Originally Oogie was gonna eat Santa and when Jack defeats Oogie and rips him apart, Santa was released but it was snapped cause it was too dark apperantly :)

Oogie Boogie didn't ask for him to be Kidnapped as there is a so called "Boogie list" that he gives to Lock, Shock and Barrel to Kidnap his Victims it's even mentioned when they are singing "Kidnap Sandy claws" that Jack will beat them Black and green if they loose any pieces of him. So Jack technically Kidnapped him Lock shock and Barrel just did the Dirty work.

Its truly a challenge to design a villain for a movie where the protagonist is a long limbed skeleton. I think they nailed it.

To remember this is a stop motion picture. DAMN this is amazing, even for another decade I'd say it's my favorite movie from the stop motion era.

When I worked as a photographer for Disney years ago, we had a mat for people to stand on when they got their pictures taken. But people would be anxious about standing on it for reasons. I always would say “Don’t worry. It’s not a trapdoor. You’re not going to fall into Oogie Boogie’s lair. I made sure of that.” Usually got a laugh.
One time, I had a guest say “I like Oogie Boogie!” And I said “I do too…but his lair is creepy and I don’t know about you but I don’t want to end up as an ingredient in his snake and spider stew. I was so happy when Jack got me out of there. Oogie is a fantastic singer though.”
