Where’s these I bought everything you have but it not so great here in Huntington Beach. Even true Marina del ray. Got skunked. Is that NorCal?
That print came out 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
Nothing better than a great day of fishing! Keep catching!
Where is this first place at ?? Would like to fish the pier
Edward, I love your running commentary, and your added instructional comments are spot on! Thanks again for some fantastic content! You are going to need a Hog permit for those tanks!
that big mullet in soup is on point!!!
Awesome fishing Edqard! I've noticed the surf in California is bigger than up here in Oregon. Mullets are edible and good if you smoke them. like the TINAPA
from the Philippines. Have a lot of fun and tight lines!
very nice, makes getting up early worth it. I will have to give lures more use in my neck of the woods. If the water wasn't so cold that would be some nice 3 prong action.
I really enjoy your videos and gives me the incentive to get out there and try some surf/perch/striper fishing. Once the weather improves I will hit up Half Moon Bay or perhaps Santa Cruz (and perhaps south of Capitola). Hopefully I will have as much fun as you guys:).
That is awesome!
Hi Ed, can you remove the middle treble hook from your Battlestar, it will avoid hooking the perch’s belly I think.
Edward this was awesome man!! What a bite. It is so rewarding when you put the puzzle of figuring out the conditions and get rewarded like this! Spot change was definitely worth it. 👌. Amazing vid!! Also those gyotakus are amazing!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great fishing day. Nice size perch. Can't what to get out there and surf fish.🐟🐟🎣
You got that right!
Awesome print of the piggy perch Edward! 👌
Thanks!
Great job. do a video of those big ones cooking. Peace from Orcutt!
yeeeew! Local love
Nice action my PB is a 19in barred and got the pic to prove it lol
NICE
So nice
Let's geddit!!
Excellent catches boys.. just like old times. Keep getting after it my friend.
How far do u have to cast ? I use those battlestars with a 8ft phenix inshore rod and a daiwa coastal bait caster and can only get out like 35 yards and while I’m reeling in the water just pushes it too fast or something because I have to reel pretty fast to feel any tension on the line and at that speed i feel like I can’t get any bites
@@jacobsaetane3572 in those situations those perch will less likely be within that fast moving sidewash sort of speak. Keep an eye out on both sides of that area. Odds are they will be at the tail end where it slows down or even at the beginning of that “horseshoe” as well. I generally don’t spend too much time there my self, possibly the standard Carolina rig will be a much better choice. Take what the conditions give you is what I stick to best of luck hopefully that helps.
Thanks, you too!
Try moving your line with the rod tip. sweeping up in short bursts really allows you to feel and stop the bait. also pay close attention to conditions, specifically wave power. sometimes it's better to pick and choose the days you go. if your area is rough on surf-forecast.com, focus on that honey do list. haha anything over 700 is going to be really challenging.
Thanks for the tips guys ! Much appreciated. Do u happen to have a video on how to read the “wave power” and stuff on that weather app? It’s a lil confusing for me on the wave power part
mullet taste delicious smoked
steamed mullet...ginger scallions and hot peanut oil over the top!!
Smoked mullet is pretty good
Sounds good! Thanks for being subscribed for 2 years John!
What rod and reel is best used for surf fishing? Perch/bass
Hero mission for sure bro! Yeah!! You weren't kidding when you told me, " Wait for the next video!" I think these fish were the best quality looking fish I've seen on your channel. I'm getting that Battlestar for sure. I had fun brother! Thank you!! 👍🏽
No doubt!
Good morning where can I get the plastics tube please send me website please thanks
Calicovers.net
That’s a Yuge surf perch, you know it’s big when you can grab it’s lip like a largemouth bass!
Seen a few pictures of beach #1 giving up some nice halibut however a 16 inch barred is a damn nice perch. Wins the Santa Cruz San crab classic most years for barred perch
That’s crazy to hear. Sandcrab classic is tough comptetition
What beach is that wear you can drive your truck on that’s Awsome

When you find the pocket of fish, they'll bite on anything that swim can get$2 lure Walmart, great advertisement
For surf casting(or whipping) a little bit of a longer rod is nice so you can effortlessly get the lure out farther. I use a 9’6 and I consider getting 10ft on occasion.
Excellent day of fishing Ed!
Yes it was! Thank Doug
Which beach is this that allows cars on the sand? I typically fish the Monterey area and north. None of the beaches I know of allow this. So cool I’d love to visit.
Nice try….😅
You can drive onto Pismo beach
thanks Edward, what surf rod is that?
Okuma Hawaiian custom 10’7”
Damn! You guys were on um bro. I’ve never caught a mullet, have heard they taste good though.
Yea it was pretty scrappy too. Fought hard for its size
Got my first perch on a lucky craft. I get it now. My lure flew off during a cast. What could be the reason? I used a uni knot directly to my braid line.
That’s one reason I tie a 30# leader line. Over time the trebles can catch the line and tear small threads and weaken it. What pound braid you throwing?
The Floridians Love to eat mullet.
If you had a perch pouch, do you bleed them right away or leave them in the pouch and bleed them at the end day? Thanks!
Yes pop the gills and bleed as you fish.
I'm a bay area resident and can't get any luck. Any suggestions?
I have 3 rods, an 8", 9", and ultralight. The bigger ones have 20lb test line. I also have a lot of perch baits (sliders, bloodworms, swimmers, etc) As well as waders
Do you have any suggestions for beaches I can go to? Preferably near SF as I don't have my license yet.
Thanks, great video as always!
You wanna fish a Carolina rig with either sandworms or a small crappie grub like bait, cast it out far in troughs and slowly bring it back in, guaranteed fish. Recommend baker beach or further south like Monterey
Hero or zero !!!
yup you know the deal
Slammed em
Where would I find that Hawaiian custom?
Got mine at Been There Caught That tackle shop in Santa Maria. They have a web site or call the shop they do shipping.
Nice catch Ed.Thank you for vid.I just ordered 2 of the battle star
Right on!
What’s your current PB for Perch and Striper?
16.75” perch and 14# striper
@@Hook2Cook 🤯🔥🤯🔥🤯
Is that the VR-50?
Vr75
Deep divers?
you always seem to have gloves on. Curious is it for insulation or does it serve other purpose? I'd imagine it gets filled with sand like everything else in the beach.
It’s to protect against the braided line slicing your fingers. No sand
Are California mullets good to eat?
Mullets are actually very delicious fish, especially if you love seafood and prefer your fish to taste like fish. However, be cautious when eating it raw to avoid getting sick. Overall, you can make a great meal out of a mullet, so don't avoid eating this fish solely on its traditional reputation. copy and pasted from google
Yes, thanks
@@Hook2Cook was going to take that short route, but I was bored.
If you weren’t so secretive about your spots, I bet you’d get way more subs 😉
You’re right! 😉
And less fish. 😂
why does it matter - no gaurantee the fish will be there waiting for you - if anything by the time you get there theyll ne fished out by all the googans who cant find fish if thier life depended on it !
what beach is that?? ...or is it a top secret ??
no different than any other beach - if youre good youll hook them wherever you go !
