Delta Airlines A321 First Class MCO to ATL

- It's just a short one-hour flight from MCO (Orlando) to ATL (Atlanta), but the fact that this is a brand new Airbus A321 made it a bit more interesting. While I'm not intending this to be a full review, this video is a compilation of clips which sums up my experience on Delta flight number 82 in first class. My seat was 5D.

To add to your written review, the flight is marketed as Business Class because the
1) the flight # continues on to another country (BOS-ATL-JNB) or Starts in another Country (AMS-MSP-MDW) and operates a domestic section.
2) All flights to the Caribbean and Mexico, as well as Central America is marketed as Business Class because the flight is Catered similar to a regal domestic F flight, and the aircraft is not using D1 Equipment/Amenities.
Thanks, yeah, I thought it was a mistake at first but then I later realized that the flight number went international later that afternoon. Probably still confusing to many though!
Hopefully I'll get to fly on one for my Orlando trip. Originally we were taking the A321 both ways, but they just changed the return flight to a 757. Fingers crossed they keep the outbound on the Airbus. Nice video. 😊
Thanks Brandon - glad you liked it. Yeah, I had booked the A321 both ways as well, but they changed the outbound flight to a 737-900 several days before departure. Hopefully you'll get that A321!

Thanks. I use my iPhone 6S and GoPro Hero 4 to film these. 60fps (1080p on the iPhone and 2.7k on the GoPro).

Thanks! Yeah, those new A321s are nice, so it was a bummer that it was such a short flight. Hopefully we'll start seeing these airplanes on other routes soon!
SANspotter Thats true. It will go to Detroit later this year from MCO. They are going to bring the A321 to Tampa around Aug 27 and expand it to cities like Detroit and Minneapolis.
I have flown one on san-msp and it was a great plane. I hope to fly it again this year.

Did you use a time lapse camera or just speed up the film?
I just filmed it normally and then increased the speed in Premiere. I prefer doing it that way so that I have the option of showing it either way when it comes time to edit.

Looks like you were lucky enough to fly one one of the first A320 series with the new cabin. Looks pretty sweet, the bins remind me of the A350.
Yeah, this was a brand new A321 (just a couple months old) complete with the new airplane smell! It was so new that they hadn't even installed the wi-fi system yet. It was a nice ride for sure though and I'm looking forward to seeing more of these in DL's fleet over the coming years.

It's a nice airport! My parents moved closer to MCO last summer so I'll probably be flying there more often.
I wonder if delta will ever bring them to SAN???
I'm willing to bet they will once they have enough of them in the fleet. DL has an incredible amount of lift out of SAN on a daily basis, and with the 767's leaving the fleet they are going to need to make up for those lost seats somehow.
They have 11 of them already in service in 71 more on order, so I'd expect to see them all over the DL domestic and short-to-medium-haul international route network once they get all of the planes delivered. These and the 737-900ERs will be replacing the older 752s and domestic-config 763s. They're just running them between ATL and Florida right now in order to get lots of cycles in for crew familiarization.
iTripReport If you haven't looked in a while, most SAN-ATL is now A-321. Have a nice flight!

Thanks - I'm using both my iPhone 6S and a GoPro Hero 4. Basic cameras are getting good these days! Anyway, yeah, this was a short flight (about an hour) so they only offered the snack basket. No meals on these flights!
Very sensitive screen! I experienced awful and pool screen from DL flight 757 headed to MEX.
Yeah, those new video screens are awesome. Almost as good as a decent smartphone.
Who saw the Emirates 777-300ER???
When one "trip reports" it would be nice to view other aspects besides looking out the window. Try food, beverages, the entire cabin perhaps??
Agreed - but in all honesty these videos aren't really meant to be full trip reports. My full trip reports (with lots of writing and tons of pics) can be found on my blog, and these videos are just a quick preview or summary of the experience. I don't think I'd have the energy to do full video trip reports! Haha...
:25 First class seats have changed so much. I recall flying 15-20 yrs ago in first and they were wide, plush leather seats. These look no better than coach just spaced apart more. It doesn't even look like first anymore SAD!

The busiest air route in the southeast MCO to ATL.
Yeah it’s amazing how many times DL flies this every day. I miss seeing the L1011 on this route!

Atlanta has 8L 8R 27 L 27R 9L 9R 26 L 26 R there is no 28 in ATL
According to Google maps (satellite view), runway 28/10 is located on the far southern portion of the airport property. It exists!

The bulkhead seats in first class look horrible...so little leg room, very cramped. The other seats look fine.

this could not be first class no meal no champagne no nothing Bretzel and thats it where have all the good times gone. Delta is a run down no de luxe Company lufthansa on domestic flights serves a meal on China plates and free flow of Liquor. and the longest flight is one hour and ten minutes

omg what how on earth is this first class??? if this is first class it's the worst ever!!!!! tiny leg room and person right next to you and in front of you. no way can you call this first class.
For domestic US, that's pretty much as good as it gets. I agree though - calling it "first class" is a stretch.
SANspotter What's funny is that most European airlines don't even have domestic business class. It's just an economy seat with the middle seat empty on British airways' 320s.
