Marble Kingdoms 7

- Not just a marble battle, but the entire war.
Armies travel randomly across the map, engaging in combat if they meet. Once conquered, towns will produce more fighters for the player. Whenever the army goes to the home city or an friendly town, it will reinforce itself with fighters.
If an army is defeated, it will retreat to its home city to regroup.
If a player's home city is attacked, the king will join in the defense. If the king is slain, the city will be lost, and the remaining fighters will form flee as a new army.
If a player has no home city whenever an army is defeated, that army is permanently destroyed.
Fighters gain experience by scoring kills. If a fighter gains enough experience it will level up, gaining perks like additional hit points, speed and/or equipment.
Destroy all the enemy kings and armies to win!
Four colours competing:
Red, Green, Blue, Yellow
Which colour will win?

Hi
It's nice idea. I see heroes with weird names.
Zaria, the three-time King Slayer.
She was there when all the kings died, all by her hands.
Fear her wrath. Fear her speed.
Fear the whistling in the breeze.
That's not the wind howling, that's an arrow speeding past your head.
I think the last one was killed by another hero, which makes it ironic how she was the only survivor from that attack.
The blues got the one who killed their king, and failed to kill the strongest threat that helped him
actually the third king was slain by Waruen
I like to think of those leveled up archers as Zarias’ Substitute/Apprentices
Average silk song fan knew what was up and slaughtered all the archers to prevent the prophesy… Unfortunately he was slain
I liked how she helped two fellow archers gain notoriety as well-it was really that elite sniper squad that had me invested in Yellow winning, despite my usual allegiance to green, because, well, Green's hero Average Silksong Fan was way too reckless.
It's amazing how something as simple as having the spearmen keep their spears relatively straight made them from one of the worst all the way to being in the top 5 most effective units
top 5 yea hahahaha
I mean, there's only like 5 unit types already, so I think they are more or less all already top 5.
@@Seraphim7996 that was the joke dude
On a serious note, if we went into subclasses, they'd be more like towards the end of top 10. Kings, commanders, knights, archers, bersekers, footsoldiers, shielded footsoldiers, hammer guys, and spearmen (not in order). Counting the upgraded versions of those units, it pretty much doubles the amount of units there can technically be, leaving spearmen higher on the list than one might think
@@omexyl1752 I can feel pain cause my marble has a spear in grey team and dead killing 6 people
At the end of the video, there should be a podium, with information about the greatest warriors of that round. Alongside the kingdom stats. How many kills, longest unit alive, etc.
Those are the ones the Scarlett General, that lvl 5 red from marble kingdoms 3, give his blessing 5o join his ranks in the afterlife.
@@cmmpr111 The Scarlet general is who we all wish we could be
Maybe even just a running top warriors, from all the videos
Each kingdom’s (including the civilians) top 3.
Also no more giving characters joke names. They lessen the vibe.

Once the dust settled, Zaria returned to Yellow's castle where she was declared a hero because she helped keep the castle from being invaded by the other armies. For this, she gained the nickname "Archer Queen".
@jarrodkopf681314 she can be in clash of clans
@@noobi3_kn1ght4 I was reading the comment and then I read this and died 🤣
It's all start When Zaria enter the army..
being the Weakest.. and then She train more.. And more.. She manage to Kill many of Enemy with Her arrows.
She recruit New Archer, Being friends with them.. but,.. unfortunately Blue army's Kills them.
That make Zaria Sad..
She mad.. He gone stronger, better... Then before, at that time.. She goes forward, killing Everyone Infront of Her..
Arrows by arrows She Shoot, enemy by enemy She kill.
Just for Her Best friends..
And She now Known as "Queen of arrows"..
Archer queen should be a great name for zaria🎉

Man, yellow's archer squad were legends. They managed to kill the blue king, only for his remaining army accidently stumbled upon them with only Zaria, the strongest being able to escape. In the end the blue army got destroyed by an archer clan which is pretty ironic lol, and yellow won anyways
The story of KARIA
After her village in the mountain was conquered by the yellows, they demanded that the best archers be sent to serve in the army. She loathed the invaders. She would never call herself a yellow. But she was the best and so she was stolen from her home, sent to die in a meaningless war.
7:58 She had never seen so many people in the same place, and the first thing they did was massacre one another! Almost sixty greens and yellows and blood everywhere and she had no idea what she was doing! She kept shooting between the trees, praying blindly that she would hit the enemy and not her comrades... There was a green, clad in steel, cleaving his way through the yellow troops, he was getting close! Was there anyone left but her and this monster? In the distance she heard a horn bellow, and she ran through the woods until she was safe...
As a veteran of this bloody battle, she was promoted and received a stronger, deadlier bow. Her heart beating, she realized that the only way out was victory. She would not die in this war, *she would not*!
10:03 Three had escaped. They followed the maddened green knight, and captured the knights' monastery. As she parted ways with the soldier that would stay to guard the place, she understood that a war was not something that was won through victory, but through strategy.
10:20 A little village in the mountain, populated by peaceful archers... She convinces her fellow yellow to turn around without bloodshed.
11:26 Is this where the blue king lives? To think that if he were to die from a stray arrow, the blues would fight no longer...
11:27 As long as she can decide where to go, she will not attack neutral villagers, unlike a certain green knight.
12:42 Only three reds... After careful pondering, she has realized that this place is probably the one where she can most swing the war in favor of the yellows with the least deaths. Her last yellow comrade, a brazen man-at-arms, runs into the enemy and practically impales himself. She remains calm, in the back, and kills three times with three arrows.
12:55 Heroes are quite peculiar. They embolden and lead armies, they snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, they are powerhouses that can turn around a battle by themselves. Kill the heroes, and the enemies become easy pickings. That green knight who terrified her so much? She knows he has been felled by arrows. She tracks down the careless red hero travelling alone: she will nip this burgeoning mass-murderer-to-be in the bud.
14:44 She has been reassigned to a new battalion. As an archer, she has no say in the direction of the army. She does what is necessary to be promoted, swearing silently that she will lead this army, and lead it where it must go to stop the killing.
15:00 Recently promoted, she immediately conceives a plan to turn this war around. But her troops refuse to listen, they say an archer does not understand the battlefield; and while she bickers to make her voice heard, the reds ambush her troops with superior numbers.
Breathing deeply, she joins the fray and slays enemy after enemy until none is left. Her authority will not be questioned again.
16:15 At the head of her own army this time, she does not grow careless. Before she engages the enemy in their seat of power, she must learn with the patience of the hunter stalking the prey. She ambushes the red army with superior numbers, taking minimal casualties.
17:14 She has mastered open battlefields and large battles, but her prey lies behind tall walls... She must practice sieges in cramped buildings first. This village will do nicely.
17:35 This village was once like her hometown, peaceful and quiet. Now, it is a blue-painted lie; there are no archers in these walls, and she can slay them without remorse.
18:24 She needs more troops to take on the enemy kings head on. With her newfound army granted by the yellow king, she intimidates the local population into submission.
18:26 *She needs more troops.* She promises death to all who resist, confident they will bow to her will. She gasps when she hears they prefer to fight to the death, but she cannot falter, or her whole plan will fall apart! The yellow troops eye her expectantly, ready to cast her down if she hesitates. With a scowl, she gives the order.
18:44 More ambushing, more weakening the enemy, wounding them again and again until she is ready to pounce for the final blow...
19:50 The green garrison has just left to reinforce the army. Now is the time to strike! She has grown close to loyal yellows, archers like her. The rest of her troops die in the brutal melee, but with her apprentices, she chases the green king, hounding him from all sides, until finally, her arrows find their way to his heart!
20:32 A lone green has escaped her attack. A hero. She will not let this grow into a problem further down the line. She will not leave a survivor. She is now beyond mercy. That is the price of victory; that is the price of peace.
21:36 Her proteges must learn to kill. This poorly defended monastery is a perfect place to practice their shooting skills with little risk, and that makes another victory. Another step towards peace.
22:27 Eradicate the last presence of the greens. Another careful, secure victory, and one less enemy to deal with.
24:14 24:23 Holding the kingdom together is a full time job, but she is good at it. None of her soldiers will die here, she needs everyone for the coming battle...
25:25 Conquest after conquest, the kingdom grows. As long as her enemies will bleeding one another dry in the North, she *will* succeed. With this last victory, the yellow king agrees to grant her the largest army she has ever led.
25:40 Her troops outnumber the blues more than four to one. That much is needed to deal with heroes. She leaves nothing to chance.
26:31 The foolish reds died here, leaving the place an easy picking for her army. With Waruen and Clash Bluelight, she rains arrows on the exhausted defenders, for another flawless victory.
26:43 She has meticulously culled the enemy's forces and conquered the surrounding settlements. Now is the time to confront the reds while they are at their weakest. Even then, the enemy almost mathes her in numbers, but she is twice the generals they are! Her troops funel the enemy into killing zones where her archers rain arrows; even the red king can only hold on so long before her arrows finds his heart. One down... two to go.
27:07 A lone refugee, a potential hero. This will not grow into a problem.
27:28 The blues are still strong, she simply cannot face their army! So, she doesn't. Cut off the snake's head and wait for it to stop writhing. The castle defenders are many, but she doesn't face them head on foolishly. Instead, she and her apprentices rain arrows down, and one by one the blues fall, until Waruen hits the blue king by chance. She feels a strange tinge; she'd expected to savour this victory... But she congratulates him nonetheless. Now, it is a small matter to unify the country under her banner.
27:53 As usual, hunt down the refugees, leave no survivor.
28:08 She usually takes care to only attack when her troops outnumber the enemy, but these are slow hammerwielders, and she knows her archers can put them down before they can pose a threat.
28:24 Seasoned killers one and all they are now, her apprentices. She has... grown weary... of the battles. It was so long ago she'd sworn to bring peace, and she has reached the end of her plan, and it is not yet over... Maybe it is time to consider a change of career? She leads her friends to the forest, to teach them the hunting tricks she learned as a child...
The blues pounce on their only chance to turn the war around. For this single lapse of vigilance, this single taste of peace, she loses all her friends. Alone, she escapes, and cries bitterly on the work yet to be done.
29:16 It is said the mighty blue army was vanquished in the mountains. She does not stop. She cannot afford a single moment of respite. *She cannot lower her guard.* All the blues must die before she is safe.
30:15 There can be no compromise. There can be no survivors. There can be no defeat. They must submit or die.
30:00 31:01 Once upon a time, she used tactics. Now, she is death incarnate. There is no longer need for tactics, there is only overwhelming might.
31:37 This is her penultimate battle. The conclusion is already foregone. After she is victorious here, there will be only one enemy left.
Years ago, she was stolen from her home, sent to die in a meaningless war. Through personal excellence, never having a moment of rest, she has become the perfect soldier. With her cunningness she has turned blind conflict into a campaign to end the war as the most fearsome general of the world, commanding a hundred loyal soldiers. Now, the country is pacified, and there is only one loose end. Her arrows crave the last crown, the man who, years ago, stole her from her home, sent her to die in his meaningless war.
Wow 😮 👏 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

But she didn't die in the war but amazing
Honestly really well written aside from getting her name wrong initially xD

I think we should totally have like a hall of fame some time, where we feature all the legendary heroes and heroines that came out. Maybe a round where each kingdom’s legendary hero is their general.
Zardia’s the goat, need her next marble kingdom
Only partway in, and already it's clear that armies with only 1 marble should fall back to their castle just like completely-routed armies. Otherwise you get things like Blue's army bouncing around for 'way too long and Green's commander trying to solo an entire town of archers and getting turned into a pincushion.
Yes I agree.
Crazy thing is they almost won the first time. As a fan of the color myself, I can say they did indeed have the hubris of a green.
19:59 Zaria saves fellow Warren from a defender's flying arrow so that they may go on to slay one of the three enemy kings, truly a hero as swift as the wind

All hail the great archer Zaria and their companions. Was cool to get not just one archer hero but multiple. Just like with the orange duo from a few videos back, it turns out that having a whole squad of heroes in an army massively increases its power. They even pulled off what I think is our first proper assassination run (though they paid the price for their audacity when blue's army came home...)
Actually that entire final section was amazing. High level archer hero gathers a band, trains up some lesser heroes, assassinates TWO different kings, then narrowly escapes the violent retribution of one of the rulerless armies where the last of their comrades die.
The new retreat mechanic is awesome, wonderful addition there. Marbles need to actually try and retreat though, they stay too focused on murder a lot of the time. Also you need to lower the Nope threshold again, a single general should not willingly assault a fortress with nearly 20 soldiers over and over again. RIP silksong fan
The AI change to spearmen helped a lot I think, they're not nearly useless in a fight now. Actually they might be a little TOO strong now though I'm not certain. They do extremely well in the village defenses now but it's hard to tell if that's because their new "point instead of spin" behavior is too good or because their home map is really good for spearmen.
Minor complaint: an army that conquers a spot but doesn't have enough soldiers to man it should still conquer the spot. It'll be at 0 people anyways but it's kind of annoying when they get left neutral.
Zaria’s greatest feats:
Killed two kings and was in the battlefield when a third one died
Survived a 49 to 4 battle
Won a 4v1 against infantary soldiers as an archer
Killed more than 100 marbles
Reached level 6
10:05 I love how this "battle" was just a blue soldier sneaking past the green knight 😂
It was so sad seeing Green send out their lone hero again and again against countless armies until he died. 😭
I don't think he was sended there by himself, he was just a lone survivor of all battles and he died all by himself because he thought he could take them. I don't think it was desperation, I think it was HUBRIS.
1 man cannot take nearly 20 archers and expect to win.
Unless you are the yellow one.

Add "achievements" for marbles - like "kingslayer" (for killing king) or "butcher" (for at least 20 other marbles slain) or "sole survivor" (for survivng battle as only marble) - all with minor boosts or extra traits.
Also "One Man Army" - enter a battle against 5+ opponents alone and force the enemies to retreat.
@@ehx3419 SOLOER enter a battle solo against 25+ troops and force the enemy to flee or to be routed
I'm glad too see that we're back to having heroes that last more than 2 or 3 battles,
also, it seems like the guys with hammers are really weak?
The first issue is how slow they are, they have a hard time getting to the enemy to begin with and even if they do reach the enemy then nothing stops the enemy from running away.
The second issue is that the hammer doesn't seem to deal damage unless it's moving really fast, as a result they tend to get swarmed easily, a few enemies get really close and then the hammer can't build speed so they just die.
Either of these issues on their own would make the hammer units below average, together they make them nearly useless,
in large battles they either can't reach the enemy, get swarmed by the enemy or just don't have room to swing so they can kill the enemy.
In smaller battles their slowness is even worse of a downside, they outright cannot fight archers unless they out number them because archers flee, spear men are a similar deal as they out range the hammers, and most other units have a solid chance of killing them because the hammers tend to hit things and slow down.
My advice is that you give them a normal move speed and add spikes to the hammer that deal contact damage like all the other weapons do.
Either way I still loved the video, thank you for making these videos and for being willing to listen to random people in the comments when they suggest stuff.
Yeah hit detection feels wonky
The hammers are even slower than every other unit
I agree the Blacksmiths need an ugrade
if they could maybe heal units around like some kind of cleric it could also be quite intresting to see how much that changes
@@virtuagianni6797 that could get op with lots of units
Upon rewatching, I've noticed two things about the retreat option. Besides coming slightly too late, the enemy team seems to have a function where they immediately go to try and block it off. This would be pretty cool if it weren't for the fact that the retreating units don't seem to have that same pull function, making their retreat soley based on luck. This makes it so that most units don't even get the chance to retreat due to enemy blockage and their own random movements working against them. Another thing is that unless the marble is touching the retreat with their body, this makes it so that long weaponry and shields can become a great disadvantage. This is most notable with the green hero struggling multiple times to retreat, but their sword kept pushing them away. Mixed with the lack of a pull system for the retreating army, it quickly caused their demise. Also, surviving retreaters have a tendency to not go back to their castles. A fate that sealed the green hero's and that one random blue soldier that escaped like 2 fights before getting caught and killed
I Return once more. And no I'm not counting how many retreated.
*_SPOILERS AS ALWAYS!!_*
I know that I put in every upgraded unit i found in the previous two wars but I'd be here forever if I count how many upgraded units there were. I have still chronicled a few of the more important ones. I still appreciate that they have names in the first place, but counting the upgraded units that immediately died just got tiring after a while.
*Neutral: 233*
I don't know why these guys stuck around for so long, honestly. Ah, such is the unpredictable nature of marble races.
Aleera took 21 lives and proved to be a whirling deathstorm in only 2 battles. It took average silksong fan to take them down.
Joanwerd of the North-Western House has claimed 28 lives before being taken down by "usario normal".
*Green: 205*
Green was the first to "drop off" as it were. They've only one real hero to their name, too.
The Commander, "average silksong fan", is ballsier than any unit i've seen since the first war. asf intentionally challenged a group of 5 armoured neutral units guarding the central town _and killed all five of them._ I suppose all the Hollow Knight practice payed off! They even killed Aleera! They also faced 12 neutral archers alone and killed 11 of them before retreating after taking substantial damage. They ultimately (and sadly) died at 49 kills and one neutral archer named "Joejoecoco Gaming".
The king was slain by Zaria the deadeye. The remaining unit that stayed was picked off by the other yellow units shortly afterwards.
*Red: 279*
Red was next to lose their king. The faction had an unremarkable time, and didn't even any notable units.
The one person that was moving from the (by then red-owned) Western Smithy had _quite a few_ double takes, i'm sure.
*Blue: 310*
I don't know how blue avoided so much fighting in the first few minutes. Didn't notice any good heroes from this one either.
*Yellow: 266*
The grand winner, and most of it thanks to one archer unit. Being bloodthirsty, yellow has engaged in more battles than any other faction, neutrals included.
Zaria is an accomplished sharpshooter; 111 kills (the green AND red kings among them)!
Zaria's less experienced friend Waruea ended up killing the remaining Blue King.
Zaria was joined by Waruea, Sirius, Clash Bluelight, and another nameless Archer in defeating the remaining Blue Surenderrers and the red-controlled western smithy. Waruea, Clash Bluelight, and Sirius got defeated by, well, _the entire blue army._
The blue army got destroyed soon afterwards by the north-western barracks, which gave trouble to basically all four of the factions.
*Total: 1,293*
The retreat mechanic is quite nice! But I'm sad that 1-man armies can't conquer whole towns. :(
As always, the berserker class is quite powerful. Archers are another surprisingly powerful unit.
This war also marks the first time a battle has ended without ANY Casualties. It was between a nameless blue unit and average silksong fan. the blue ran away immediately.
Yeeeeeee i was in natural team
I really like the fact that you buffed the spear warriors
They now also try to rotate the spear tip to the nearest enemy, makes a big difference!
Yeah, 5 won against 20 including a commander, proving once again that pole arms are the superior weapon
This is the first time someone had 3 level 3+ marbles in the army and the first time an archer reached level 3. And yellow even combined the two of those achievements.
No in the third one commanders got to lvl5
@@Leo-lu5tx But not three in one army and no archers.
As an average silksong fan I can relate
he deds
Couple changes of note I liked:
The change to the archers was really good-they gained damage when they leveled, which is something I was considering proposing until I noticed that it was happening on screen. If this was already the case, then the archers last time must have just been very unlucky.
Retreat was a really good way to give a chance for an 'out' to armies with a high level unit that was heavily outnumbered or injured (like the green general, lol)
Also, making it so unoccupied towns wouldn't be producing soldiers for the country that last hit them, that was good. It made the whole thing feel a lot more dynamic with places being able to become free once again. In fact, it gives me a funny idea of a (EXTREMELY low likelihood) possible ending, with a single hero bouncing around the map with an entirely free map, no armies, zero occupied settlements.
I didn't really see any changes I disliked.
One thing I'd suggest is: boss mode for this format.
One in the middle, with multiple armies and a faster soldier generation rate for the home, and multiple kings at home as well-when a king dies, that army stops being able to resupply and once it fully dies, it's gone for good. Just a vague idea, though.
I suggest buffing the Giants (the one holding hammers) with their hammer rotation speed. They may have a bigger hitbox and slower, but they have extra hp and more hammer power! And yeah, knockback is only great for commanders' shields so don't add it back to Giants' hammers lol
The best kingdom of archers, yellow. It was not enough when archers survived, but here rank 6. And a few small ranks, the special forces of the Middle Ages. I think no one expected that the archer would be the main warrior.
The new meta is spear dudes and archers. Every other class except maybe berserks is inferior.
Her and the heroic from the 3rd one on the same exact team

basically, archers require big-game-tactics more than any others do, now.
I like how they effortlessly slaughtered everyone, all heroes, kings EVEN WHILE NERFED! That's how op crossbows are. Notice the longest surviving hero was a crossbow. And someone was saying they're too weak now.
@@jaideepshekhar4621 They were weak before the buff, last episode. Not now(though it still takes some luck to get them to a strong enough point)
These kingdoms battles are SO GOOD keep em coming :DDD
I have a suggestion for a spin-off series.
Everybody gets 1hero (lvl 1) and they will only pick up lvl 1 units from friendly settlements.
Building an adventuring party with different classes.
Lots of smaller neutral settlements to start.
When your last hero dies, a new one will respawn at your strongest settlement. No more settlements to respawn at, you lose.
You might need to tweak the retreat mechanic a bit to prevent too many party wipes....
It would be awesome to see some more tense, smaller fights. Where you can really follow your favourite marble's story to greatness. Or ruin....
Bro if average silkwood fan would've just went to get troops😢

The one that killed him was named after me. I didn’t know if I should feel happy or sad
True
Then did it twice
that Yellow archer Zaria carries every encounter she got in... 😯😯
ZARIA WAS THE HERO YELLOW NEEDED. She killed 3 kings, leveled up, and won unwinnable battles. Say it with me, "ZA-RI-A!" She stopped unstoppable firing squads and axe men. Like, she was sniping enemies across the map. She bounced from camp to camp, capturing with small numbers.
I think the retreating is a good idea but it doesn’t come nearly soon enough to be a factor
Like as the last guy is getting stabbed to death the option seems to appear.
Yea I will probably fine tune it a bit more
Facts I'm so disappointed that the green commander just ran into 2 firing squads of archers and got shot down - sure he finally decided to retreat within an inch of his life on the first one only to waste it on the second, but on the second he didn't even get the option to run.
@@lostmarbles2d Maybe upon reaching a certain threshold of health, Named units should automatically move towards the retreat line. Also, the line should be a little bigger, since I saw average silksong fan struggle due to their large sword blocking their way! xD

Zaria, the archer with 111 kills... sounds great
Damn, Zaria the archer had over 110 kills
111 actually
And she lived to the end as well
Wow Zaria is the best archer I’ve ever seen ! He has the most amazing tactics, almost staying untouch every single fight. Truely a legend.
Zaria
"greatest archer in the realm"
amassing 111 kills !
Battles seem to get more balanced as it was our first time seeing heroes from every weapon except hammers, they seem to become even worse as their movement is just too slow, before, they were able to defeat archers cause hammers had many hp, and now archers just destroy them cause they are too slow to even get to them
I am proud too see my hollow knight brethren in such a prestigious position as the green general, and sad to see them fall to our inescapable tenacity
I hope Zaria can continue as some kind of Super Boss to be beaten. They are a 1 person army. Seems a shame to lose them just because the video ended 😂
Yellow also had a heroic to lvl5 in the third one so zaria and that heroic could be bosses

It's kinda disappointing that retreating armies don't go to reinforce, or that conquering a town with a single soldier doesn't get you that dwelling (for lore reasons?)
How are they supposed to keep that dwelling guarded, bruv
I changed that for "logic" reasons, but I realise now this could be problematic if a player only has one dude left in total - they wouldn't be able to get any more.
@@lostmarbles2d maybe give the ability for having multiple armies once the main castle passes a certain threshold another army detaches from it
Lore reasons could be:
Retreating armies don't go to reinforce - Lone soldier reference from previous episodes
Conquering a town with a single soldier doesn't get you that dwelling - Yeah I have no idea what Lost Marbles' intention is; All I can think of is it "nerfs" lone but powerful soldiers
Why not have a lone marble convert the town to his color, starting with 0 marbles there, and build up from there?
The defending warriors have all been killed.
The lone hero has no-one to leave behind to defend the new town...
But babies will be born, and the people will start training new defenders for their new overlord.

The story of JOANWERD
She was there when the war began. The marbles used to live in peace, but everything changed when the blue nation attacked.
0:03 They have heard the rumors of war. Her family has grabbed pitchforks, hoes, all sorts of makeshift spears, anything to protect theiry homes. They fight like lions, but they're outnumbered four to one. The ragtag militia is getting slaughtered... but grandpa Lunarex fights on and encourages her to hold on! With a lucky hit she strikes the enemy commander and soon the blues are running for their lives... She can scarcely believe it, but she won! The village immediately names her commander in chief, so she can prepare the youth to defend their little hamlet.
7:02 There used to be five militiamen including her, but the village was drained by the blue's raid. Still, she managed to raise a little force of defenders. Now, the invaders are red, but it doesn't matter to her: family first, and anyone else can go to hell!
She sees her friends fall around her, again, even grandpa Lunarex, but she grits her teeth, loots a shield from a fallen enemy and charges right back into the melee!
11:31 The reds are back for more! She knows it will never stop, but she'll be damned if she lets her village get enlisted in the senseless war of these pricks at the castle! Will she have to let the young generation get bled again and again?
She has barely had time to give the spears of her fallen comrades to a handful of kids...
With grim resolve, she charges into the enemy battalion, hoping to sell her life dearly and make the reds think twice about returning here. Emboldened by her courage, her greys strike and kill and gain levels, and as she closes her eyes, struck by half a dozen blades, she looks at Nick Philips and sheds a tear. A kid with a spear, facing the overwhelming military of the invaders... She was in his shoes a week ago, a single week of defiance that stretched for an eternity...
I feel proud I was part of joanwerd family
And to think, to this day, the first red general is still the greatest fighter there ever has been. With over 150 kills and many of them heroes.
As a yellow supporter 13:05 was one of the best moments 💛
Once teams retreat they should be sent straight back to their city as if they were routed at 0 units, as should armies that have too few troops to actually capture anything. Seeing green's level 4 just bouncing into 2 separate archer encampments until they died when they couldn't even capture them was pretty dumb lol.

The Chronicle of Zaria - The Archery Grandmaster
Background - Archery, the practice of fighting at range with a bow. Some would frown upon it, calling bowmen cowards and discrediting their achievements. For others, the skill required to effectively utilize the bow and arrow as a weapon of war makes them just as respectable as any other soldier. In the Yellow Kingdom, you can find mythological stories of archers dictating entire wars and becoming unstoppable warriors. Most would've said that there's no way these tales have any basis in reality. That was, until they saw one of these fabled archers with their own eyes.
Chapter 1: The Silksong Encounter (0:46) - The Four Corners War, so named because each of the four kingdoms was positioned at the corner of the square of land they fought over, would see the Yellow and Green Kingdoms immediately wage battle as the Yellow Army confronted Commander Silksong's unit right after their takeover of the western hammer village. Despite losing most of his unit, Silksong would inflict massive losses on the Yellows and make it out alive with his lone remaining subordinate. The Yellow Kingdom considered Silksong a top-priority target after this battle.
Chapter 2: The Yellow Archery Initiative (2:49) - A lone Yellow soldier has escaped from disaster after the rest of his unit was slain in the central village. Since close range combat wasn't working, the kingdom decided to initiate an archery training program in the hopes of utilizing their ranged capabilities to gain an advantage in the conflict. To get started, that lone soldier was sent with a new unit to the southeastern village, hoping to control that village's bow and arrow production and train some of their people. The village's defense, led by Captain Hadena, put up a valiant effort, but was no match for the Yellow Army.
Chapter 3: Another Encounter With Silksong (3:15) - The Green Kingdom's spies have returned with intel suggesting that the Yellow Kingdom intend to train a unit of archers. This greatly worries Silksong, who predicts that whoever has the greatest ranged capabilities will have an unassailable advantage in the long-term. The commander, despite not replenishing his force, immediately confronts the Yellow Army right after their battle in the southeast. The Yellows kill his lieutenant and throw everything at Silksong, but once again fail to kill him as he escapes to fight another day. Soon afterwards, the Red Army exterminates the remainder of that Yellow unit, forcing the Yellow Kingdom to stand idly by while they built a new force.
Chapter 4: Dawn of a Legend (7:57) - It has been a long and arduous effort to train their new army, but the Yellow Kingdom can afford no longer to wait. The newly minted General Silksong has conquered multiple villages for the Green Kingdom, and his continued presence would make this war a losing effort for Yellow. The new army contains a group of recruits from the southeastern village trained with the bow. Among those recruits is Zaria, who the village considered to be their strongest candidate. Far away from home and now sent out to fight for her new rulers, Zaria marches with the new Yellow Army to face off against their nemesis and his replenished Green Army. As both sides inflict heavy casualties on each other, Zaria downs two Green soldiers with her bow before retreating from the intimidating presence of Silksong, whose greatest fears were starting to be realized. The Green general immediately attacked the southeastern village afterwards to stop the Yellow Kingdom's Archery Initiative, but was unable to hold the village and forced to retreat.
Chapter 5: Silksong's Archery Genocide (10:26) - It's unknown to this day what caused Silksong to go down the path he did, but after his encounter with Zaria and her comrades, the lone Green general went mad and executed a genocide upon those who wielded bows and arrows. Starting in the east and making his way up north, Silksong slaughtered without mercy, vowing to cleanse the lands of these supposed vermin. It would prove to be his downfall, as the northwestern archery village turned the general into a pin cushion, thus ending the tale of Silksong. For Zaria, however, the story has only just begun.
Chapter Six: Trial By Spear (12:41) - News of Silksong's genocide and downfall has reached our fledgling Yellow archer, much to her disgust. "How fitting that he was brought down by the people he sought to eradicate!" Zaria exclaimed to her lone remaining comrade as they approached the northeastern spear village. That would be their last spoken exchange, as the village defense quickly put him down. Zaria would immediately repay the favor by skillfully sniping all three of the guards. As she departed, a lone Red spearman by the name of Usario crossed her path and engaged her. Once again, Zaria deftly put down her opponent and made haste for the Yellow Fortress.
Chapter 7: Rebuilding The Initiative (14:44) - Fresh off her first campaign, the Yellow Kingdom gave the newly titled Lady Zaria a new force to lead into battle. The first order business was to restart the Archery Initiative. After a minor skirmish with a stranded Blue soldier, the army marched north to begin their conquest. There, they find a village struggling to recover from Silksong's rampage. The guards don't take kindly to the Yellow Army's presence, but they are quickly dealt with, as Zaria wants to train new bowmen for her army.
Chapter 8: The First Battle of the Northeastern Forest (15:00) - As Zaria's forces depart from the newly conquered village, they spot the Red Kingdom's army charging towards them and ready for another battle. Despite suffering significant casualties, Zaria and her unit wipe out the opposing Red soldiers. Needing to replenish their forces, the army heads back south, where they get orders to take the eastern hammer village. The village falls without any resistance due to overwhelming numbers, and Zaria replenishes her forces, while also conscripting the first trainee from the new Archery Initiative.
Chapter 9: The Second Battle of the Northeastern Forest (16:15) - While rebuilding her army, Zaria is informed that their newly captured hammer village was taken by a new unit of Red soldiers led by Captains Simon Medina-Felix and Ian Gonzalez. The fine lady marches her army up north to take care of this annoyance. Despite their experience, Medina-Felix and Gonzalez get outplayed by Zaria's army and are slaughtered with few casualties.
The Chronicle of Zaria (Continued)
Chapter 10: Weakening The Green Kingdom (17:14) - Sensing that the Green Kingdom will be her greatest threat, Zaria moves her army to the south to disrupt their spearmen-recruitment. They lay siege to the village, and are given a hard fight by Hekmaytar and Jeff Heff, but are nonetheless victorious. As Silksong had feared and tried to prevent, the archer was proving to be a nasty thorn for the other kingdoms.
Chapter 11: More Archery Recruitment (17:36) - Wanting to expand the pipeline of their archery recruitment, Zaria and her unit heads northwest to take the Blue Kingdom's archery village. Pherthy and the rest of the guards try to hold on, but they are no match for the archery lady and her companions.
Chapter 12: Reclaiming Her Village (18:26) - The new wave of archers are ready for action, and Zaria immediately conscripts all of them. Their next mission's objective is technically to expand the Initiative even further, but for Zaria, her reasons are personal. The army makes haste for the village that the archery lady once called home to reclaim it. The guards do not want their village to be beholden to the Yellow Kingdom again lest another kingdom comes to ravage them, but they are quickly dealt with. Zaria reunites with her family and tells them stories of her many battles under the Yellow banner, before making one of the Initiative's graduates, Clash Bluelight, her new second-in-command and departing to continue her campaign. The force skirmishes with a Blue unit and the lone Green soldier named Loki before moving on.
Chapter 13: Lady Zaria, The Kingslayer (19:50) - Approaching the Green Kingdom Fortress, our fine lady notices that the walls are devoid of guards. Correctly assuming that a new Green Army has been dispatched, Zaria orders an assault on the fortress to assassinate the Green King. The Yellow swordmen charge, sacrificing themselves to give the four Yellow archers carte blanche on the helpless ruler. Zaria, Clash Bluelight, and Waruea would overwhelm the unfortunate king, Zaria's bow landing the final shot. One down, two to go.
Chapter 14: The Archery Grandmaster (22:27) - The overwhelming success of Zaria and the Initiative has lead the Yellow Kingdom to officially promote her to general and give her full control of their military operations. Zaria's only demand is for more archers and to continue expanding the pipeline, earning her the title of Lady Zaria, The Archery Grandmaster. She heads west to reclaim a village that was taken by the Green Kingdom right before their king was slain. The guards are no match for the overwhelming force that Zaria commands.
Chapter 15: The Battle of the Eastern Plains (25:40) - General Zaria and her army have established a stranglehold on the southern and eastern villages, giving them a steady stream of recruits to draw from. The now greatly expanded Yellow Army travels to the northwest, tracking a Blue unit with multiple distinguished soldiers. With a more than 4-to-1 advantage, Zaria and her men lay waste to them, slaughtering three-quarters of their force.
Chapter 16: Expanding to the North (26:31) - The pipeline for conscription needed to be expanded, so the general headed north. First, the spearmen village, which had just eradicated a Red attacking force, led by the defiant Wilkass. Exhausted by the previous battle, the spearmen fell one by one. Then, the army assaulted the Red Kingdom Fortress, now weakened and starved of recruits by the Yellow Kingdom's pervasive actions. The king's guards were mercilessly slaughtered by the army, and Zaria's bow once again landed the final shot on the monarch. Two down, one to go.
Chapter 17: The Suicide Run (27:28) - It was clear to Zaria and her captains what the next course of action was. The Blue King had to be slain, no matter the cost. The army launched an assassination run on the Blue Fortress. It was suicide, but Zaria, Clash, Waruea, Noah, Somebody, and the rest of the force were prepared to die to ensure a total victory for their kingdom. The footmen laid their lives down to ensure their success, while Zaria, Clash, Waruea, and the newly promoted Sirius picked off the king. With that, they then conquered the western hammer village, with Sirius left behind to guard it with their life. However, the three heroic archers and an unnamed fourth one would meet their reckoning, as the massive Blue Army sought their revenge. One by one, Zaria's most trusted officers fell, and all she could do was flee to see the final conquest through with a heavy heart.
Chapter 18: The Final Campaign - The other three kingdoms were in ruin. Only the Yellow King stood. The objective was simple, eradicate all remaining resistance and claim full hegemony over the land. Thus, General Zaria and her new army marched out to finish the job. It was learned that the Blue Army that killed Zaria's captains had fallen to an independent archery village to the north, the same fate that befell Silksong. One by one, the remaining villages fell. Soon, they came to the northern archery village that had held out for the entire war. It too would fall to the might of General Zaria. She made Beorthrid her new right-hand-man, and they marched on the two remaining northern villages. The spearmen were no match for Zaria's unrivalled skill. After replenishing her army, the berserker village would soon fall to Zaria's overwhelming might too, bringing an end to the Four Corners War with a total Yellow Kingdom victory. The warrior who had led them the whole way would be honored to the highest degree, and given a title worthy of her accomplishments: The Most Excellent and Honorable Lady Zaria, The Legendary Archery Grandmaster.

For improvements, maybe make it so that if a unit has only a few soldiers left (like in the single digits) they automatically go back to their castle, or a nearby outpost with troops to spare, to refill their number. While one man armies are always awesome, it can lead to situations where a unit with 3 or less troops are wandering around aimlessly, until they get killed by another unit.
Maybe set a timer (After X amount of time with Y or less units, return to castle)? Maybe frame it as them returning to restock on supplies or something.
Also, maybe implement a way to respawn the Captain unit (the helmet with red flair that everyone starts with)? It’s kinda lame how 9 times out of ten they die in their first 3 battles and we never see it again.
Spot on with this version - the retreat feature definitely added more dynamic and realistic combat, conserved more veterans, and I think it also created more small skirmishes. Well done
I think it's time we get a new map
The story of AVERAGE SILKSONG FAN
He did not start as just another silksong fan. In truth, from the very beginning he was from the most average of them all. As commander, his first battle was 0:33 where he did not do anything special.
0:47 On the way back home, his company encountered the cursed yellows. The greens were outnumbered. He did what any would have done: at first, he hid in the backline, but when all his soldiers were gone, he rang the retreat and bravely ran away. Ironically, he killed more enemy in his escape than all his soldiers during the skirmish.
3:15 As luck would have it, he got lost and could not find the way to his castle. Instead, he ran into the yellows' army again, who had since then recruited thirty soldiers. Once again, our average silksong fan was outnumbered, and though he tried to stand his ground for a few seconds, he was soon forced to flee.
3:53 Things were looking dire for our hero. He needed to give good news to the green king... He headed for the knights' monastery, since it was the least populated enemy building around. Since he didn't know knights were supposed to be courageous and strong (after all, he was one), he was not afraid to attack them and killed them all in a brilliant display of swordmanship. However, he'd forgotten that he needed troops to keep control the place. Ah, well, time to report to the castle anyway.
5:55 The green king was pleased by average silksong fan's two victories and three levels. Now at the head of a little army, he was tasked with conquering some more. He got lost again, so he managed to stumble upon the farthest of the most defended neutral settlements.
6:17 Having strayed too far from the castle, average silksong fan turned back home and decided to visit a nearby town, since there were only three survivors from an earlier raid. This was a terrible mistake, for one of these survivors was Aleera, the Berserk Sister, who ravaged her way through his army before he finally put an end to her killing spree.
7:58 After being granted new men by the green king, his tactical acumen is vindicated once again: he finds an enemy army which he almost outnumbers! Using the tried and true tactic of letting his soldiers do whatever, he manages to seize the victory, though he lost more soldiers than the yellows.
8:57 He finds an almost deserted archery camp. The enemy's weapons can't scratch his armor (though they can kill his last remaining soldier). He laughs and slays the defenders, but without an advisor, he forgets that there need to be soldiers left to control the place.
9:31 There is no small victory! Though it is an useless one.
10:06 He's careful counted the levels, and he's pretty sure he can outnumber this lone blue. The blue sees him, spars a bit then walks away. That counts as a victory as far as average silksong fan is concerned.
10:27 Where's that damned castle again? Frustrated at being lost *again*, he decides to blow off some steam attacking an archery range. The damn archers resist, so he unresists them but he keeps getting weighed down by the arrows... After a while, he figures it's pointless and runs away, leaving a single terrorized and befuddled archer.
12:11 Nah, that castle is not green. Also, it is defended by almost a hundred bloodthirsty blues.
12:12 An archery range! He just went there and killed almost everyone. He can probably take a breather after he cleans up the place again...
His story would go on to inspire a generation of young green heroes: Loki, Hekmatyar, Kyla, who would follow his example and bravely run away, settle in forgotten corners of the world and lead the army into larger enemy forces.
Though average silksong fan was the direct inspiration for the green military doctrine from then on, which had exactly the expected result, no green hero would reach his level again.
Would there be a chance to have mutiple armies to roam for every color, if ever the map gets bigger?
I also like how there are high leveled up archers now.
It's a shame that Green's hero was not able to learn from their narrow death and once more fought a pure army of bowmen

this point marks the battle where Zaria is recognized... And the beginning of the end. The only reason why she survived is that she retreated while she could.
12:40
at the most opportune moment she striked the fort with her (idiotic) companion. Three shots, three kills.
That's when she knew she was something greater.
12:54
on the return trip to the kingdom a lone red soldier was ambushed by Zaria. He tried to run and even tried to fight, but it was all in vain.
13:52
after convincing the king to let her command a few troops she was suddenly ambushed by a lone blue soldier. Good thing the king approved her request.
14:44
though storming the trench was a success Zaria found that she was more effective when she was commanding small groups.
14:58
seeking revenge for their fallen soldier a battalion of red soldiers attacked Zaria's army. Out matched 27 to 22 Zaria managed to score victory with heavy casualties
16:13
while reforming her lost Army Zaria heard rumors that a red battalion captured yellow territory. Instead of recapturing it while they were weak Zaria decided to attack the battalion themselves. victory.
17:12 and 17:33
seeing as they were running low on captured territory Zaria decides to capture some bases. her reputation as a sharpshooter is starting to grow at this point.
18:24
it seems that blue has finally caught on to Zaria's skills, causing them to retreat to safer territory. In absence of a fight she decides to attack the neighboring territory. Victory.
18:44
sick of getting ambushed Zaria decides to ambush a blue war band instead. Victory.
18:58
Zaria's Army came across a green madman. In his blubbering and sloppy fighting he keeps on yelling about being Loki, or something... He's dead now.
19:50
Zaria didn't expect the Green King to send most of his troops out to battle. What she also didn't expect is to land the killing blow on the king. It felt amazing though, so she must do it again. She will stop at nothing to kill another king.
21:35
"Screw it." Zaria thought "the Red Kings up next."

A cool video again.
But seeing a simple marble throw itself away against a big unit with no gain for it left a sour taste. Should've "Noped" out when he was so outnumbered.
Also seeing green kill itself again by emptying its castle so that a small force could just slay its king was kinda disappointing.
Maybe walls should block arrows? Or some kind of walls, like those in the throne room?
Anyways, great video as usual!
The walls blocking arrows is a pretty old suggestion by now, sad that it still wasn't been added, even trough it's the perfect way to balance archers.
