Roger Glover is the bass player, criminally underrated.

  • @fortiterinresuaviterinmodo5549

Simply the best hard rock band of all time

  • @jonselby1879

not many people would listen to this ROCK😍😍n roll

  • @brucefelger4015

It does help that they are all of them, magnificent artists.

  • @georgemorley5926

From Australia , the great , the legendary DEEP PURPLE , just one of the many phenomenal British bands of that late 60s early 70s era , Peace from down under.

  • @barryrammer7906

130m lps sold. 1973 the biggest band in the world in gate receipts and lps sold. Rip Jon Douglas Lord.

  • @TheProgCorner

    Made In Japan!!!! Masterpiece.

  • @BlackersMTV99

I bought the album 1973 in februari. I was 8 and my first real record and now space truckin live is a gem to me

  • @evengaarder7766

Now THAT is something to low and behold! Absolutely phenomenal. The live version totally kills the studio one. Made in Japan is one of the legendary live albums, recorded in 2 days in Tokyo and Osaka 1972. Great choice 🤘

  • @Alirkson

Deep Purple and Rainbow live is somethings to behold - In my books, the albums Rainbow Live in Germany 76 and On Stage are two of the best live rock guitar albums recorded in the 70s - absolute killer versions of Catch the Rainbow on both albums - the reason God invented the Strat

  • @theheepster

Ian Paice nailed it. My favorite Drummer of all time.🖖

  • @stephendennis5911

The best live album ever of deep purple from made in Japan

  • @DGSPhoto

Great reaction! Great track! Shut your eyes during the Jon Lord solo and you're actually flying through space! Been listening to this for over 50 years now and it still gives me goosebumps at the end with the crowd not knowing whether to clap or not - until some brave soul starts it off! Then you realise that the whole thing was recorded just to see how it went - and was sent out there completely unedited! Agree with those below who mention "Wring That Neck" as another example from the early days with so many live versions of it - but none of them the same! And for me the ultimate studio track was "Stargazer" by Ritchie's Rainbow - unfortunately it was so perfect it was almost impossible to improve it live. Again though, in agreeance with below in the live version of "Catch The Rainbow" off of "On Stage" as the perfect example in comparison with the studio version.

My favourite extended live Deep Purple track is probably Mandrake Root from the Live in Stockholm 1970 bootleg. 😊

  • @jeffschielka7845

Hey Jim! Glad you are feeling better. Deep Purple's MADE IN JAPAN is one of the greatest LIVE albums ever recorded! I still have my original album. Enjoy!!!!🎵🎼🎶🔈🔉🔊😎

  • @alericksonof1967

Rainbow live with tunes like Catch the Rainbow or Still I’m Sad, Stargazer and many more from On Stage or Live in Germany 76 etc is a tour de force of extended jams and majestic blistering drums and guitar work …even Tearin out my Heart live from JLT era of Rainbow is a monster live

  • @genabourassa7962

I have to say that it takes a lot of stamina to play drums and keep going as long as Ian did I also can't imagine how anyone can think that another drummer could be #1 over Ian, I never listened to a better live band than Deep Purple and that includes Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin I found that they were better in the studio but missing something live. I also must add that Ian Gillan is my all time favorite singer he is a beast. The bass player was Roger Glover he joined at the same time as Ian Gillan

  • @jonselby1879

I bought Made in Japan second hand from a mate on the school bus in 1974. Roger Glover on bass, Jim.. A wonderful live album, along with Frampton Comes Alive and Lizzy's Live & Dangerous, the big 3 live ones for me from the 70s.
