- After a shortfield takeoff from the Second St Maarten's runway 20 and about an hour's cruise at FL350, it was time to initiate the descend to Larnaca Intl Airport, Cyprus. Watch all the cockpit procedures from the cockpit, including descent, approach preparation and briefing, circuit joining for the visual approach of runway 22, landing, taxi, shutdown and post-flight actions. Join the pilots in the cockpit as they overfly the airport to enter a left downwind and fly the approach fully manually all the way to final, where the captain performs a smooth touchdown on the runway. Featuring a unique "pilot's view" for the landing filmed with a GoPro on the cockpit window.

landing was really impressive, video was totally amazing.
Love the cockpit scenes at the beginning and the end -- seeing the captain cycle through the FMS, the ECAM pages and the filling in of paperwork at the end. I much liked as well the 'camera' distortion' effect at the end as well.
Thank you so much for watching, glad you enjoyed my editing! Please check out my other cockpit videos, too.
Love the Larnaca approach! Great video!
smooth landing, nice job. I will like to fly with them always
Great landing, great job, insanely smoothing!
Great video Demetris! Makenzy Beach looks fabulous at night!
Wo0oW! That landing!
I've never heard it get to five before. Beautiful hover, straight on the center line too.
yup, great landing
Nice Video! I love short approaches!
smooth landing noticed great job
Awesome video!!
Amazing video quality. watching this on 4k monitor makes me appreciate the hard work you put into these videos.
Amazing view ! Very Impressive ! :)
Nice video, nice landing!
wow so smooth ! amazing
Really awesome video mate!! Liked!
Nice ! All the way around !
Very nice video Demetris I enjoyed it :-)
It is really nice view when you are in the pilot cockpit. I wish I have an opportunity to ride a plane in the cockpit pilot. That was awesome!
Perfect landing!
I miss Cyprus. I was planning on going to flight school there. Love the vid, your videos are amazing.

Wow very quick and smooth .Nice landing, the reversers were only on for a quick second
Nice video man!
Excellent!
very good video
Good job!
smooth landing
Incredible landing! Congrats to pilots!
Thanks for watching! Feel free to check out my other cockpit videos as well, this one is extremely old.
nice Video !!!
I like bumpy landings for some reason not too bumpy though... Especially in the night when your whizzing past runway lights upon landing and you can see the strobe light flashing on the ground... Ah amazing...
Very nice landing,
wow what a soft landing!!!
Perfect landing, no more words are needed! :-)
Спасибо [Thank you] {Ευχαριστούμε}
Sehr gut
Great KISS LANDING ;)
Τι όμορφο landing👍
mpravo kali douleia :)
Thanks for sharing! Just came back from Cyprus, flew LCLK -LZIB. Seems like Larnaca X scenery is missing the approach/threshold lights for Rwy 22. What scenery are you using for LCLK?
Nice! Landing was sooo smooth.. Maybe because you were in the cockpit with camera? Just kidding.
what software did you use to make your logo intro video?
Question: How exactly do you land the plane especially since you have to descend and begin to slow down, yet do it without stalling the plane? Is landing the plane done automatically or manually? Also how do you calculate when it is time to begin your descent? Thanks.
(1) How exactly do you land the plane especially since you have to descend
and begin to slow down, yet do it without stalling the plane?
- Every plane has limits, as long as you don't exceed these limits you'll be fine. That means, "slowing down" does not automatically mean stalling. With the help of flaps (and slats if available) a plane can really slow down for landing. To give you a rough picture, an a320 can slow down from cruise of mach 0.78-0.80 to a slow 130-140kts.
(2) Is landing the plane done automatically or manually?
- Depends on the situation but on a calm clear day and typical company procedures, pilots uses automation for the first half of the approach, once lined up properly and a certain distance from the airport, pilot takes over manually.
Though this will ultimately be pilots discretion all things considered, weather, company procedures etc. On absolute garbage visibility, these planes can land itself automatically.
TLDR; it depends.
(3) How do you calculate when it is time to begin your descent?
- (the lazy answer) With the technology these sophisticated airplanes have, the answer is simple, the computer tells you when. The computer will calculate when to start descent and at what rate. Without pilot intervention, these modern planes will start to descent when it's time to descent.
but let's say no automation is involved, there is this formula that pilots know (which I don't but heard of it) which involves calcuation between the altitude, rate of descent, distance etc. There is a formula for it, it's basic math really nothing overly complicated. You can try to Google it.
Congratulations, great video. I m really sad that i ll never make my dream come true... Aviations academies are very expensive.. :'(
do what I did, I worked to pay my flight hours, 2 year and now I have my licence
in which country my friend... here in greece we have max 600 euro salary... :/
Do you mean work for the school? I think I have heard of that too!
+Mike ninja you can get a bank credit
Never heard it say "twenty-five hundred" before... I always thought it said "two thousand five hundred".
Kristopher McCamis There is a setting in the FWC in the MCDU which can be changed as “ Twenty Five hundred “ or “Two thousand five hundred “, in the calllout page
Maybe you should try make and an Alympic air or Aegean airlines take off or landing pilot`s vie video if you can . Not that I hate that
πολύ καλή προσγείωση ! πρέπει να είναι Έλληνας ο πιλότος ...
Manual landing?
Yes, as always.
SMOOTH LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT ROCK WHEN TOUCHING THE PAVEMENT
Thanks, check out my other cockpit videos too!

I don't know about piloting planes but this pilot seems very χεράς και μάγκας on landing
How does the pilot know exactly where to be headed once the plane is on the ground?
All I see are a bunch of endless lights .
tower tells them
usually though, they get out of the runway asap
Pilots have airports charts , so when a pilot land atc tells to him for example go to gate 24 , the pilots have to see in charts in what part they are and what taxiways need to use to go to the gate , are very easy.
