This is exactly how I felt! My friend LOVES this book so I went in with high expectations. But I was just bored…like you said the whole plot was laid out halfway through, the motive for Wally’s killings were weak, and her mom living in the town FOR WHAT!? It made no sense and I had to force myself to get through the last 3/4 of the book. I felt like I was skimming through it because my mind kept wandering off because there was nothing to hold my focus so I thought it was just me thinking I missed reading something that made the plot better, but I’m glad to know it wasn’t just me!

The book made no sense and so many plot holes. I don’t even get the ending. And was the printing press in the town able to make secret towns in it?

I totally lost track of what was happening at the very end with Nell and what she was doing and how. So frustrating

The fact it's a surprise fantasy book was the biggest letdown for me. I thought I was getting National Treasure
