Just got my first oil analysis on my 3.5L V6 eco boost engine. The comments were very helpful and I'm glad I did the test. The data is so interesting, now I want to test all my fluids in all my cars😂
Hello Blackstone, it seems to me that just asking for the make and model does not specify enough information as many models use different engines. Maybe adding a column for the displacement or cylinder count. Thoughts? Thank you.
We agree 100%. Knowing the vehicle make and model is one thing, but letting us know the engine make and model is vital. Write down the displacement and cylinder count too.
My viper is on engine #3, I'll be sending in a sample at around 500 miles. What should I be looking out for to make sure the motor isnt going to grenade.....again
We'll be scanning the data for anything that looks like a concern, be it abnormal wear, contamination, etc. And if we do find anything off, we'll be sure to note it in the comment.
Usually engine oil is too dirty for a particle count, and you can rely on the insolubles test to determine if the oil filter is doing its job of keeping oxidized solids to a low level or not.
Glad you did this video. It helps me get more out of my report. Thank you!
Hello, Joe! Like the new video format.
Good stuff!

Sampling... it can get addicting. Thanks for working with us! Call or email if you have any questions the comments don't answer.
Testing my oil in my 3.5 V6 EcoBoost very soon… interested in the results. 180k miles.

Hi Joe, for oil viscosity is higher better or lower?
If I was selling high end used cars, they would come with Blackstone analysis.
Good explanation. Kill the distracting music.
Have you guys seen a lot of the 3rd gen eco diesels?
Sure have!

Do you have a shit ton of Perkins AD3.152 data?
Why aren't the particle counts for engine oil useful?

Is everyone's name Joe in this lab and why everyone speaks in Morgan Freeman's voice? 😂.
There's only one Blackstone Joe!
