I work in robotics manufacturing. All US robotics companies are just grifts for DoD funding. There was never any plan or intention to make a real product and manufacture it at scale. It is a startup grift, but at a national level.

Guys, I work on a mine site. There are trucks hauling 150 ton, 3 trailers, over 200 klms, totally driverless. Same with trains. They are now doing heavy long haul trains, driver less. Ten years from now, every new car will be driver less.

automated manufacturing makes sense in two contexts 1, perfectly precise application of material (like paint), 2, the product is designed with planned obsolescence, to guaranteed the automated production line will still be operating 20 years from now. this is an issue, because 80% of the world doesn't actually use planned obsolescence, only the united nations. just like 80% of the world isn't 35 trillion dollars in fiat debt like the UN. and even if you can implement any of these systems, nationalized systems work more efficiently than international systems, for the very obvious reason that there are fewer "moving parts". Under no circumstance will the western nations be capable of competing with mainland china. in manufacturing, and by extension, warfare.

If you know this person will reliably go this route every day, you can sell Starbucks an ad-package to help them capture this consumer’s attention. With ai advertising Starbucks can deliver the a truly personalized ad to this consumer every time. The ad can even become episodic. To retain the consumer with short ads that they look forward to and are never repeated.

Meanwhile, we have gas, diesel, EVs (starting to seem more like a scam propped up artificially for political reasons), but hydrogen is not the dominant car fuel anywhere in the world.

Our economy is just so fucked that it's *harder* now to buy and care for a mule, but humans could never have made it this far by that logic if you take it to its conclusion.

Guys, I work on a mine site. There are trucks hauling 150 ton, 3 trailers, over 200 klms, totally driverless. Same with trains. They are now doing heavy long haul trains, driver less. Ten years from now, every new car will be driver less.
Will never own or ride one of those. I would prefer getting a horse then.

Their selling point is the algorithm that allows for the re-balancing of the robot. That shits still pretty impressive.

like for example, yesterday i watched a video of a man building a metal drawer with nothing but a hammer, a few sheets of metal, and 2 metal dowels. The amount of time it would take an engineer to automate that; the humans will have already satisfied the entire market need of said design.
automated manufacturing makes sense in two contexts 1, perfectly precise application of material (like paint), 2, the product is designed with planned obsolescence, to guaranteed the automated production line will still be operating 20 years from now.
this is an issue, because 80% of the world doesn't actually use planned obsolescence, only the united nations. just like 80% of the world isn't 35 trillion dollars in fiat debt like the UN. and even if you can implement any of these systems, nationalized systems work more efficiently than international systems, for the very obvious reason that there are fewer "moving parts". Under no circumstance will the western nations be capable of competing with mainland china. in manufacturing, and by extension, warfare.

Full self-driving would rely on digital rails. All roads would need to communicate wirelessly with vehicles. All vehicles would need to communicate with one another and no human driver could be allowed to operate on the road. It’s actually pretty simple to accomplish that last one. Make insurance for human operation extremely expensive and give discounts for full self-drive. Over time maybe 25 years if all new cars made had full -self driving you’d eventually achieve the dream of full control over where people can go, when they can go, and data collection on people’s whereabouts and patterns of whereabouts. If you know a person passes a starbucks every day you can direct ads to that person’s in-vehicle console anytime before they pass the Starbucks. If you know this person will reliably go this route every day, you can sell Starbucks an ad-package to help them capture this consumer’s attention. With ai advertising Starbucks can deliver the a truly personalized ad to this consumer every time. The ad can even become episodic. To retain the consumer with short ads that they look forward to and are never repeated.
