    Outstanding work! Just as recommendation: try not to use “the hit” too much; save it for closing or opening really important segments, since overusing it makes it loose importance

      @@jordswzowski5577 I can’t remember the name exactly, but it’s the hit of the snare

    • @HyenaFox
      @HyenaFox Год назад +6

      @@gabelster3729idk what you mean by "the hit" but this cover has exactly no additional fills- he played it exactly like the original recording with the exception of some additional 32nd note embellishments on the hi hat, which is how most skilled drummers would play or embellish something like this in a live setting because just straight 16th notes for an entire song isn't the most interesting. He played every fill exactly as Ginger Root played it on the recording lmao.

    The performance is perfect! I just think for the aesthetics of the song, the snare is ringing too much. In the original song the snare is quite dry.
    In your case I don't know if it's the snare itself or the acoustics of the room, but if it's the snare then it would be useful to dampen it a bit. There are pads you can stick on the snare itself to kill vibrations, although I think snares themselves can be tuned for this? I'm not a drummer so I'm not sure.

      Thank you for watching!
      This video was only shot with a video camera...
      The recording environment is terrible, but I will try my best to make a better video. Thank you.

    what's the name of the technique you used? You hit 16th notes but also hit the snare, what's that called?

    • @steelheartdrums
      @steelheartdrums  Год назад +2

      It's called a 6-beat, a very common beat in 4/4 time with the hi-hat in 16th notes and the snare replacing the second beat and the beginning of the fourth night. Is this answer correct?

  • @marcoamole1616
    @marcoamole1616 3 года назад +2

    Amazing, btw why did you write "Roletta", instead of "Loretta" on the title?

  • @DarthN55
    @DarthN55 3 года назад +1

    I would try putting your wallet on the snare, it'll make it sound more dry and closer to the original song
