Paul Lynde was easy to like. All us kids loved him and his diabolical humorous laughter 😃. I do wish she had been able to stay clear of Dean Martin. Dean became too trashy in that time. Booze will do that.

Uncle Arthur and Samantha‘s relationship was literally the best part of the show the way those two genuinely cared for each other was beautiful and the way he got under and her moms skin wasn’t too bad either

Uncle Arthur is still pulling his jokes. In this episode, I love the back and forth between Arthur and Endora. But I really love Samantha's ripping into her mother and uncle when she lays the law down about bringing their fight to her home.

At 2:43 Arthur says, " Well if it isn't my old 'Yaga zuzy' nephew-in-law " - a reference to Season 2, Episode 5 "The Joker is a Card" where Arthur plays a joke on Darrin by teaching him a supposedly magic incantation containing the words Yaga zuzy. It's exceedingly rare to have such a specific reference to a scene from a previous episode mentioned in Bewitched.
I watched that full episode today.

Uncle Arthur was the only sibling Endora had. Samantha’s other Aunts must of been on her father Maurice’s side of the family. It seems Arthur was the only uncle Samantha had.
In “Endora Moves in for a Spell”, Endora says she was an only child until Arthur was born, which would imply Clara is not her sister, since she is older than Endora.
@@louisewestie989 right! and I recall another episode when Endora lost her powers and somehow were transfer to aunt Clara. Dr. Bombay told Endora that a close relative could of unknowingly stole her powers. So I assume Clara is Endora’s sister in law, but not a actual family member.
I think aunt Clara is Endoras aunt and Sam's great aunt

Shows of that time were not known for their consistency or reliable continuity. Serena was definitely from Endora’s side of the family and so were Samantha’s other cousins. They would refer to Endora and even Uncle Arthur, but no one mentioned Maurice.
Uncle Arthur is tied with Aunt Clara for my favorite of Sam’s relatives! If I had magic powers, I’d probably visit my brothers and sisters and do the same things that he does with puns and jokes. :p Also, the dynamic between Endora and Arthur is amazing. This cast was truly magical! :)

Paul Lynde appeared in the 1966 Doris Day movie, the Glass bottom boat along with George Tobias and Alice Pearce who played Abner and the first Gladys Kravitz on Bewitched. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

BTW, several actors on Bewitched " crossed paths " with Elizabeth Montgomery before Bewitched...do you suppose George and Alice every met Ms Montgomery and Mr Asher before?
@@howardkerr8174 Alice Pearce was a personal friend of William Asher and Elizabeth Montgomery. Elizabeth suggested Alice for the role of Gladys Kravitz. Alice hid her cancer illness because she was afraid that she wouldn't work again. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

Even though Esmeralda replaced Aunt Clara, I wish she had appeared in fewer episodes and Paul Lynde appeared in MORE episodes.

Yes, I saw this in reruns in the 60s but I really loved it in the mid-70s (when High School sucked!) and our local station aired it in the afternoon! Now I'm a writer, influenced by (among other things) this show!

Agnes Moorhead played the MOTHER in Orson Welles 1941 film entitled "CITIZEN KANE"!! Which is thought by critics to be the GREATEST film ever made!! I know this because of my college class, Speech 280!!
She preferred radio and has many famous and memorable radio plays. Most of the them are probably on RUclips. The most famous is Sorry, Wrong Number. She did many Suspense episodes too.

This is just sad, it makes sense to encourage self control but being a witch is a part of who Tabitha is it just seems wrong to make her repress it.

Have you ever watched the first episode of Bewitched? Samantha lived a mortal life because SHE wanted to. Samantha was her own woman.
@@richardgarcia618 correct, that was HER choice. She didn't give Tabitha a choice. Even Dr. Bombay said that a witch not using witchcraft, was "the most unnatural thing in the cosmos"... it even physically affected Sam's health in the episode "No Zip In My Zap," where she even admitted to Darrin that she might have to start using witchcraft at least once per day, or suffer for it.
If I had powers like Sam I would use them every day in small ways. And behind my husband's back if need be. Otherwise, I'd do most things in the mortal way. (Jan Griffiths).
@@ImmortalSynn I don't think it was Sam depriving Tabitha per say. If Tabitha were to use her powers at the wrong time and wrong place it would expose the whole family. So she was basically trying to minimize the probability that would get exposed by their young daughter, and later son.

It's Endora that's the bad influence, she constantly meddles in Darrin and Samantha's marriage with no sense of boundaries, disrespects/emasculates Darrin, and even tried to kidnapp Tabitha (along with Samantha's aunts).
