little and it's my favorite movie from my childhood and it's a good movie but not funny about this movie and it's still a good movie but not funny about this movie and do you agree with me about what I say right
I want to see a live action on this, but this scene alone shows how hard it would to mimic this movie XD
The disneyfied version of tony stark
forestcatkay14 more like Kanye West
Disney owns tony stark but you have point
I like Emperor New Groove! I watched every time on Saturdays mornings at 9 am!
Opening To The Emperor's New Groove 2000 VHS
So good so nostalgic w kuzko
W comment
So true
I'm so glad this movie diverged from it's original plan to give us this. It's hilariously brilliant.
What's his name?
Francis
Kuzco> Deadpool
+Carlos Fandiño Soto Every character in Emperor's New Groove > Deadpool
Not to be that guy but...the Incan Empire is in the Andes, not Mesoamerica. I forgive you, Tom Jones :)
