Not a Noctua user (because money), but always nice to hear 'em taking responsibility on the rare occasion they screw up - just wish they could release stuff a little faster sometimes 😂😊
If you had some of their earliest products they still provide free mounting upgrades for current platforms. My buddy is still running his original cooler from his 3770K now on his am5 platform
@@peaceinoutb Did see a YT-Short from LTT about that - really astounding to think that generation of coolers is still viable, and at that can have the fan upgraded to be within single-digits of today's equivalents!
That's part of the reason it's a rare occasion they do screw up. they take their time to get things right the first time instead of rapidly pushing things out to market to make a quick buck.
Noctua is a real stand-up company. I bought their NH-U14S before they added the AM5 bracket, but I had gotten an AM5 board. Although the mounting bracket that came with it still technically worked, I sent them a request for an AM5 mounting bracket and they sent it to me completely for free. From what I've seen, this is the norm for Noctua. All computer part companies should strive to have the amazing customer service Noctua has.
I've had the same experience with NZXT. They sent me an AM5 bracket for free from US to Europe for my now 8 year old AIO purchase. It's just such a satisfying feeling when companies offer support like that and stand behind their products.
I had an old nocturna cooler from 2012, in 2021 I needed the AM4 mounting bracket (as at the time I got an AM3 cpu) and they gave it to me for free, 9 years after I got the cooler.
I have a dark rock pro which I bought a decade ago. 5 years ago when I upgraded my system I emailed be quiet and they sent an am5 kit to me. Well it was not free, cost me 10 bucks, but i never expected it be free. Was an awesome thing since I could continue the usage of my device
Yup, this is why I use them. There are some coolers than might be a degree cooler or cheaper, but nothing comes close for quality, support, noise VS thermals, sound signature etc. Scythe also is extremely good I have run one of them for 20 years now.
I have been using the original D14 since 2010 and they sent me a free mounting kit every time I moved to a new socket. Upgraded to a D15 G2 for AM5 and my old D14 is still being used in my home server. For anyone who wants to build a company with returning customers, this is how you do it. Every single custom PC I’ve built for friends, family, and acquaintances in the last 15 years (probably about 40+ builds) contains a Noctua CPU cooler. Every time someone asks about a cooler and their budget allows it, I always recommend Noctua.
This is why Noctua is in a league of it's own. It's not even about performance. It's just you get quality product in every aspect. Well designed, well made, well supported.
This is why i only use noctua coolers. Had a slight problem with mine back then, emailed them and resolved in one call. Got a fan fin broken in shipping, replaced. Got a free mounting kit for new socket. Excellent customer service.
Noctua has to be one of the best companies out there. If you have an old cooler and ask them for mounting brackets for a new socket they'll just send them to you for free
This is how things need to be handled, find a problem? Fix the problem. No BS fighting the customers, just being upfront and honest, while doing something to actually fix the issues.
I have a g1 and a u14. I’m about to do the old pc hardware shuffle in my house, and was gonna move the u14 (currently on a 5930k) onto an 8700k. Emailed them a form with my 8700k and u14 proofs of purchase from 2018 and they sent me the mounting hardware for free. I love those guys.
I've been using Noctua coolers for nearly 20 years now back when they were sporting the NH-U12 as their flagship but still some of the best you could get. Air cooling doesn't fail, and while fans can die, it's typically not only a slow and obvious fault, but relatively cheap and easy to access and fix. Good on Noctua being a company that stands by their products and will make it right if there is a problem.
And this is why people stay with Noctua. Amazing products that do what they say on the tin, and in the rare cases when they don't, they treat the customer right. Also, their mounting bracket policy is just incredible
That's incredibly refreshing. Let me tell you I thought you was going to say but something something something you have to tell him they're special boys or something
I've never had Noctua coolers in my own devices, but I've only heard good things about them and apparently their fans are best-in-class. Good customer support however, is hard to come by so that's dope they took responsibility instead of screwing their customers over like many other large corporations tend to do these days. 😂
People say manufacturers don't matter, only the product, but situations like this are why I check manufacturers service history before looking at specific models.
The fact that Noctua will give you an am5 or lga1700 mounting bracket for their first ever cooler for free, as long as you can show you purchased it, is all the you need to know to use them if you go air cooling.
It has more heatpipes but the major difference seems to be the fan, putting the old fans on new cooler show same temps as the gen 1, no one ive seen has tested gen 2 fan on gen 1 but im convinced its the fans that changed the temps
And this is why noctua is worth every penny, every time. I had a notcua cooler from like 2012 and i was able to get a brand new am5 mounting system for it, FOR FREE and all they wanted was proof of purchase
Noctua is expensive because they provide the best customer support in the industry. Not that many people know that Noctua will send you updated board mounts for free if you ask for them.
Not surprised knowing those prices. Its literally a spinning piece of plastic on a radiator, they are dirt cheap to make and dont cost a lot to replace
And for as long as the original receipt is there for the cooler, you or any future owners can email noctua for newer mounting plates for any future sockets that Noctua supports for free.
Now THAT is what I call a consumer friendly company.

They’re such a good and reliable product that I even trust the pre-owned and returned ones.
