When it comes time, if you have any trouble getting through those pearly gates, just tell them you're the guy who posted those old Night Music episodes to RUclips. They'll let you through.
I have a old CD with him on it, playing the same song, and I always loved it. This is the first time I get to put a face to the music. What a great set.
The song by Zahar made me feel like I was driving through the market streets of Marrahkesh in an open roof Jeep when I first saw this back in the day. Still rocks.
We had 2, 4, and 8-year-old kids when this show was on, so we were asleep . I gradually learned about the show by watching the Leonard Cohen / Sonny Rollins "Who By Fire" masterpiece. Now that my grandchildren are in high school, I expect to work my way through these wonderful videos. I see many are from Japan; my one grandson is studying the language so maybe he can help me post appropriate support.
Great to see these shows again. Thanks for posting them. Looks like Tito Puente playing percussion with Djavan. Wow... They should have introduced him.
Even the last note Miles played on the song had more information than most have on they lengthy solos. And in the end did not stay for the corny ending but did leave...
I'm sorry but in the description you say that Miles played a song called So What written by the band Ministry. That's wrong, his song So What was written in the late 50s
Call me an odd duck. I've never liked Miles. Not before he spit on the crowd, not after. I know everyone wants him to be THE major force in (fill in the blank BeeBop, Post BeeBop, Fusion whatever). But art is art. I have never been moved by his.

The four people who gave this a thumbs down have issues.
There's always at least one...
If you like MILES DAVIS, u become a cool person!

37:08 I never knew Kenny Garrett played a straight alto. Great tone he's getting here!
That's a soprano, there is no straight alto.
@@farshimelt it is a straight alto. There is a straight tenor as well.
@@Guy-em4ck Joe Lovano did a whole album on a straight tenor. Unfortunately, it was only released in Japan.
@@johnnicholas7420 didn’t know that. My fav album of his is tenor legacy with josh redman.
@@farshimelt I own one. Keilworth
a time when music was upfront, understood and respected... not shoved in the back as a tool for some guy to talk silly all night.

Who was the other bassist that played with Miles here? Foley?
Foley on the lead bass that sounds like a guitar and marcus miller on the standard electric bass
On the flute is Groove W. J?!. . .
Paulo Ferreira

I did't know Al Sharpton was a backup singer for Hank.
Sanborn is a monster and miles was a realy boring musician in 70' and 80'
