  • The Greeks made philosophy a way of life for all of us, so much so that it is still the framework of our civilization. Shawn Boonstra looks back thousands of years to a time when people started asking all the right questions. Presented by Voice of Prophecy.
    ---------------------------
    About Authentic:
Host Shawn Boonstra makes it easy to understand how philosophy and biblical principles can help you live an authentic life in the 21st century.
We're going to deal with real existential questions-stuff that everybody wonders about: the meaning of life, purposeful living, the nature of human existence, the thoughts of great philosophers and how those have impacted our culture and how we live-the nature of love, relationships, emotions, self-awareness . . . But most of all, we’re going to be exploring what it means to live an authentic human existence.
New episodes on Saturdays. Watch on RUclips and a growing list of North American TV networks and stations.

Lololol. I remember stepping foot off out of the airport in Athens and looking at the street signs wanting to get to my hotel. There was no way I could figure out where to go. “ It was all Greek to me”!

Much to my mother's dismay, I took the message machine apart as small child (the "old" kind with cassettes). She said it definitely came from my father's side!

It's Phoenician to me since that's who taught the Greeks how to read and write! Any language that uses A-Z can thank the Phoenicians. They wanted letters that would sound out. Hello, Hooked on Phonics! Fact check it! I did! BTW, that shoots down that other lie, "Greece is the cradle of civilization," too.

Will there be a show about Hebrew thinking?
Because part of Greek thinking is believing the soul is immortal.

He kind of did that, but I can't remember the title of the episode. It had to do with Hermes Trismegitus, an Egyptian thinker who was raised by the Egyptians to the level of a god, and inspired all the alchemy and dark arts. Remember that the Hebrews were enslaved by Egyptians and later the Babylonians, and therefore influenced by both cultures regarding the immortality of the soul. Oh--I remember now---the Serpentine Prophecies--not sure when it will be released on RUclips. It was only just released a little over a week ago to be shown in churches over four nights.
