This is certainly a very unique place to have a level crossing, making for quite an experience walking down to and filming it. The bi-directional workings of each track is a nice touch too 👌🏻👌🏻
Nice day. Very noisy local birds. That a sound that's familiar to me, a train horn, because I live within earshot of two train lines and one tube line. The tube trains though have a whistle that makes them sound like a toy train.😄
This was a very nice day to record on, and yes, there were a few train horns I heard in my short time here. This level crossing is within a nature reserve, which probably explains the noisy birds
You're thinking of Ely Station North LC, which is about half a mile or so from this crossing. This crossing is on Kiln Lane in a nature reserve, also in Ely
It was amusing to see the chap cross the road to stand behind the barrier rather than stay on his original side where there was no barrier.
Nice crossing! 😁 nice toot tone on the Cross Country train! 🚂🚃🚃

Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video
Thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
Ohhh
Aren’t they closing Ely LC?
They closed it way back in November 2018. The Southern Bypass has long been completed and opened.
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings couldn’t they make Ely Station LC pedestrianised?
@@SouthEastLevelCrossings And now Kiln Lane is closing!
@@UKLevelCrossingsTrains Yeah I read about that Ely Area Capacity Enhancement. I'll try to get back to here before it closes if I can
@@SouthEastLevelCrossingsIt’s not the most special crossing I guess, but it was in a nice location with frequent trains.
What it’s abandoned

Yes I’m thinking of the one by the station that’s had it’s lights flash for like over a year
Great video
Thanks 👍🏻
