  • It's nice to have some diverse programming on good old AM radio thanks to Italian Radio Relay Service... but I think they should take a little more care of their programme scheduling, so that they don't get cut in the middle!
That's what happened to Wavescan, a DX programme from Adventist World Radio and WRMI Radio Miami International, on June 27th, 2024. I think I found this airing of the programme close to the beginning as host Jeff White of WRMI was introducing Ray Robinson's weekly historic feature, this time about BFBS stations in Libya in 1950s. The broadcast was cut in the midst of the story, with not one but two canned IRRS IDs, to not one but two news bulletins at 21:00 UTC TOH: from Feature Story News, and from VOA. Then some pop music followed to transmitter shutdown - again abrupt - at 21:10 UTC.
The signal here in NE Poland was rather weak, but pulled up a bit by one of various noise reduction presets shipped with SDR#. The antenna used was a ~15x4.5m loop aiming NE/SW.
